while the rest took their seats and began to choke down the food presented to them. Anastasia was starving but she couldn't be focused on food at this time, while her heart buckled at the absence of Bellamy and Octavia.
"How many?" Anastasia asked choked up looking to the others, as they continued to scratch the ends of their plates.
"48, including you and me" Clarke answered, "apparently they are still searching for the others" she added suspicious, looking over with a snake eye.
"You don't believe them?" She questioned Clarke, as Clarke turned back to her.
"No" Clarke replied, "not one bit, look at this" Clarke added pulling out a binder with a map in the front, Clarke fingers pointed to the ends, "no exits" she explained, "if they aren't able to find our people, i'm going to, once I get out" she said closing the binder. As she began to walk away from Anastasia, the binder folded under her arm, as she headed to their table in the middle of the room.
"Hey" Anastasia said, gripping Clarke's shoulder pulling her back, "Don't you think I want to find the others?" She questioned hurt that Clarke wasn't going to include her in her plan, "It's the only thing I want, and you should know that"
"I know, i know" Clarke reassured, shaking her head, "I just thought that" she fumbled along the lines gripping the binder as she scanned down Anastasia's outfit, the dress, compared to her tracksuit, "Never mind" she let out clearing her voice, "you're right" she responded back with a light smile
"What was that?" Anastasia asked, "Why did you just give me that look" she questioned watching Clarke's eyes drift. Anastasia watch Clarke look at the true members of the Mount Weather community, looking at the girls laughing in their pretty dresses, before directing her eyes back to Anastasia, more importantly her dress, "Wait, Oh my" Anastasia breathed out of unbelievably, "You think I want to stay here" Clarke looked at Anastasia's flabbergasted appearance, changing her judgmental look to sympathetic one.
"No, not at" Clarke tried saying, cleaning up her mess.
"He's still out there, dead or alive, i'm going to find him" Anastasia replied, pointing at Clarke, then at her dress, "This, is playing along, something you should try, before they lock you up out of suspicion" Anastasia threatened.
"I'm sorry, Ana" Clarke replied, "You're right"
"Let's just find a way out" Anastasia uttered as Clarke nodded turning back around as they headed to the table where their people were sitting out. They both took spots by Jasper and Monty, as they inhaled their desserts.
"Pretend you're happy to see us" Clarke uttered as they took their seats, getting confused looks from Jasper and Monty.
"We are happy to see you guys" Jasper replied with a lighthearted smile.
"You have to try the chocolate cake" Monty said looking slyly over to Jasper as he pushed the plate over to Clarke.
"Oh, it's so on" Jasper scoffed, looking at Monty with a smile, dropping his fork.
"I'm not eating their food" Clarke replied pushing the plate away, getting concerned looks from the guys.
"This is serious" Anastasia remarked as Clark pulled out the binder with the map, laying it flatly on the table so they could all see it.
"They gave us a map with no exits" Clarke explained pointing to the ends of the map that just cut off, "I need you to tell me everything you've seen" she added looking up to the guys, "Every room, every hallway, every way out" she explained

"Way out?" Jasper questioned, "Look around you, there's no one hunting us here, first time in our lives we're not hungry" Jasper explained, "Why would we want to leave?" He asked jokingly looking over to Jasper.
"Because we still have friends out there who need our help" Anastasia exclaimed
"They're looking for survivors, and they're way better equipped to find them than we are" Monty butted in trying to defuse the situation.
"This place is too good to be true" Clarke retorted looking around.
"You're bumming me out" Jasper responded, playfully, "I'm, I'm gonna get more cake" he added standing up from his chair walking away with a half-smile plastered on his face. Anastasia watched him walk away towards a dim corner in the room. He eventually took a seat down next to a girl, that Anastasia didn't know, as they started a conversation.
"There's,there's a door" Monty uttered getting back both Clarke's and Anastasia attention, "I saw a door, when I was um" he broke noticing Clarke's and Anastasia inthralled eyes, "when I was taken from quarantine, there was a door, it said restricted, on it"
"I've got just the thing" Clarke spoke up, turning her head back around to Jasper and the unknown girl with a sneaky smile branded on her face, "Follow me" she whispered to Anastasia as she swiped her body around the chair standing up. Turning back to the table to grab her binder before heading over to the duo sitting in the dim, dark, corner. Anastasia followed behind Clarke, still confused at what she had planned. Talking to a member of Mount Weather and Jasper wasn't going to help them get out. She only followed Clarke, because Clarke walked with determination, and had a cunning look plastered her on her face. Clarke slid in between the circle table near them and the wall, placing her binder upon a pile of books, eyeing the pile before placing her welcome binder upon it.
"Hey" she spoke, getting the duo's attention, "It's Maya, right?" She asked pointing to the girl. The girl nodded in response, her demeanor fearful and taken back, "I just wanted to say sorry for this morning" Clarke responded. The girl stayed response-less, her head tilted up to Clarke, "I was scared and worried about my friends" Clarke added again her fingers dangling upon her binder, as her hand gripped it, "I hope you can understand that" Clarke grabbed the binder carefully, holding the bottom carefully checking the stack of books before leaving the table with a accomplished look spread across her face.
"Wha.." Anastasia tried to muttered out before Clarke dropped her binder, on a table.
"Come on, slowly" Clarke uttered motioning her to follow, flashing a shiny card in between her fingers as she headed towards the exit, followed by Anastasia who watched to see if anybody noticed before filing up the stairs towards the elevator, as Clarke pressed the key card as the door opened. She pressed one of the buttons as the elevator bounced before the machine hum starting as it slowly fell down.
"How did you know she had one" Anastasia asked as the elevator continued.
"I may have gotten into a little situation with her before I got out of quarantine" Clarke spoke up quickly, with guilt in her voice.
"What did you do?" Anastasia the questioned turning her head towards Clarke.
"It's a long story, let's just shorten it by saying that I may have threatened her life with a shard of glass, if she didn't take me to my friends" Clarke let out, "Didn't really leave a good first impression" she added jokingly.

"Neither did I" Anastasia uttered back as the elevator doors open, and the two girls stepped out making their way through the white industrial hallway hastily. Their eyes scanned everywhere for the door that Monty told them about. It felt like a never ending corridor of white. A color that is suppose to mean innocence, but the overkill of the color seems like they are covering something up. The light of the hallway, made everything seem visible but still there was still something hidden amongst the halls, that she couldn't place.
Suddenly like she tripped something, the wall flashed yellow and red, as a halting alarm sounded throughout the hall.
"Not prisoners, huh?" Clarke bit back, looking over to Anastasia, as she clenched her teeth, the alarms still sounding. The pick up their feet as they speed down the hallway out running the sounds of sirens. They bolted to the side, before catching a glimpse of guards flooding the hallways. Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw a door, with red throw across the body. Anastasia eyes filtered over to the door, it read.
"Come on!" Anastasia said pulling Clarke to the down, Clarke fumbled with the card swiping it along the metal placement, as the light flashed green. They pushed the door open, running in slamming it behind them. Clarke gripped the wires hanging above the door, ripping them, causing the sparks as the scanner on their side flashes red before sputtering to dead. Their eyes flashed over the entire area, two ways, one headed straight the other sent them straight up. Clarke tapped Anastasia shoulder, motioning for the stairs before she stepped on them starting her way up. They took multiple steps at a time, jogging up the steps till the reached the end, taking a corner where they were met face to face with a bunker like door, rusted over.
The sirens were blaring another robotic message as they raced to the door. Clarke gripped the lever, pulling with all her force. When it didn't budge, Anastasia moved over the wheel around the circle door, she yanked on the wheel, forcing it down. Till she felt the door lack.
"Now!" She yelled to Clarke with a nod as Clarke gripped the lever, latching onto it interlacing her hands, forming a stance to pull on the lever.
"Clarke!" Jasper's voice echoed through the halls, "No!" He yelled as he stopped along with Maya, out of breath, "Pull that lever, these people will die" he explained, as Clarke's fingers danced upon the lever. Anastasia was staring back and forth between them, fear both lacing their eyes, "Even a little radiation can kill them" he added, Jasper was shut up with a cock of a gun, as Anastasia flipped her head towards the sound to see Maya, holding a rifle in between her hands balanced on her shoulder.
"Don't make me shoot!" She yelled shaking while holding her gun aimed at Clarke.
"Wait!" Jasper shouted holding his hand out, as he stepped in front, "Wait, Don't do this" He said turning to Clarke.
"I don't believe them" Clarke choked out her hands fluttering off the lever.
"Why would they lie" Jasper questioned, "Listen to me" He uttered approaching Clarke, "We are all safe because of you" He replied, "We're safe" he replied pointing in between the three of us.
"Not all of us" Anastasia gasped out causing the attention to veer off.
"I'm the one that fired the rockets" coughed out, tears filling up his eyes, "Should I not have done that?" He questioned making Anastasia fill guilty, "Clarke when you pulled that lever, you saved lives" he explained turning back to Clarke, "Don't throw it away by pulling this one" Clarke lifted her hands from the lever, as the guards rushed into the hallway.
"There they are!" A guards yelled as they approached them with the guns aimed confidently.
"Hold it right there" another one shouted as Anastasia, Jasper and Clarke stay completely still
"Get your hands up!" They threw their hands up as the guards approached them, throwing Clarke and Anastasia on the ground, as they tied their hands around their back. The guards picked the girls up painfully, swiftly them off to a quiet room, where they were placed in before the guards left leaving the two girls alone.
"We'll find a way out, Ana" Clarke uttered breaking the complete silence of the room.
"Maybe Jasper is right" Anastasia spoke back keeping her head down. Her breath hitched as she heard Clarke sigh in response.
"What are you talking about!" Clarke replied shocked flashing up to Anastasia head, she couldn't see her face but she could feel Anastasia despair.
"We are safe here" Anastasia replied with a deep breath out.
"Ana, what about Be"
"Don't even!" Anastasia cursed back at Clarke bringing her eyes up to meet Clarke's, Clarke could finally seen the sadness laced in Anastasia's face as she breathed out those words, tears coming to the surface.
"If he's out there" Clarke tried to start again.
"What about don't even do you not get!" Anastasia yelled back, as Clarke fell back when Anastasia popped at her, "I can't keep living like this, the running, the hunting, the fighting, all of it" Anastasia let out, "I lost him because of all that, and i can't lose anyone else"
"But if he's out there" Clarke repeated again.
"Stop!" Anastasia yelled, "Just stop!" The door opened to the sight of two guards standing in the shadow of the light.
"Clarke Griffin, the president wants to see you" One of the guards said in a deep voice, as Clarke stood up. The guards ripped her arms towards them carrying her off slamming the door.
Leaving Anastasia with her thoughts was the worst thing they could've possibly done. After everything she went through, and the entire conversation with Clarke, Anastasia was in a circle of self-hatred, that led down an ugly road. She had experience these rounds of self-hatred before, the most important one being the one she had after her mom died, more importantly was killed by her father. At the time, she didn't blame her father for pushing the button, or the chancellor for not stopping him, Anastasia blamed herself. Now she is back, blaming herself but this time, if didn't take a lot of convincing to prove that she caused this, it was clear as day to her, she was the problem.
Another thing hit her, god she missed Bellamy, just his presence and touch made her feel better immediately. Hearing his annoying voice speak overly confident commands mad her eyes sparkle. The feeling of him gone, the fear of him being dead, was unbearable on her soul, a empty part of her that would always be there. She never knew what that would feel like, even when Wells died, she didn't feel anything like this. The face that she never had anyone that close to her, meant that she never felt the pain.
The only thing that came close to the feeling was the death of her mother. Anastasia only felt less of her mother's death because her father told her too, he would blame her mother for her death, that didn't stop her blame, but it made her slowly believe her mother was a terrible person.
This time, there was nobody standing next to her as she mourned Bellamy telling her that he cause this.
The emptiness was eating at her, like a parasitic worm trapped inside her, but instead of taking just her nutrients, it also took her sleep and stability. She wanted it to be over, if that meant never knowing what happened to Bellamy, she would find a way to survive, hopefully. Anastasia knew why she didn't like anybody close, because of the emptiness they leave when they do the same.
"Anastasia Kane" Her eyes filtered over to the now opened down as two guards stood, the faces hidden in the shadow, "The president would like to see you" they spoke nicer, Anastasia lifting herself up, to be taken by a guard. They walked exactly four doors over to stop in the middle of the hallway. One of the guards swipe his key card as the door scanned shine green, before he opened it, walking Anastasia into a poorly lit room.
"No cuffs" she heard the president's voice speak as he rose out of the shadows, the guards holding her loosened the clasps around her hands freeing her before following the other guards out of the room closing the door behind, "You paint?" He asked turning to a half finished painting dipping into a blue color as he continued to spread his brush over the canvas, "You know, your friends told me everything about you, and don't get me wrong they had a lot to say" he uttered, before stopping and turning around to meet Anastasia cautious gaze as she watched the president paint while she stood in the same room, "You're very impressive, I might add" he said with a grin before turning back to his painting, "But they couldn't tell me if you painted, not even Clarke" he added picking up more paint, continuing the same motions.
"Can't anyone be a painter?" Anastasia questioned, "A lot of modern artist, before the war" she spoke a break in her voice as she felt the pressure, wondering is this a test. She has been through a lot of test, and she knew what they all were like, and what she was going through now, felt like a test, "They, They, um, just sprayed random colors around a canvas, called it art" she stated finding her grasp on her words.
"Hah, a very interesting take on art I may say" President Wallace laughed setting his paint brush down grabbing a rag that laid upon the canvas, "So I'm guessing your not an artist" he replied pointing the rag at her before wiping his hands with it.
"I studied art, the classics, everything from the renaissances to modern day" she replied remembering the days where she learned about Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Van Gogh, "I didn't have time for art" she answered as her fingers move along the books in the room.
"That's right, studying to lead The Ark" he remarked setting the rag down as he navigated his way to a chair in the darkest corner of the room, "Take a seat" he uttered pointing to one of the two chairs placed in front of him, "I wasn't really taught how to lead, I just did" He added.
"Well, I wasn't taught how to lead my people on the ground, but I did" Anastasia bit back at him, "Chancellor's laws didn't help me, only one person did" She inhaled fighting back tears.
"Bellamy" he uttered as Anastasia shot her eyes at him gripping her seat viciously, crushing the metal between her fingers, "You people told me about him" he added, noticing her anger appearance, "I've lost people too, my mother and my sister" he spoke up with a soft voice, "I guess you know what the first one feels like" he added meeting Anastasia tear filled eyes as one broke clean running down her face, "I was 7 years old, when the first of what we call the outsiders appeared" he said, speaking of the grounders was a soft subject, "My father, this was his office at the time" he said motioning to the room they were sitting in, "believe it meant, that the Earth was survivable again, and so, he opened the doors" president said his voice filling with grief, "Within a week, 54 people we dead from the exposure, My mother and my sister among them" he said meeting Anastasia sympathetic glance, "You know you look like her, my sister" he said, "She was just like you too, smart, driven, kind, a good person"
"I..." Anastasia was lost for words, she wanted to say something but she didn't know what to.
"Loss, pain, regret" Wallace carried on, not missing a beat, "Time eases these things, but only time it is ever truly gone is when I'm painting" he spoke looking at his easel.
"What is this about?" Anastasia questioned looking at him.
