《By Chance 《Chanlix》》~ 11 ~

Minho hadn't slept well at all last night. All he could think about was Chan.
For some reason, Felix was extremely concerned. The poor boy was crying. At first, Minho didn't like him because of how close he was to Jisung, but now he pitied him. He didn't know when they met or how they possibly could've considering they went to different schools, but he could see how much Felix cared about him.
Minho hadn't seen Chan for about two years, but he had heard of his father recently and how he wanted to pass down the group to the eldest son.
Was this what it was about?
The night of the Changbin incident had arrived.
The first night without Chan.
Felix had realised as he snuggled into Chan's bed that this would be the first time that he slept alone at camp.
Changbin wasn't in the cabin either, leaving only woojin and Felix. Where he had gone, Felix didn't know. But he was glad. He didn't think he would be able to stay in a room with that pervert, he would probably be too scared to even attempt to sleep.
Even knowing Changbin wasn't there though, Felix still couldn't sleep. He had a familiar feeling of loneliness that he had felt in this trip once before. Only, it would be impossible to get rid of it this time, considering what he did last time wouldn't work this time.
No matter how many blankets he had, the space next to him felt cold.
That lonely night had passed and a sad day had followed of school activities.
That night, he had gotten his first nightmare back.
He hadn't had one of those in a long time. He woke up terrified, covered in sticky sweat, and after that, he couldn't fall back asleep.
Exactly three days had passed without Chan now. Felix stressed all day and couldn't sleep all night. He was afraid to.
Hyunjin had suggested that they go to the pool today, so that's where they were.
The day wasn't that hot but Felix had still applied sunscreen just in case as he burnt easily, his friends just laughed at him.

Felix stared at the water.
It looked so fresh and cool. The way it swayed back and forth without worrying about splashing off the sides or making mess.
It was just like Chan's behaviour. Felix smiled.
All of a sudden, he felt the chair leave from under him and he was being walked to the pool.
"1" everyone swung him back and forth.
"No guys don't do this!!"
"2"
Felix looked for jisung, the only one who could help him.
"No guys I can't swi-"
He was chucked into the water.
Felix kicked his arms and legs and swallowed heaps of water. He couldn't get back up. He felt suffocated.
He coughed and more water entered his body. He couldn't breathe. Everything went black.
Felix opened his eyes and saw...chan?
They were in a green field, completely different to his dream.
"Chan what are you doing here? Where were you? Why did you run away from us?" Chan was glowing and walked smoothly over the grass towards Felix.
He slipped his hand into Felix's and kissed his forehead, "I missed you."
Even though it was 2 in the afternoon, Chan was exhausted and decided to take a nap.
He was suddenly in a green field and he saw a certain baby boy in the same one, a few metres away from him.
He saw tears pool in Felix's eyes. Even if it was a dream, Chan could finally see him again, he wanted to hold him so tightly in his arms and tell him how much he missed him.
He moved closer to Felix and watched as the dream Felix studied him.
He slipped his hand into Felix's small one and immediately felt sparks at the touch that was so simple.
He softly placed a kiss on Felix's forehead, "I missed you" he spoke with a sad smile from the bottom of his heart.
Felix woke up to the smell of cleanliness and sanitiser that filled the still air.
He sat up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. knowing exactly where he was, he let out a big sigh.
How did I get here?

Sitting in a slouched position, he scratched his head, opening his eyes slowly and blinking a couple of times to get rid of the blur.
He heard whispers and turned his head to find a large clan of elephants standing by his door and staring at him.
"Do you think he's okay?"
"I don't know, he looks a bit out of it"
Felix was beyond confused.
"I can hear you." He stated so they would stop pretending like he wasn't conscious.
"Ah yes, we know. Haha" Minho replied, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck.
After a moment of awkward silence, Hyunjin suddenly stepped forward and put a hand on the railing of Felix's bed, "lix we're really sorry, we really didn't mean to make you end up.." he looked around the room, "here."
Felix looked at him, and then seungmin, Minho and then jeongin. He met each one of their eyes. They all held the exact same expression, guilt. Regret. And even though Minho had only known him for a couple of days now, he was the one with the most guilt.
Felix sighed, he really didn't mind hospitals that much, but he did hate the fact that he had drowned, that he couldn't swim. It made him feel weak, as if he couldn't handle himself.
But it wasn't their fault that he had ended up in hospital, if anything, he should be grateful. He got to see Chan...
Dream Chan didn't look well at all. His cheeks were sullen, he had massive bags under his eyes, the small sparkle in his eye had faded somewhat.
He hoped that was not what he looked like right now, in real life.
"Felix are you okay?" He heard from Hyunjin.
He only then realised that he had zoned out.
"Um, yeah" he fake smiled. "Don't worry guys, it's not your faults at all okay?"
They all looked to the ground and mumbled words like "yeah sure"
Felix really hoped they didn't let this guilt stay with them.
"I'm serious." He said in a stern tone.
Hyunjin locked eyes with him and gave him the saddest look one could muster, before nodding his head cutely.
What was that look? Felix wondered.
— time skip —
Felix got discharged almost immediately and was now in his cabin, with the whole clan of elephants of course. They had gotten permission off the adviser by saying that Felix was still not fully recovered and needed help with basically everything. Where woojin was, he would never know. That boy was never in the cabin besides from when they slept.
"So what did you dream about lix?" Jisung said while wiggling his eyebrows.
Felix thought back to his dream about Chan, "n-nothing" he stuttered.
"Oh I don't think it was 'nothing,' you said some pretty interesting things" Hyunjin pitched in.
Felix froze. What could he have possibly said?
"Mhmmm, I heard something like, 'Don't go'??? And 'stay here' and-"
"Okay enough!" Felix said, cringing hard.
He suddenly felt his phone ringing in his pocket. Reading the caller id, he really didn't want to answer it, but what other choice did he have.
"Hello father"
"Hello, I need you back here in two days time."
Felix asked "why?" Highly confused.
He heard a loud sigh from the other end of the phone, "the presidents son has passed and we were invited to attend the funeral."
He went silent. The poor family, they must be broken. And the boy, he used to play with that boy when they were children.
"O-okay, I'll be there."
"Okay good, I'll get a car to pick you up."
The phone cut and It slowly fell onto the floor, along with Felix. His heart was beating abnormally fast, he put a hand on his chest and tried to steady his breathing.
Suddenly, everyone was surrounding him, "Felix what's wrong?" He heard a voice, he didn't know who it belonged to.
"P-presidents son p-passed" was all he could manage to get out.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Minho almost faint.
