"Do you think something is wrong?" I asked Laurie, the both of us beginning to cross the empty street.
Laurie shrugged, "They might just be messing around with me, but I just wanna check on them. Make sure everything is fine, you know?" The teenager explained, turning her head a bit so she could look at me.
I nodded slowly, not that I completely understood. "I'm sure they're fine. Teenagers will be teenagers!" I exclaimed jokingly, throwing my arms into the air in an attempt to calm Laurie's nerves.
The girl smirked and looked down at the ground as we walked, her eyes focused on the movement of her feet.
I sighed quietly and sped up slightly, walking a few feet ahead of her. Just in case something was wrong, I didn't want anyone that wasn't me hurting Laurie.

Finally, we neared the house in question and made our way to the front door. I glanced back at Laurie as she caught up with me. She took a step forward and placed her knuckles against the wood before knocking gently, "Annie? Lynda? You here?" She called into the house.
After a moment of waiting the two of us made eye contact, and it was clear to me that Laurie was growing more and more worried by the second.
I held up my hand and gestured for Laurie to step back, so she did as instructed, leaving me to grab the door knob and push the door open. I wasn't expecting it to be unlocked, and from my views, Laurie didn't either.
The blond rushed inside and looked around the empty entry way, she peered into the living room, frowning when she realized all the lights were off.
I swallowed hard and proceeded to follow Laurie in her search for her friends. I looked around the kitchen, only to find nothing. The room was completely normal, other than some untouched beer cans set on the counter.
I jumped a bit when I heard the creaking of wood above me, "Laurie? Is that you?" I called up, sighing in relief when the blond responded with an: "i'm upstairs! Don't worry!"
I ran my fingers anxiously through my hair and made my way to the living room, studying each individual decoration and cushion on the couch whilst Laurie looked around upstairs.
The small pillows lay strewn across the floor and on the couch, signifying that something had gone on there.
I winced at the thought before spinning around when a loud scream sounded from upstairs.
My heart sank.
"Laurie?!" I shouted, looking around frantically before I heard the teenager scream again.
I quickly hurried to the hallway where the stairs were, only to scream myself when the blond came hurdling down to the first floor.
"Holy shit!" I blurted, quickly dropping to the ground and helping the crying Laurie up. She looked up the stairs and let out a cry of fright.
"Y/n! Y/n, they're dead!- They're dead, we need to run!" She shouted, leaning on me as her legs adjusted to the ground once again before hurrying to the kitchen, a limp now accompanying her movements.
"What? What happened?!" I asked in a panic, not bothering to look at the stairs, but I could hear footsteps against the steps, which made my heart thump against my chest.
I followed Laurie into the kitchen and slammed the door shut, shoving a kitchen chair in front of it to barricade ourselves in, and barricade the intruder out. During this process, Laurie had slammed herself into the backdoor, which was made of glass. She frantically wiggled the doorknob, but failed to push the door open. "It's locked!" She screamed.

I rushed over to Laurie, my hands grabbing her trembling shoulders and shaking them a bit, "Laurie what happened?!" I asked again, only to feel a warmth begin to cover my hand. I lifted one of my hands to see blood coating my palm.
"Oh my god-" I whispered in surprise, now staring at Laurie's sliced shoulder.
The door began to shake from behind us, I peered over my shoulder and frowned, my brows furrowing.
I wasn't afraid anymore.
Whoever this murderer was, they were trying to steal my kill.
I turned to Laurie once again, my anger fueling me.
"We need to get out of this house." I instructed her, swiftly making my way to the glass backdoor, the end of my white dress flowing behind me. After lifting my leg I slammed my heel into the glass and shattered it with a grunt.
I stumbled backwards a bit, my body adjusting to the sudden burst of the glass.
Laurie took charge soon after, her shaky hand slipping through the chunk of broken glass and managing to unlock the door from the outside. With this done, she stood back up and pushed the door open, only to scream when the sound of the kitchen door breaking echoed in our ears.
With a rush of adrenaline I shoved Laurie outside, causing her to stumble but run. "Go find help! Get someone!" I shouted to her, running outside only a moment later.
I rushed into the middle of the street, looking around in worry when I couldn't spot Laurie.
With that, I ran to a random house and slammed into the door, my fist now pounding against it, "Help! Somebody open the fucking door!" I screamed, groaning in frustration when the outside lights turned off.
I quickly kicked the door before spinning around and making my way quickly to the Doyle's house, hoping Laurie did the same thing.
I slammed my fist against the door in hopes of waking up the kids, "Tommy! Open the fucking door!" I shouted, my voice breaking whilst my heart pounded against my chest.
Only a moment later, I felt someone run into me, making me hit my head on the wooden door. "Shit!" I blurted, stumbling back and holding my head.
"Y/n! I'm-I'm so sorry!" Laurie exclaimed, quickly holding me still with her shaking hands before turning to the door and knocking frantically, again in hopes of Tommy or Lindsey answering.
"Y/n, no one answered!" She explained a moment later before glancing up at the window that lead to the room the two kids slept within.
"Agh! Tommy! Wake up! Open the door!" Laurie screamed, crying intensely as her shoes slammed against the door.
"Tommy hurry!" She sobbed, running her shoulder into the door and shouting in pain.
I shook my head, pushing the pain in my head out of my thoughts before looking around, "Shit, shit..." I muttered anxiously to myself, Laurie turning around a moment later and screaming, "He's coming!" She alerted me.
My adrenaline sped up, and I dropped to my knees to pick up a small flower pot.
I threw myself to my feet and took a step back, "Laurie which window is it?!" I asked, my fingers tapping against the pot as I prepared to aim.
"Th-That one!" The girl pointed and looked behind me once again, "Y/n! Please hurry!" She shrieked, triggering me to throw the flower pot at the house, the clay smacking just below the window I had aimed for before breaking into pieces.

We waited, our nerves overtaking us, but thankfully, the light flipped on a moment later, and Tommy poked his head out of the window, his hand rubbing his tired eyes.
"Tommy open the damn door!" I screamed up at him, which in turn made him hurry out of sight.
I made my way back to Laurie, holding her face and forcing her not to look back at our attacker, because I knew she would just panic and scream more.
"Come on Tommy!" I growled, leaning against the door so I would be prepared to rush inside once the door was opened for us.
After what felt like an eternity, the door was pulled open and the two of us rushed inside, Laurie so frantic she fell to her knees.
I quickly pushed the door shut and gestured for Tommy to help Laurie up. All of the action gaining Lindsey's attention, who had just arrived downstairs.
Laurie rose to her feet and quickly got to ordering the kids what to do, "Go back upstairs! Go hide! Right now!" She demanded, causing Tommy to open his mouth to ask what was going on, "What's happen-"
"Go upstairs now!" Laurie repeated, shoving the kids forward, which finally gave them a reason to listen and run to a hiding place on the second floor.
"Laurie," I began, now gaining her attention, "Go upstairs with them. I'll protect you guys." I ordered her, nodding my head slowly to reassure her.
"Y/n no! He'll kill you!" She begged, shaking her head in denial.
"Laurie. Do as I say! Go!" I shouted, grabbing her by her shoulders and spinning her around before forcing her to go up the stairs, "You need to protect them!" I explained, finally getting Laurie to obey me.
Once my victim vanished from sight I sighed shakily and speed walked to the kitchen, where I proceeded to pull my knife from my bag that still sat limp on the counter.
I twiddled the blade in my fingers and inched my way into the living room, soon making my way to the front door to pull it open and step outside.
I made my way to the end of the porch and stared at the street, my eyes widening when I saw our attacker.
The same man from earlier today.
The boiler suit and the eerie white mask.
He stood completely stiff in the middle of the road, staring directly at me.
Why the hell was it us he had to stalk? why did it have to be the same exact night my plans were going to take effect?
My grip on my knife tightened, "Come on you slow bastard." I muttered before going back inside and throwing the door shut.
I entered the living room and sat down on the couch, setting the knife down for a moment so I could pull my mask down to hide my face. I patted my white dress down and made sure I was comfortable.
"Come on..." I whispered, my voice breaking in the middle of my sentence and practically giving out. I forced myself to close my eyes and relax.
...
I inhaled slowly.
...
I exhaled the same.
...
The light gust of wind that could be heard from behind the couch caught my attention, the faint sound of the curtains flowing against the wind making it clear to me that the window was open.
My hand slowly took hold of my knife and I opened my eyes, standing up and turning around to stare up at the tall stalker that stood just behind the couch.
The male stared down at me, a knife in his large hand, mimicking my own mannerisms.
I tilted my head at him and narrowed my eyes, taking in his structure and lack of emotion, only to be taken aback when he followed the tilt of my head by doing the same.
My eyes widened, and my heart skipped a beat.
"Fucking asshole." I commented, raising my knife and jumping forward onto the couch, swinging my hand down and managing to slash the stalker across the arm, blood spurting out of his fresh wound almost immediately.
The slasher took a step back and walked around the couch, attempting to get closer to me, but he did not raise his knife.
I stepped away from him, raising my arm and tossing my knife at him, causing the sharp blade to catch him right in his other shoulder.
I rushed forward and lifted my foot, pressing my heel against his stomach and kicking him to the ground with a grunt whilst my hands took ahold of my knife and yanked it out of his skin.
The stalker collapsed with a loud thud, only to sit up soon after. He lowered his head and stared down at the large wounds I had inflicted on him before pushing himself to his feet and throwing his very own knife to the ground.
I stumbled backwards, seeing as the mysterious man continued to walk towards me.
I turned around, planning to sprint behind the couch to block him from reaching me, but doing this caused the end of my dress to flow behind me, making it easy for the murderer to bend over and grab me by my dress and yank me back with an almost unrealistic force.
I gasped and let out a panicked cry, my knife slipping from my grasp and falling to the floor whilst I was pulled back towards the dangerous man.
A moment later my back slammed into the strong frame on my attacker, I clenched my eyes shut and struggled to free myself from his grasp as his hands swiftly moved to grab me by my neck and the wrist of one of my hands.
He spun me around to face him before throwing me onto the couch and standing over me. I let out a cry of helplessness, realizing just how weak I was compared to the trespasser before me.
I placed my hands beside my hips, holding myself up as I stared up at the tall male. He stared straight back at me, letting a moment of silence pass before he inhaled deeply and hung his head, his hands rising to hold the sides of his white mask.
I narrowed my eyes at him, refusing to show anymore weakness than I already had. I looked around the living room for a moment, looking for anywhere I could run if I could just manage to get past the killer in front of me.
I glanced at him a second later to see him remove his mask and hold it against his chest. However, his head was lowered and his messy locks of hair had fallen into his face a bit, shielding my e/c eyes from seeing his own.
"Fuck it-" I murmured, not bothering to give my stalker a chance to do anything else. I slid across the couch and stood up, swiftly trying to run away from him, only for the man to take a few quick steps forward and grab my arm. He tugged me back and turned me around, one hand holding me by my arm while the other held his mask.
I gasped and winced, closing my eyes and preparing for him hurt me in some way. But when nothing happened, I hesitantly opened my eyes and slowly looked up at the male.
He now stared down at me, his head no longer lowered so that I could see him.
My eyes widened as I examined his face. He was attractive, he had a lovely facial structure and all of his features seemed to fit his face perfectly. His brown hair was shaggy and a bit curly, but it matched him well.
But the one thing that stuck out to me most was his eyes.
They were a dark brown, they seemed almost empty, and yet they still captivated me; drew me in.
My heart slowed down and a warm sensation flooded my cheeks. I raised my hand that was not being held by the man and pulled my mask up, revealing my face to him.
Tears sat at the brim of my eyes, my jaw sat agape.
"Michael?"
