Lexa POV
------------
My knees started to buckle as fatigue started to take over my body. I had to press my hand against the wall to steady myself.
"Lexa, you need to sit down." Clarke said as she finished wrapping her wounds to stop the bleeding.
"Im fine, Clarke." I responded. I was fine, I just felt a bit woozy.
I felt a hand on my arm as Clarke tried to pull me towards the bed.
"Please Lexa, you need to sit down. You are still healing, and seeing your sister again was taxing."
Too tired to speak, I just nodded my head as I allowed Clarke to pull me to lay on the bed.
"Now close your eyes," Clarke coaxed, "you need to regain your strength and the only way you will get that is through rest."
"Clarke, how can you expect me to sleep after Alex just came back from the dead."
"Shhh... You cannot deal with this without your strength. I will wake you as soon as she wakes up. But for now you need to sleep."
Drowsiness started to over come my body despite my best efforts to fight it off.
"Fine. But you better wake me, I don't want you near her alone."
"I will wake you up." Clarke promised. She then kissed my forehead and started to get up. I reached out to pull her back down.
"I can't stand the thought of her getting you Clarke. I need you to stay here so I know that you are safe."
"Lexa, I need to make sure that no one is going to come up here. You are supposed to be dead. They cannot find one of you let alone two. Frankly, I'm a little worried that they didn't hear all of the screaming earlier."
Lexa Blushed. "What is it, Lex?"
"I told Titus that I would be up here for the next few days. I asked him to make sure that it would stay very, uh, private up here."
Clarke looked confused. Of course she wouldn't understand. She never understood unless I was very explicit.
I cleared my throat, "I told him that I wanted to be alone with you."
Now it was Clarke's turn for her face to flush.
"Oh! Well," She smiled, "I guess it is a good thing you did that."
A glimpse of Alex tied and chained to a chair brought me back to the present.
"Please Clarke," I whispered, "Just let me hold you while I sleep. I need to know that your here." Clarke nodded and laid beside me. I threw my arm around her middle and snuggled into her back.
The white of the bandage on here neck reminded me of the blade that was held to her neck.
"I'm sorry I did this to you." I whispered as I softly touched the bandage.

Clarke grabbed my hands and turned to face me. Her face was so close to my face that I could see every detail of her skin. The light freckles that danced across her nose, the beauty mark that sat next her her lips, and the hair that dangled infant of her face. I wanted so badly to tuck the hair behind her ear, but she held my hands captive.
"You didn't do this to me Lexa. Alex did this. And to be honest, I don't even think that she did this. Someone has hurt her and made her do this. We will figure it out okay?"
"Okay." I whispered closing my eyes.
"Now, go to sleep I'm right here, Lex." I felt her lightly kiss the tip of my nose. Holding her safely in my arms, I fell asleep.
-----------------------
Clarke's voice awakened me from my sleep, ""What was it like? In your cell I mean."
Groggily I reached my fingers out, trying to feel the warmth of the girl beside me.
"It was cold." I heard a voice that sounded like mine respond. "Lonely, after I was separated from Lexa, I was kept alone." When I heard my own name I snapped up in bed, suddenly remembering everything that had happened.
There, in front of Clarke, I saw Alex with her hands untied.
"Clarke!" I jumped out of bed! Hoping to reach her before anything bad could happen. As I rushed towards them, I realized that Clarke wasn't scared. I saw a plate with remnants of food next to Alex and it dawned on me. She untied Alex.
"Good Afternoon Lexa! Did you get enough sleep?" Clarke asked pulling me to the chair beside her.
"Clarke you were supposed to wake me if she woke up. Not untie her hand. She could have hurt you." I responded angrily.
"Well she needed to eat and you needed to sleep so I compromised."
"There is no compromise! You just disobeyed me."
"Lexa, calm down. First off, you know that I will always do what is best for you, whether or not you told me not to do it. Second, you need to talk to Alex. I have a feeling there is a lot you need to talk about.
Warily I looked over to find her twiddling her thumbs. She was giving us privacy during our little spat. Why would she do that? Why isn't she trying to kill us.
"I don't trust her." I spat. With a sigh Clarke stood up and said "Just listen to her Lexa." With that she began to walk away.
"No, please. Clarke I need you here with me." She looked to Alex, as if to ask permission. Alex nodded, and Clarke sat back down.
"You can do this." Clarke told me, giving my hand a reassuring squeeze.

"Okay I'm listening" I said with venom in my voice. Clarke gave me a look and I knew that it was time to stop.
"I was promised Commander," I heard Alex start, "This wasn't supposed to happen. I was just supposed to walk in the throne room and cut my arm to show I am a Natblida. Then, I would become the Commander. That was my part.
I looked at Clarke for reassurance and she nodded towards me. "Who sent you."
"Queen Nia, The Ice Nation Queen, she sent me before she died." Alex answered looking into my eyes. "You killed her. Thank you."
I nodded even though I was confused. Why would she thank me for killing her Queen.
"Alex said that Roan is here and he has brought an army. They were going to take over the tower. We need to tell somebody." Clarke told me.
As I nodded to Clarke, the door to the hallway flew open. Startled, every head in the room turned towards the door. Clarke grabbed for her knife, she knew that whoever knows that Lexa is alive cannot spread that information. Let alone that there is now two Lexa's.
"Clarke! I know your in here! We need to leave. We need to get back to Arka- What the?" Octavia stopped and stared as she saw Lexa and Alex.
"Clarke, what the hell is this." Relieved Clarke put the knife down.
"Octavia, close the door and I will explain." Octavia shut the door and turned back around.
Clarke took a deep breath, "Okay so obviously Lexa isn't dead."
"I can see that Clarke! There is two of her!"
"Just listen, Octavia. Lexa almost died from the gunshot, and we knew that there would be an attempt for commander if they knew Lexa was mortally injured. But, if Lexa was "dead" they would wait for the next conclave."
"Is that true?" Octavia asked looking towards me. I nodded.
"Why is there two of you." She asked.
"I was born as a two." I started.
"A twin." Clarke interjected.
Giving Clarke a look, I continued. "I was born as a twin. Identical. But, when I was four summers old..."
"Four years. old" Clarke cut in again. This time I gave her a look that was sharper. She mouthed sorry and once again I continued.
"Anyway, when I was four years old, my twin disappeared. After years of searching, we presumed she was dead. I never heard from here again. Until this morning, when she tried to kill Clarke."
Clarke hit me in the side, obviously angry that I cannot let it go, but how could I. Not only did she try to kill Clarke, but she succeeded in killing Costia.
"Theres no danger now." Clarke tried to reassure Octavia. "But we do have an emergency." Clarke began to tell Octavia about the threat from Roan.
"I'll take care of it." Octavia turned to leave and Clarke placed her hand on her shoulder. Octavia stopped, turning her head to show Clarke she was listening.
"Be careful out there. I can't lose you." Octavia nodded again and with that she was gone.
Now," I stated, "Where was I."
Alex looked up at me, her eyes softer than before. "Did you really look for me?"
"Our parents looked for you everyday for five years. I was taken from them at that time, so I don't know if they ever stopped."
"But did you ever look for me."
"In my army, I have a squadron that specializes in tracking. Everyday, since I become the commander they have looked for you. For an answer to what happened to you."
"If you spent so much time looking, how is it that you never found me."
"You did not want to be found." I stated.
"The Queen... She hurt me. She hurt me everyday I was there, even as a child. She kept me locked alone, only letting me out to train and to complete her missions." Alex hung her head, her voice was shaking as she tried to keep her emotions inside.
"She told me you left me to be her slave. She told me you knew where I was. She took everything from me. She left me as a shell of a human. The only thing I know how to do is kill. I finally get my wish, to kill you. And now I can't even do that."
"Please kill me. I deserve it. I killed Costia. I killed the woman that you loved." Alex cried.
Picking up the knife that Clarke dropped, I walked towards her. Alex shut her eyes tight, allowing me to slice her throat if I wished.
"Lexa-" Clarke started. I cut her off with a shush. This was between me and Alex.
Looking and my own face mimicked on her body, I could see the differences. I could tell that she had been abused for many years, it reflected itself across her body.
"I'm sorry."
"Please just do it." She begged, "Without my hatred for you, I don't know who I am anymore. I am once again alone with nothing."
Alex looked up and her eyes met mine, they were filled with tears. "Who am I?"
Reaching down with my knife I swiftly made my cut.
Alex's body fell limp against me. Her breath on my cheek was warm as she expelled all the air from her lungs.
The room was completely silence as I felt her weight up against me. It was completely silent, until I heard the gasp of air she took in and the the tears that followed. I had cut the robe that bound her to the chair.
"Let me show you who you can be." I told her as I held her. "You can be one of us."
