"We're going to have such a good time!" Meg cheered ecstatically as she fist pumped into the air.

"I don't know...isn't this trespassing?" Claudette asked worriedly, keeping up with the others.

"Nah 'cuz it's abandoned, ain't it?" Jake replied sarcastically, making Meg and Nea giggle.

"This doesn't seem like a brilliant idea." You agreed with Claudette sensibly and they all groaned.

"Come on (Y/n), it'll be epic!" Nea responded hyped as the dirt road got narrower...and much muddier.

"Ugh this mud sucks." Meg complained loudly, cringing in disgust.

"I tots know how you feel, just look at my shoes!"

"Aw Nene, your burgundy velvet shoes from Brian Atwood!"

"I just got them too!"

You ignored them and started talking to Claudette.

"I really have a bad feeling about this." She murmured anxiously and you tried to stay positive.

"I'm sure this'll be fun. We're even gonna make a fire and roast marshmallows - won't that be fun?" You smiled warmly and it did cheer her up a bit.

"I guess..." She nodded shyly and you two started a conversation until you got to the farmhouse, surrounded by huge brick walls.

"Wow! Look at it!" Meg gasped amazed as she pointed to a creaky-looking, two storey wooden house.

"That's hella cool!" Nea laughed and climbed nimbly on top of the huge brick wall.

"Here." She extended her arm and helped Meg, Claudette and you up.

"Hey what about us?" Dwight asked childishly, smiling.

"You're boys, make your own way up." Meg told them wickedly, snickering.

"Unless you're pussies." Nea cut in slyly, grinning maliciously.

"Here comes a real man ladies." Jake said humorously as he climbed over in one jump.

Dwight shook his head playfully as he too climbed over.

You all jumped into the abandoned area and Claudette shuddered.

"Like, oh my god Claudette, stop being such a baby." Nea huffed in annoyance and Claudette gazed at the floor in shame.

"Nea!" You snapped - which is rare for you - and Nea's cheeks went a light pink.

"Sorry Detty. I just want us to have a good time." She apologised embarrassedly. Nea and you are good friends, since you grew up together - so she listens to you.

"No it's okay, don't worry about it. I guess I'm just a little on edge." Claudette smiled, easily accepting Nea's apology.

"Well don't be! Come on Claudette, let's go investigate the house!" Meg exclaimed excitedly, grabbing her hand and literally dragging her across the cornfield.

"Ooh we can tell horror stories around the fire." Nea clapped her hands together and you shivered; from the cold though.

"Aw don't worry cutie, I'll protect you." Jake cooed flirtatiously, and you sighed heavily. It was no secret that Jake had a thing for you, but you really didn't like him - he drank and smoked a lot and had a really overbearing attitude.

"I'm just cold, I wasn't scared. And I don't want you to protect me Jake." You replied coolly, making Nea and Dwight laugh.

"It's true, (Y/n) was never scared when we used to tell ghost stories as kids." Nea explained truthfully, sounding a bit envious.

"Damn straight." You grinned proudly.

"Would you look at this badass." Dwight marvelled amusedly and you all followed Meg and Claudette into the wooden house.

"Is this even safe?" You wondered aloud as you went up the stairs.

"Should be. It's only been abandoned for ten years - wood rots usually within 50 to 100 years." Dwight answered knowledgeably and Jake snorted.

"Know-it-all." He slapped Dwight on the back boyishly as you went onto the balcony. There was a large metal generator, but you ignored it as you looked around the area.

"Wow, look at this view." You sighed contentedly. True it was abandoned and old, but the long rows of corn and leftover tractors gave you a creepy yet mysterious feeling.

"Right lets get a fire going outside!" You heard Meg's voice call from downstairs and with another last glance at the view you joined them outside. Jake and Dwight had moved a huge barrel in front of the giant house steps and used Jake's lighter to start the fire.

"Oooh very spooky." Nea chuckled playfully, sitting on the steps. Jake and Dwight sat on wooden boxes whilst you, Claudette and Meg sat on hay bales.

"Ok guys! I'm gonna start off with a spooky story!" Nea smirked jeeringly and rubbed her hands together.

"Make it good Nea!" Jake said jovially and she nodded.

"This is hella scary, so buckle in kids." She promised spookily, and Claudette grabbed your hand nervously.

"So, once upon a time there was-"

"Hold on, is this a scary story or a Disney movie?" You interrupted playfully and everyone bursted out laughing, even Claudette.

"Shush!" Nea giggled, putting a finger on her lips before continuing.

"Once upon a time, there was a family who lived here. They were called the Thompson Family, and they were very wealthy landowners. Their names were Evelyn and Max Thompson and rumour has it that they had an unnamed son. But because he was hideously disfigured the parents didn't want him and hated his guts!" She began amusedly as Meg and Jake sniggered.

"I don't find that funny at all. Poor boy." You said firmly and Claudette nodded shyly.

"It's just a story (Y/n)!"

"Yeah, don't be such a party pooper."

"C'mon babe."

The last comment was from Jake and you just rolled your eyes.

"Continue." You said sternly, crossing your arms.

"He was shut away from society. So ashamed of their son, they bricked him into a room and fed him though a hole in the wall. When the boy escaped-" Nea paused and took a unnerving breath,"-he took his revenge savagely and terribly, slaughtering the parents that had tortured him instead of raising him."

"I don't like this story." Claudette mumbled fearfully.

"After the deed was done-" She ignored Claudette and carried on,"-he continued living at the farm, taking out his deranged violence on the animals that were allowed to run free. As he finally broke free from his shackles, he ran through the cornfields, chasing and slaughtering whatever he could find."

"That is pretty creepy." Dwight stated uncomfortably, giving a calm smile to Claudette.

"They never found the bodies of Max and Evelyn, but they did tortured and disembowelled animals...all over the farm." Nea whispered darkly, her eyes flickering around the group.

"Coldwind Farm was quickly settled and the land split up and sold off. There was never a buyer for the farmhouse...this farmhouse. Perhaps it was..." Nea stopped abruptly and everyone tensed up; even you for once.

"-The sound of the chainsaw you could hear throughout those hot summer nights!" Meg finished loudly, scaring Claudette as she used a chainsaw noise on her phone.

"Agh!" She cried and hugged you frantically.

"It's alright Claudette. It's just Nea and Meg being asses. As usual." You rubbed her back comfortingly as you stuck your tongue out at Meg and Nea when you said the last part.

"Sorry. It was just really scary." Claudette admitted with a shaky laugh.

"Soz Detty. But it worked!" Meg apologised with a giggle and hugged Nea.

"That was some story." Jake agreed impressed and cracked open a beer.

But then you all heard the revving of a chainsaw.
