I inhaled heavily, the tasteful smell of fresh food washing over me whilst the waitress sat my plate down on the counter just in front of me.

"So, you're looking for Angel Myers?" Laurie questioned, digging into her own food in the process.

I nodded slowly, directing my gaze to the breakfast that had just been delivered to me. I slipped my fork into the soft pancake. "Exactly. So far all I really know is that she's definitely in Haddonfield- and she's Michael's sister of course." I scoffed at my obvious explanation before rolling my eyes.

"I just don't think I really have any way of finding out more about her. But you see... I have to find out who she is. I have a dead line." I finished with a tired sigh, leaving Laurie to take in my words.

The blonde nodded slowly, scooping up some of her breakfast and plunging it into her mouth, she swallowed silently before reciting a few bits of my dialogue that interested her.

"The library? Police? I bet they could have some information on her, especially if she's a murderers sister; don't you think?" She suggested.

My eyebrows arose and I leaned back, puffing out my cheeks and chuckling, "I am so glad I met you, Laurie Strode." I proclaimed, tilting my head and extending my hand out for her to shake.

It took a moment before Laurie realized what I was inviting- she swiftly raised her hand and took mine into her grasp. Once we felt contact we gave each other a shake of the hand and gentle smiles.

I like this girl.

Maybe- just maybe... By the end of all of this, once Angel is dead and Michael is happy... Laurie could be our third ever friend!

"Do you wanna help me?" I asked, resting my arm against the counter and fiddling with my fork. Laurie bit her bottom lip, clearly thinking hard about my offer.

"I wanna help, yes. But tomorrow? I have things I need to do later today so i'll be busy. Then tomorrow I have school, but i'll be free later afterwards if that works?" She explained, shrugging slowly, unsure of the scheduling.

She goes to school.

I know for a fact that Angel Myers is young, most likely around Laurie's age.

She has got to be at that school.

"Oh! Yeah no that totally works!" I blurted in excitement.

"Tomorrow is fine. Just make sure to look around for anyone under the name of Angel Myers, and if you find her- tell me." I demanded, forcing a sweet smile onto my face to hide my seemingly intimidating tone.

Laurie narrowed her eyes at me for a moment, a bit taken back by my request- my tone, is probably what did the trick there. However, she moved past it to continue the conversation,

"I'll tell you everything I know." She confirmed with a nod. Leaving the both of us to resume our breakfast, a chat ensuing soon after. Except this time it was simply about ourselves.

"So lets talk about something other than Michael Myers, hm?" The blonde suggested with a shrug, her eyes darting from my face and to my plate; my half devoured pancake lay untouched for the moment.

"Tell me about yourself?" Laurie asked, leaning forward and resting her thin arm on the counter.

"Me? Oh my um..."

Think. What's something interesting people would want to know?

...

"I'm twenty one." I blurted, an innocent smile flashing onto my face before I frantically scooped up my food and shoved a chunk into my maw.

Laurie nodded quickly, wide eyed at my odd behavior. She lifted her hand and ran her fingers through her fluffy hair, "Yeah but like, something less- normal?" She asked, ever persistent.

Okay.

That didn't work.

Maybe take an odd fact about myself and twist.

"Well... I have this little mask at my house. I helped someone make it when we were younger." I informed her, smiling at the small memory of being in the sanitarium with Michael.

"Hi Michael!" I exploded, excitement bubbling up inside me whilst I strode towards my friend.

He lifted his head slightly, turning to look in my direction as I arrived by his side. Both of us glancing back at the door when it was pulled shut by the guards on the other side.

We'd recently gotten permission to be able to visit in each others rooms as long as there is supervision!

I'd already visited his room a few times before, and it always felt new every time we did it!

How cool is that?

I can see my crush!

I turned my attention back to Michael, an innocent smile plastered across my face. "How's that mask going?" I asked softly, leaning forward and cupping my hands together, showing him I didn't intend on touching any of his belongings without permission.

The older boy shifted to look at me, the usual handmade mask shielding his face from being revealed to me. He nodded slowly, signifying that there had been progress on his project.

I grinned, bouncing on my heels with excitement, "Could I help?" I asked hesitantly, hoping not to lower his mood with such a question.

"Like- could you teach me how to make masks? And could I help with that one you're making for me? As a... sort of... Collaboration piece, y'know?" I delved deeper into my request, attempting to make it easier for my friend to understand my desires.

I could hear a low grunt escape his mouth before he slammed his fist against the table he sat at, the surface shaking for a moment before calming down. I remained silent, unsure of if he had been angered or not my my question.

He shifted to look back at me, slamming his hand down onto the table once again. My eyes widened and a grin returned to my face, now understanding he had been gesturing for me to come closer.

I ambled towards the table, slowly lowering my hands to lean against the crafting table to watch my friends artistic skill unfold. "So what stage of the process are you at right now? The painting? The- stickin' stuff to it stage? Where are you oh wise one?" I joked, leaning towards him a bit whilst I giggled at my joke.

I stared at Michael for a long moment, my smile never faltering even when he slowly turned his head to look at me. His dark eyes searching my own.

We studied each other for a long moment before he lowered his head, pushing the mask to the side and yanking a piece of paper in front of him. He looked around his desk for a moment before taking hold of a small crayon; an orange one to be specific.

He smashed it down against the paper, practically snapping the crayon in half due to the amount of pressure he had put into it. Despite the slow deterioration of the coloring utensil, he began to write something, shifting to the side so I could see once he had finished his message.

I narrowed my eyes, taking in each letter as I struggled to pronounce the sentence in my head.

'You help me stage'

I leaned back, nodding slowly, "Okay... But I still don't get where you are on the mask..." I mumbled, cracking a crooked smile.

Michael looked to me once again, narrowing his eyes from beneath his mask before grabbing the work in progress mask and shoving it against my chest. He nodded his head in a swift motion, most likely asking me to put it on- test it out and see how it fit.

So I did as told and took the mask into my own hands, raising it to my face and holding it there.

"It fits perfect! The eye holes are level and everything!" I exclaimed, pulling the mask away and gently setting it back down onto the table.

"Michael, now what else can I do to help you?"

"You'll have to show me it sometime. It's not often I find someone with hobbies like that." Laurie smiled, nodding her head in acceptance with my fact.

"Oh definitely! But no touching it. It's special to me... The person I made it with isn't exactly... Here with me..." I murmured, staring longingly past the young girl.

Laurie furrowed her brows, attempting to understand what I meant. "You mean... Like... Are they?-" she paused, lifting her hand and pointing up, "Gone?" She finally managed to finish.

My jaw dropped.

Oh.

I nodded quickly, "Yep, oh boy uh- they are very much dead and gone and i'll never see them again! Oh, it hurts my heart so very very much! I can't bare to speak of them any longer!" I exclaimed, attempting to sound convincing.

Laurie stared at me with wide eyes, leaving me to look around the diner and examine a few of the faces that filled the building. They all looked bewildered.

Perhaps I said too much?

I looked to Laurie once again. Clearing my throat and frowning, my eyes falling half lidded, "Anyways yeah he's dead." I finished, smiling only a short moment later.

Nailed it.

"Okay. Got it. I'll put it in my notes not to touch the mask." She raised her brows and nodded slowly, her eyes still wide.

"Thank you," I nodded back, now feeling a bit awkward.

"Okay!" I clapped my hands together and stood up, raising my hand and gesturing for one of the waitresses to come to my aid. "I'm full and i've got some research to do! So i'm gonna pay for this food and go!" I explained, attempting to rid the air of awkwardness.

A waitress made her way over, leaving me to take a chunk of money from Ms. Olif's purse and slap it into the woman's hand. I smiled and nodded at her, turning my attention to Laurie and waving, "Where can I find you tomorrow?" I asked her, taking a few steps back and towards the doors to the diner.

Laurie shook her head, "I gave you my number remember? Just call once school gets out tomorrow! I'll be on the other line waiting." She explained with a small smile.

I nodded, waving to her before slipping out of the building, a heavy sigh escaping my mouth.

I need to work on my social skills.
