Peter leads his friends outside to the pool, where Thor and Steve are versing Sam and Scott in an intense game of water volleyball. Vision and Wanda are sitting on the edge, observing.

"Ah! New recruits! A little on the wimpy side but they'll do." Thor booms, climbing out of the pool.

"Wow he's handsome." MJ mutters, and Peter nudges her.

"Hey!" He whispers.

MJ rolls her eyes. "You've got to admit he's hot."

"Okay, yeah he is. Very." Peter admits.

Steve climbs out with Sam and Scott, drying off. "Tony didn't tell me we are getting new recruits."

"They're not recruits, they're just visiting." Peter hurriedly explains before Steve could get mad. "This is Ned and MJ, they're my friends from high school."

Steve nods a greeting at Ned, and Peter elbows him to keep him from freaking out. "Hello mam, glad you could join us." He shakes MJ's hand.

"Cool." Was all she responded, and Steve winks.

"You gonna introduce me, Pete?" Sam asks, mocking impatience.

"Gotta get the important people out of the way first." Peter teases, winking at Sam. They have a good relationship, and Peter feels comfortable with him.

"I'm wounded." Sam replies dryly.

"MJ, Ned, this is Sam, the Falcon. He got his butt kicked by Ant Man over there." Peter explains, not being able to help himself.

"I will throw you in this pool, kid." Sam warns, only half joking. Peter laughs.

"Hey guys, I'm Scott. Ex-thief." Scott introduces himself.

"You gotta stop introducing yourself that way, man." Sam shakes his head at Scott's odd opening speech. "We gotta scoot, spidey, see you around. Ned, MJ."

Sam starts walking back into the compound with Steve and Thor, and Scott is about to follow, when he whispers in Peter's ear.

"You got a good one there. Don't let her go." Peter blushes, and Scott follows the rest.

"Okay then, do you wanna meet Vision and Wanda?" Peter asks, and Ned nods eagerly.

"What was that about, Peter?" MJ questions, talking about Scott whispering.

"Oh, nothing I haven't heard before." Peter leans in and gives her a quick kiss.

Peter leads his friends over to the couple, a little nervously. He doesn't know how Wanda and Vision will react to new people.

"Who is this, Peter?" Wanda rises from her seated position warily. Vision also stands, an arm around her protectively.

"It's okay, they're my friends. They have no criminal history, and are honest people please don't kill them." Peter explains quickly, but Wanda doesn't relax.

She turns to Ned. "Who are you?"

"I-I'm N-Ned, Miss." Ned stutters.

"And you?" She ignores him, turning to MJ.

"MJ." Is all the reply MJ gives, and Wanda raises an eyebrow.

"What would you do if I punched you, MJ?" Wanda questions.

"Punch you harder." MJ shrugs her shoulders, and after a minute, Wanda relaxes.

"Good answer," She gives the slightest smile. "Thank you, Parker, for introducing us to your friends."

"It was nice to meet you." Vision says, and the two fly off to who knows where.

Peter lets out the breath of air he's been holding in. "That went well!"

"What would've happened if it didn't go well?" Ned asks curiously.

Peter looks him right in the eye. "You would be dead."

Ned and MJ shiver, then follow Peter back inside.

They make their way to the workshop, where Bruce and Tony are testing the new War Machine suit with Rhodes. The group watches as Rhodes takes off for another test run, hovering just above the ground. After a few seconds, the left hand repulsor splutters out and Rhodes becomes unbalanced, and runs into a bench. The suit sets on fire and ejects Rhodes, who goes flying. Peter runs over and catches him before he can hit the ground. Dum-E starts extinguishing the flames on the suit, and Peter sets Rhodes on the ground.

"Thanks, kid." He brushes himself off, and walks back over to Tony and Bruce.

"Uh, Tony? Mr Banner? Mr Rhodes? Can I introduce you to my friends?" Peter asks hesitantly, knowing they are in the middle of something.

Tony immediately puts the screwdriver down, and walks over to the trio.

"Hello Ned, MJ." Tony puts an arm around Peter, who smiles at him.

"Iron Man!" Ned exclaims, then clamps a hand over his mouth.

"Excited much?" Tony says sarcastically.

"Hello Peter's dad." MJ teases with a straight face, offering a hand for a handshake.

"MJ!" Peter hisses, kicking her feet.

She kicks back harder.

Tony accepts. "I've heard a lot about you, miss."

"Mr Stark!" Peter whines, completely embarrassed.

"Well it was nice to meet you, but we have to get back to work, sorry Pete." Tony apologises, and Peter quickly stops him.

"Wait! Could Ned have a look at what Mr Banner is doing with the suit for a minute?" Peter pleads, and Tony agrees. Ned pumps a fist and runs over to where Bruce is tinkering with the suit.

"Why don't you go with him, MJ? You might be able to try the suit on..." Peter bribes, and MJ shrugs and trudges over.

"What did you want to talk about, Pete?" Tony asks, leading him further away.

"It's about MJ." Peter begins, already nervous.

"I can tell you like her. When are you going to ask her out?"

"I kinda already have..."

"Oh really? What did she say?"

"She said she likes me too. We're going out."

"When did this happen? I'm so happy for you!"

"Well, it kinda happened in Europe..."

"What?"

"I didn't tell you because I didn't think you'd care."

Tony runs a hand through his hair, once again realising how much he used to distance himself from Peter.

"You know I care, right? I always have." Tony says softly, and Peter raises his eyes from the floor.

"I did wanna tell you, I just didn't want to?" Peter mumbles.

Tony brings him into a hug, much more frequent these days. "I care about you so much, Peter."

"Thanks, dad." Peter lets himself hug Tony for a few more moments, before pulling away and going over to his friends.

Peter drags MJ and Ned all over the compound, looking for Clint. After checking the air vents, Peter remembers that Clint is usually on the roof. If not in the air vents, that is. He pulls them up the stairs and opens the hatch to the roof.

Ned comes up after him, puffing. "Some of us don't have superhuman endurance, man." He wheezes.

MJ, comes up next, slapping away Peter's outstretched hand. She punches him once on her feet, breathing heavily.

"Hey! What was that for?" He cries indignantly, even though her strongest punch couldn't hurt him.

"For dragging me all over this ridiculously large building, then making me climb a billion stairs. Worst boyfriend ever." She grumbles, half joking.

"Sorry, MJ, I'll carry you next time." He apologises, hugging her despite the protests.

"Yes, you will." She submits begrudgingly, realising Peter isn't going to let go until she does.

Peter takes her hand and leads them over the roof, scanning for Clint. His spider senses tingle, and reaches out a hand in front of Ned, catching the arrow that came screaming out of the shadows. Ned stumbles back, going cross eyed at the arrow close to his face.

"Where did that come from?" Ned asks breathlessly.

Peter doesn't say anything, just runs forward and shoots a web into the dark shadows. He pulls on the string attached to his wrist, and the thump of someone hitting the ground can be heard. After a few seconds, Clint emerges from the shadows, peeling the stringy mess off his knees.

Peter groans. "Dammit! I was aiming for the chest! How was my aim that off?"

"I was crouching on a ledge, Pete. Your aim was perfect." He waves off Peter's complains, walking over to the group.

As he draws closer, Ned steps back further, remembering the arrow.

Clint laughs. "I'm not gonna attack you, big guy. I was testing Peter."

"So your aim was off?" MJ questions, raising an eyebrow judgementally.

"I was aiming for the big guy. Testing Peter's reaction time." Clint shrugs.

"So if Peter's peter tingle hadn't gone off I could've been hurt?" Ned asks, worriedly.

"Yep." Clint responds, and Ned gulps.

"Clint, meet my friends from school, Ned and MJ." Peter introduces, and Clint shakes both of their hands.

"It was nice to meet you both, but I gotta go. Sorry kid." Clint smiles apologetically, before leaping off the building.

Ned and MJ run to the edge in horror.

"Don't worry about him. I don't know how he does it, but he's fine. You won't be able to see him." Peter reassures them, before leading them back to the stairs.

MJ stops walking, sitting down. "I'm not walking back down all those stairs."

Peter grins. He scoops her up, bridal style, and starts down the stairs. Ned sighs, then follows him, already regretting not asking to be carried too.
