《Trick Or Treat || Michael Myers X Reader》Chapter Eleven

The ringing of the home phone sent me out of my dream state and back into the real world.
I burst up from my seat and spun around, my eyes wide in surprise before I scrambled to pick up the phone and answer it.
I held the telephone to my ear and smiled softly, "Laurie?" I asked, my excitement once again beginning to boil up inside of me.
"Hey! So, I just got out of class and i'm getting ready to come over to your house. I just need to know where you live?" She asked, her curiosity evident in her sweet tone of voice.
I hesitated a moment- I never actually paid attention to the address of the house I was assigned to stay at. All I had known about it was what it looked like, and that it was set up near the Myers house. Just a few houses down and across the street.
"Um.. Somewhere near the Myers house. You know where that is right?" I asked, tilting my head subconsciously and furrowing my brows.
I waited a moment in silence, "If you do know, then i'll just sit outside my house and wave you over if I spot you!" I explained.
Laurie let out a small laugh from the other side of the line, "Yeah, I got that! I'll be over soon!" She beamed.
We said our goodbyes a moment later and hung up.
I smiled softly and extended my hands out before intertwining my fingers and giving each of my knuckles a satisfying pop.
I tilted my head back and sighed in relief as the stretching of my muscles became evident. I proceeded to make my way to the front door and exit the house; now standing outside on the porch to greet Laurie once she reached me.
My eyes fell half lidded as I pulled a small chair forward and sat down, now resting my chin on the porch railing to relax and watch any possible neighbors pass by.
My calm gaze arose to stare at the sky a short moment after. It would begin to get dark out soon, and knowing that Laurie was a teenager meant she may not have too much time to be able to research with me.
I frowned, hating the idea of possibly running out of time to have her help.
I closed my eyes for a moment, clearing my head and taking in deep breathes to soothe my nerves.

It's fine.
We'll find Angel and we'll locate her.
I'll find her.
And i'll slaughter her.
And then i'll go to Michael-
I'll free him and then we can run away together and be free! And Laurie could come with us!
I smiled softly at the thought, only to jump in surprise when I heard a shout from across the street.
I opened my eyes and quickly stood up, searching for the source of the noise. My eyes fell upon Michael's old home, only to narrow in on Laurie Strode, who had just made her way past the house and was now waving at me as she walked along the sidewalk.
I stood silently for a moment, an odd wave of anxiety washing over me for no real reason I could guess.
I lifted and waved to the blonde as she crossed the street and ambled her way up to my house.
"Big house! I like it!" Laurie complimented with a quick nod, that friendly smile still plastered across her face- like usual.
I bit my bottom lip and glanced back at the house, "Ah, it's fine. I bet yours is much better!" I shot back at the girl, arching one of my eyebrows afterwards.
Laurie snorted, "Who knows. Anyways, how much did you get from the library while I was at school?" She asked curiously, making her way to the front door whilst I did the same. I pulled the door open and gestured her inside before responding, "Four books. Two by randoms authors, those ones i'm not too sure about. But then there are these other two..." I explained, pausing to shut the front door and lead Laurie to the kitchen with the wave of my hand.
"These two were both written by the same guy..." I silenced for a moment and picked up the two books I had mentioned. I turned to Laurie and handed them to her.
The blonde stared at the books for a moment before nodding. She looked up at me with furrowed brows, not understanding what I was trying to show her.
I grunted and swiftly snatched one of the books from her before turning it to its side and reading what was imprinted on the books spine.
"It was written by Samuel Loomis! He's Michael Myers's doctor! Of course he would know the behind the scenes family stuff!" I exclaimed, waving the book around in my hands with excitement.

Laurie cocked her head back, seemingly bewildered, "He wrote books about Michael Myers?" She asked, unsure of the idea.
I nodded, "I don't really like the idea of using him to get money, but hey, he might've put some really important stuff in here!" I went on, placing the book on the counter and pressing my finger against it as I spoke.
"I found these two off in a backroom after the librarian let me back. Back there is full of books that aren't allowed to be sold or read by anyone, because they could have important information that the law doesn't want anyone to know about!" I continued, passionate about my explanation.
"One of these books- maybe both of them for all I know, could have Angel Myers and her whereabouts slapped down into one of these pages!" I finally finished, exasperated by how much I had just spoken.
I placed my hands against my face and rubbed my temples, relaxing myself as I looked at Laurie, taking in her reaction to my long speech.
She blinked quickly and eyed the books suspiciously, "How did you manage to get the librarian to let you take them?" She asked, raising one of her eyebrows and skimming through one of the books in a swift manner before setting it down.
I swallowed hard, "I bribed her." I quickly lied, finding my false statements to come easily to me.
Laurie pursed her lips together until they formed a flat line across her pale face, she narrowed her eyes at the books for a moment before nodding, "Sounds like employees in Haddonfield to me." She joked and spun around, making her way to the table and taking a seat, thankfully not where I had cleaned up my bloody hand just the night before.
Having the memory return to me triggered me to swiftly swing my bandaged hand behind my back and gather the four books into my free hand before making my way to the table with Laurie. "So did you learn anything at school- about Angel?" I asked, tilting my head as I took my seat.
Laurie bit her tongue, sitting back in the chair and thinking for a moment.
"Not really." She murmured, and lowered her head, "All I really got from them is that it was none of my business and that it was confidential. And by confidential I assume whoever Angel Myers is, goes to my school- and they just don't wanna say!" She explained with a chuckle, running her fingers though her fluffy hair.
I grinned, "Goodness! She's so close I could practically reach out and touch her!" I blurted, a laugh slipping past my lips as I leaned forward and swatted Laurie's shoulder playfully.
The teenager laughed alongside me and tilted her head, "Baloney!" She covered her mouth with her hand and quieted herself down a moment later, remaining well behaved.
I smirked at her and shrugged, "hey, for all I know I could be talking to Angel Myers right now." I snorted, my eyes shooting down to examine the row of books I had made after setting the four down across the dark oak table.
For a moment, I forgot why I was looking for Angel Myers, I was so focused on enjoying Laurie's company.
Michael was more important. So enough joking around.
"Ahem," I cleared my throat, "Anyways, we should probably start looking through these books!" I suggested, waving my hands over the four pieces of literature.
Laurie caught her breath and nodded a moment later, "Yeah! Yeah, of course!" She agreed, swiping the first two books from the line of four, "I'll look through these ones, you look at the ones that Loomis wrote." She explained before pulling one of the books open and looking at the first sentence, only to lift her head from the book a moment later to speak once again, "And we have to point out any interesting details we find!" She demanded with a smile, only to return to the book a split second later.
I blinked quickly and looked down at the two books I had been saddled with.
Just the two I had been hoping for if i'm being honest here.
I knew the background of what went on in Smiths Grove. So if I found anything out of place about that, Samuel's credibility would be lowered.
I closed my eyes for a moment and picked up one of the books, I pulled it open to see the first page, which introduced the title of the book just like cover had done.
