《Story of Us》CHAPTER 11

"Where do you wanna go?" Miguel asked me as soon as I was buckled up on the passenger seat of his FJ.

I was relieved to see Miguel earlier. He had suggested that we need to leave since we wouldn't be able to talk about what happened with Dom and his friends in our house. Thankfully, Dom had allowed me to go out as long as Miguel would bring me back home in one piece.

"Anywhere," I replied.

"What happened?" Miguel asked.

Before I opened my mouth to speak, I began to sob and it was difficult to stop.

"It's alright Bianx," Miguel said in a comforting voice.

He handed me his handkerchief, and I accepted it. I began wiping my tears, but I still couldn't stop myself from crying.

"It's alright," he repeated.

He drove in silence and allowed me to cry as I stare out of the tinted window.

I didn't realize that I fell asleep during our drive. I just felt Miguel lightly tapping me on my shoulder. I slowly opened my eyes—my vision still fuzzy.

"Bianca, we're here," he whispered.

"Where are we?" I asked, slowly sitting up straight.

I looked out the window. The sun had already set and the sky was beginning to darken. All I could see was an empty lot, more like a grass field with no nearby establishments.

"We're in somewhere private," Miguel replied. "Kind of."

He stepped out of the car, and I followed him. He set a blanket down on the grass. I walked forward and noticed that we were overlooking a different municipality—a city even. I bet this place looks breathtaking at night.

"How come you have a blanket ready?" I asked.

"I'm a boy scout. I'm always ready," he said, smiling.

"What really happened to you?" I asked as I leaned back on the blanket and propped on my elbows.

Meanwhile, Bianca sat cross-legged and stared into the distance.

"You know I am not very much of a jealous girl, right? Like we never really had a problem with other girls."

"Yeah?"

"That's the problem."

I tilted my head to face her. "What do you mean?"

"Maybe I was too naïve? Or maybe I'm really clueless about dating and stuff. He cheated on me."

Now this wasn't something that I expected. I thought that Bianca finally came to her senses and just decided to break up with her boyfriend.

I sat up straight and crossed my legs. I looked attentively at Bianca.

"He cheated on you?!" I asked.

"Yeah, and I never saw it coming."

"How'd you find out?"

Bianca told me about that one time wherein she saw a text message on Stephen's phone from an unknown number. But Stephen had made an excuse that it was for his friend who had borrowed his phone. She let it pass, believing Stephen's lie.

Honestly, it was so frustrating listening to her. I felt so bad for her. She loved him—much more than he deserved.

She had only found out after accidentally seeing a photo of a girl she didn't know on Stephen's gallery. It wasn't just any photo. It was a photo of the girl hugging Stephen, and a few more photos of the two who were looking very sweet and close together.

She didn't normally check her boyfriend's phone saying that she trusted him. But because of what she had accidentally found, she had decided to check his messages. That's when she had found out the exchange of messages between the two.

"It was like, all the evidences were right in front of me but I refuse to believe it."

"Damn," I muttered. "The guy's not just an asshole. He's also an idiot."

"But I love him. Maybe it's my fault. Because, you know he's always jealous and all that's why he accidentally fell for her."

I scoffed.

"Stop defending him. He's not worth it, Bianca."

She frowned.

"Did you even confront him?"

"Yeah. So we were just doing a project at school. We have no classes today and I was with him and some of his friends, and I kinda lost control of myself. He tried pacifying me and apologizing. But I wasn't thinking clearly," Bianca explained. "I called Kane and luckily she's in the campus too. We left together."

"Did you tell him that you're breaking up with him?"

"I don't know. It happened so fast. I think I did. But I sent him a text that I'm breaking up with him, in case I forgot to say it to his face."

"All this time he was acting so jealous, yet he's the one who's cheating on you. It's unbelievable someone would cheat on you. But it all makes sense. He was afraid the truth might spill out. He was afraid of his own ghost."

"I'm such a fool," Bianca muttered and began sobbing again.

"I'll teach that guy a lesson if you want me to."

All those years, I tried protecting Bianca from potential heartbreakers. I had always stood up for her when she needed my help with guy situations. But when we had entered college, she instantly fell for a guy whom she thought was the right one for her. It turned out that she was hugely mistaken. I felt frustrated all over again. I couldn't believe I got rejected by girls even when I had the purest intentions for them, but guys like Stephen got a chance on dating girls like Bianca and eventually break her heart.

"Wait here," I said and stood up. I walked back to my car to get my guitar.

"Wow, you also have a guitar ready?"

"Told you I'm always ready. I was awarded as the best patrol leader in sixth grade for a reason."

"Is that for real? You're telling me you're the best among all the boy scouts?" she asked, finally smiling.

I gave her a small smile, happy that I finally made her smile today. "Ask Kane and you'll see."

I sat back down on the blanket and began playing her a song.

Hi everyone! I hope you're still enjoying Miggy x Bianx. If you wanna know what song Miguel played for Bianca, here it is. I think it really fits the scene and these two. Enjoy!
