It's Peter's first patrol, and Tony assigned him to shadow Steve, partly because Cap is the least likely to kill Peter for talking or messing up, and partly because Tony wants to annoy Steve. They've been walking around for half an hour when Peter can't hold it in any longer.
"I know you said no talking I just wanted to say I'm sorry again for taking your shield." Peter whispers, and Steve stops walking.
"Thanks for the apology Queens, but like I told you at breakfast you don't need to apologise again. I slammed Tony's suit to pieces after that and we've moved on. You just gotta accept that things happen sometimes, and we'll get over it. If anything, I should be apologising for throwing an aerobridge on you, but I don't because it's in the past." Steve responds, then continues on the patrol route.
"Right, that makes sense. But it's alright, because I've had heavier than an aerobridge on me." Peter responds, and Steve laughs.
"What then? Two aerobridges?" He jokes, but the smile melts off his face as Peter replies.
"Nah, a building fell on me once. Oh, and a train ran me over, but that didn't hurt as much. Well, it kinda did 'cause I'd just gotten out of a battle with Mysterio, but the building kinda squashed me a little." Peter answers nonchalantly. He starts walking again, occasionally running up a wall or shooting a web and swinging a few feet. Steve hesitates for a minute, his jaw down at his feet before he runs after Spiderman.
"Queens' got some steel." He mutters in amazement at the 18 year old wonderchild.
