《Fallen: b.b (book 1) REWRITING》chapter twenty-three

was starting off to be too easy. The gunners kept to the front, while the normal campers stayed behind. Many of the campers were sharing their plans of what they would do when they got to the coast. Anastasia kept her eye on the forest around her that was spanning for miles and miles. She was wary about the path ahead, it all seemed to easy.
"Ana?" She turned her head to see Clarke, beside her, "What are you thinking about?" She asked with a perplexed look on her. As the gunners stopped, suddenly scanning the area. The gunners began again slowly up, joking again with each other, while Jasper expressed his concern.
"This is easy" Anastasia let out, "too easy" she added looking into Clarke's eyes with worry. Also like Anastasia commanded it, something happened up by the gunners. Anastasia saw blood splatter.
"Grounders!" She heard Jasper yell as the hoard of campers began running back as they pushed past Anastasia knocking her around.
She feel into shock as she could finally see the dead camper, Drew. He had a throwing star lodge in his head, as blood flooded onto the ground. Anastasia read about throwing stars but they were never like that and they were used back before the modern times. She felt her chest get heavy, she struggled to breath. Her eyes flickered back to the cave she was trapped in with Lincoln as the grounders that were out to get her.
Her eyes caught sight of a shadowy figure roaming the woods, she stared at it as she was frozen with fear. The creature would disappear and reappear closer to her, but the figure still renamed hidden by the forest shadow. She was preparing herself for the confrontation when the grounder, a hand from behind gripped her wrist and pulled her away from the grounder towards the camp.
The yank pulled her out of her shock state, as her feet began running back towards the camp. She felt her breath caught up to her, she was gasping for more air while she was running. She collapsed to the ground as soon as she saw the gate, displacing the ground beneath her, Anastasia placed her hand on her chest as she took deep breaths, finding her way back up to her feet.
"Shut the gate!" She heard screamed through the camp, as the rest of the camp filed in, followed by the closing of the gate. The chaos went on around her as Clarke and Bellamy took a spot upon the watch looking out in the forest. Anastasia began walking closer towards the tower they stood on. She stepped on taking a spot next to Bellamy, as he kept his gun trained on the forest that laid outside the camp.
"Where are they" Bellamy asked concerned, "Why aren't they attacking?"
"Because we're doing exactly what they want" Anastasia stared at awe noticing there was nothing in the woods but her eyes would flash around every time she saw a shadow. She turned her head, looking past Bellamy to Clarke, seeing that Clark thought the same thing.
"What are you talking about?" Bellamy questioned not understanding what the two girls were talking about. Clarke turned around the face the camp
"Lincoln said the scouts would be first to arrive" Clarke stated talking to Finn.
"If it's just scouts, we can fight our way through" Octavia replied, taking a step forward in a proactive way, "That's what Lincoln would do"
"We're done doing what that grounder would do" Bellamy exclaimed, stepping down from the watch, walking towards his sister, "We tried it and now Drew is dead" he stated, scanning towards the body of Drew that they picked up bringing back to the camp still with the star in his skull, "You want to be next?" He questioned angrily.

"That grounder saved our lives" Finn stepped in, opposing Bellamy once again, "I agree with Octavia" he added clearly adding to Bellamy's frustration, "For all we know, there's one scout out there" he stated.
"One scout with insanely good aim" Jasper retorted snarky.
"Clarke" Octavia pleaded, "Ana" she turned to the other girl, "We can still do this" she stated
"Looking to you" Bellamy added, "what is it gonna be?" He questioned, "Run and get picked off out in the open, or stand up and fight back?" Clarke took a deep breath before looking to Anastasia as they jumped off watch.
"Clarke" Finn began, "If we're still here when Tristan gets here" He tried to explain grabbing her.
"Lincoln said "scouts"" Clarke stated, looking to Anastasia.
"More than one" Anastasia spoke with a losing of breath.
"He said get home before the scouts arrive" she quoted, "Finn they're already here" she gave a wary glance.
"Looks like you've got your fight" Anastasia stated walking to Bellamy. Bellamy nodded before the controlling and military-like side took him over.
"Ok then, This is what we've been preparing for!" He shouted into the crowd, "Kill them before they kill us" he added riling up the crowd even more, "Gunners, to your post, use tunnels to get in and out" He directed, "From now on, this gate stays closed" the campers began running all over the place trying to get to there post. Anastasia watched the planned out movements of the campers as they rushed into the tunnels scurrying out while others found spots on the towers pushing past Anastasia to get to them.
"We won't be able to beat them, we need a plan" Clarke uttered looking at the rag-tag militia of campers. She spotted Bellamy, walking over to him pulling Anastasia along, she had determination and frustration in her walk, she caught his attention when she arrive, standing in front of him, "So how the hell do we do this?" She asked him with her arms folded.
"Follow me" he replied as they walked past the running teens as they hurried into the drop ship, meeting Raven once again, "okay, listen" he spoke interrupted by Finn storming into the drop ship. He fell into silence calming down at taking a stop by Raven in the hammock, "We got 25 rifles with 20 rounds each, give or take roughly 500 rounds of ammo" he stated, folding his arms over each other, as they stared at the model of the camp, "While you two were gone, we made some improvements" he added, "Thanks to Raven, the gully is mined" he stated pointing to the table outside the modeled camp.
"Partially mined" she hissed out, "Thanks to Murphy" she replied snarky with anger in her voice.
"Still" Bellamy let out, "It's the main route in" he stated, "if the grounders use it, we'll know" he explained before picking up the small capsules, "She also built grenades"
"It's not many" Clarke stated looking at the bombs.
"Again, thank you, Murphy" Raven spoke again.
"We'll make them count" Bellamy said setting the grenade down, "If the grounders make it through the front gate, guns and grenades should force them back"
"And then?" Clarke questioned worried,
"Then we shut the doors and pray" Raven remarked.
"And pray what?" Anastasia questioned, "That the ship keeps them out?" She asked, "Because it won't, they break through the gate, we're done for" she explained.
"Then let's not let them get through the gate" Bellamy responded pulling out his radio, he pressed on the button holding it close to his mouth, "All foxholes, listen up" he began, "Keep you eyes open and ears open, inflict casualties, as many as possible" he demanded, "You can hold them off long enough to make them turn back" he explained, "that's the plan" he added removing his finger from the button setting the radio down.

"That's always your plan" Finn remarked bitterly, as Anastasia began looking at the map in detail, she knew that Bellamy's plan wouldn't work, spending years learning military procedures. She knew how to look, and they had to be a way to make it out of here alive, they couldn't beat the grounders in a actual battle, they would have to use their one strength, technology. What they have wouldn't work it's not enough to hold them off forever at least with their quantity, "Just like the bomb at the bridge" Finn finished, as Anastasia eyes landed on the drop ship, she began forming this idea in her head, but it seemed easy, and doable.
"Damn right" Bellamy retorted, "Got a better idea?" He said wanting to agitate Finn, Anastasia began to become more shocked by the simplicity of the plan as it continued to form in her head, nothing they have encountered was this easy, so how could it be like that now, she questioned.
"It can't be that simple?" She let out getting the others attention. Anastasia felt their eyes on her as she met their confused glazes. She took a deep breath turning to Raven, "You said there's fuel in those rockets, right?, enough to build 100 bombs"
"I also said we've got no gunpowder left" Raven replied
"I don't want to build a bomb" Anastasia stated, "I want to blast off" she added getting Raven's interest.
"Draw them in close" Raven began as the plan formed in her head too, "Fire the rockets" she continued, "Ring of Fire"
Barbecued grounders" Bellamy replied with a smirk creeping on his face, "I like it"
"Will it work?" Clarke asked Raven
"The wiring's a mess down there, but yeah" Raven replied, "You give me enough time, I'll cook them real good" she remarked with a cunning smile spread on her face.
"Okay, good, Raven, Finn, Clarke, and Ana, get the rockets ready" Bellamy directed, "I'll watch the posts" he said as Clarke and Finn went to help Raven up to get her to the hatch were they could get to the wires under the drop ship.
"Bell" Anastasia said walking towards him as he stood at the end of the drop ship, "I should be out there, gunner, I'm the best damn shot you've got" she stated.
"Hell no, the gunners are first in line when the grounders attack" He retorted, even shocked she would ask for such a thing.
"I know, but I'm not going to sit around while my camp is being attacked, not again" she responded, taking them back to Murphy, the helplessness, she has felt the moment she stepped off of that drop ship, as the Ark's princess.
"This isn't up for debate, Ana" Bellamy replied, with a stern flat face, "I said no, I'm not losing you to a grounder" he placed a hand on her cheek as his hand left the gun, letting it fall. Anastasia watched the gun dangle from the strap around his shoulders.
"You're right" she replied, Anastasia let her hands fall onto his shoulders, "This isn't up for debate!" She yelled gripping the strap off the gun unlatching it as she grabbed the rifle in her hands. Bellamy's hand fell from her face, as he stood back with the gun pointed at him, "I'm sorry Bell, but no matter how much I begged, you wouldn't have let me out on the front line, but I need to do this for myself" she explained as she rushed out of the drop ship with her gun in her hand. She founded her way to the low wall as she jumped over it to the north foxhole held in the lines in front of the camp. She found the foxhole kneeling as she entered, both Miller, Octavia, andMonroe looked at her in confusion.
"What the hell are you doing here princess?" Miller asked, "Bellamy know you're here?"
"I'm fighting" She remarked, taking her spot, "and he knows, more or less" she added turning her attention towards the forest line or what she could see from the slot.
"Great, can't wait to hear Bellamy's response for letting you stay in this foxhole" Miller remarked making Anastasia smile a little bit, with his focus still on the trees.
It seemed so peaceful with sounds of birds in the distant, and the seemingly warm day, with a semi-moist forest ground. Anastasia never was able to take in the beauty of the earth, but everything seemed indestructible with the wind blowing throwing the forest. She knew that in these woods the grounders hid, waiting to attack, but she only felt a responsibility to fight, not fear. She had been afraid of the grounders, the earth, death, and the Ark for too long, that she even forgot the see the beauty of the earth, and the people in the camp.
Her breath was taken when memories of Bellamy from the Ark to the earth played in her mind, her heart quickened it's pace, as the forest wasn't what she was seeing through her scope. She tightened her grip around her gun, trying to keep a steady composure as the feelings and scenes washed over her. His last words to her, drowning Anastasia, as she finally exhaled, blinking as the forest began to form back into her view. She caught a shadowy figure float in her view, she removed the scope from her eye as she took a full blink, thinking it was another figment of her imagination.
Boom Boom Dum
The sounds of drums floated to their ears, as she came back
"They're here" Miller remarked as he got ready to fire, she looked around her, noticing that Octavia was gone.
"Where's Octavia" her voice melded with a rougher voice as she turned to the side to see Bellamy take Octavia's spot next to her.
"She left 5 minutes ago" Miller replied, "Didn't say where" he added, looking at Bellamy, "she thinks she's a damn samurai" Miller retorted causing Anastasia to smile at his joke.
"You see anything?" Bellamy asked
"No" Monroe replied, "What the hell are they waiting for?" She questioned angrily.
"The longer they wait, the better" Bellamy stated, "It's about buying time for Raven" static echoed through the silent forest
"I see them!" A stressed voice called over the radio, "They're moving, I count two, three, no wait, there's more!" He sounded afraid, "I don't know, man, there's too many of them" a shot rang through the forest, echoing through the radio.
"Who was that?" Bellamy asked Miller,
"Sterling, i think" he replied, "south foxhole" he added, nodding to Bellamy,
"South foxhole, south foxhole" Bellamy urgently shouted into the radio, "report now"
"Yeah" a static voice replied, "yeah, we're ok" a relief gasp feel from Bellamy's lips, "They didn't attack, It's like shooting at ghost" Sterling added breathing heavily.
"Shadows" Anastasia mumbled, as her eyes were flooded with a sight of multiple shadows.
"There! I see them!" Monroe shouted, Monroe took a second before firing off multiple shots, along with Miller. Anastasia stared at they direction they were running, Sterling was right, they weren't attacking.
"Stop!" Anastasia screamed at the two firing off shots, "Stop!"
"Hold your fire!" Bellamy shouted, "Hold your fire!" They slowly stopped shooting, after hitting nothing. The ringing stopped after silence feel back over the forest, "Reload" Bellamy requested, "Now!" He demanded as he stared at them removing their clips but not loading another one.
"Those were our last clips" Miller spoke, throwing his empty clip aside on the forest floor, "we should pull back"
"No" Bellamy replied, "If this position falls, they'll walk right to the front door" he stated.
"Ana, how much do you have?" He turned to her.
"Probably a full clip"she responded, "but I mean you should already know the actual number" she teased
"Don't shoot unless you have a clear shot" he explained, disregarding her comment. They all settled down, and took their spots, Anastasia keeping a steady hold on her gun, "You shouldn't have come out here" He whispered to her.
"At least i'm doing something" she retorted,
"You would've been helping fire up the rockets, your idea" Bellamy replied, dropping his aim to look at Anastasia.
"I would've been sitting around watching Clarke and Raven fix the rockets" she bit back, "I'm more useful here"
"You're also more likely to get hurt" Bellamy replied, "This isn't a game or some exercise, this is war" he belted out.
"You think I don't know that!" She yelled getting the attention of the others in the foxhole who were trying their best to avoid the quarrel between the duo, "You claim you'll prove that i can trust you, but how can I do that when you can't even trust me?"
"It's not that I don't trust you" He softened his voice leaning in closer to the girl, "I just want you to be safe"
"I can protect myself"
"I know you can, but it makes me feel better when i know you're safe" Bellamy uttered.
Static erupted "We need back up!" Jasper shouted over the radio, "Raven our mines actually worked"
"Jasper we need you in the drop ship right now" Clarke replied, as Bellamy picked up the radio.
"Negative" Bellamy replied, "We can't give up the west woods"
"The west woods are mined, Bellamy" Clarke retorted, "the grounders just figure that out" she stated with reluctance in her voice, "Jasper, get in here" she added before the radio went dead. She watched the grounders through her scope watching them as they never attacked but sill shots were being fired.
"All gunners!" Jasper voice rang over the radio with confidence, "listen up, they're making us waste our bullets, don't shoot when they're running laterally" he explained,
"Jasper's right" Bellamy retorted into the radio, "Don't fire until you're sure it's attack" he shouted, "Repeat, don't fire until you are sure"
"West foxhole pulling back" Jasper added before the radio went silent. It stayed silent for awhile but then the radio began going crazy with gunshots and people yelling to fall back. That's when she saw them, the hoard of grounders running towards the foxhole.
"Here they come!" Miller yelled as they got closer,
"Fall back!" Monroe yelled as she took off, with Miller running after her. Anastasia took a deep breath and began firing, causing some to fall but the hoard was still coming by the time she was out. The jumped over the foxhole grabbing Anastasia by the throat as she flailed before smashing the grounder's head with her empty rifle. He fell down, as she turned to find Bellamy locked by the neck, she instinctively clicked her gun trying to fire, bringing attention to her. The grounder turned to meet her eyes before she watched a blade slide through one of them. Octavia stood over him taking the blade out.
"Admit it" she said helping her brother up, "You want one" she joked, as an arrow flew by nicking her side as she fell back a little.
"You're hit!" Bellamy yelled holding her up as Anastasia ran to her side, "Miller, fall back, now" he stated as Miller began back to the camp, "Ana" he looked her in the eyes, "you too, fall back" he uttered.
"No" she replied her voice getting caught, "I'm going to help you with Octavia" she stated grabbing a hold of Octavia, "O, can you walk?" She asked holding onto her friend, she replied with a groan, as Bellamy latched onto her.
"O, hey, hold onto me, let us get you behind that wall" Bellamy said as he lifted up Octavia as they began their journey back to the camp. Anastasia followed behind, taking a knife that was pocket in a grounder before following. She dropped the gun on the forest floor, keeping up with Bellamy's pace.
They reached a high hill near the camp, while Anastasia looked out to see grounders fighting grounders.
"What the hell is that" Octavia asked

Magriculture
When Aurum Industries announced the first Full Immersion Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (FIVRMMORPG if you're hip) Limitless Online, most people saw it as an opportunity to live out their sword and sorcery fantasies. John, however, saw it as the opening of a new and as of yet uncrowded job market. One he was willing, and eager, to exploit. Determined to make money through virtual hard work and effort, John sets his sights not on the heights of magic or the perfection of the sword, but instead upon the tilling of the soil and the sowing of seeds as he explores the wide and wonderful world of magical agriculture all from the comfort of his own bed. Disclaimer: This is, at best, a very rough draft. I have already had to do one major rewrite and several minor rewrites of entire sections of the story, and it is a virtual certainty I will have to do re-writes again. Such changes may be as small as editing a few numbers (such as going back and changing how much mana an object holds) or it may force me to re-write entire chapters (this has happened once already, and I'm really hoping it doesn't happen again, but... life). Minor re-writes will probably never be posted here. Major rewrites probably will.Anyway, what this boils down to is: If you're looking for a fully cohesive story with few to no errors and publisher level editing, this is not the story for you. If your looking for a cohesive plot that's more than "Man farms, man farms, man farms well, man maybe makes money" you're probably also in the wrong place, but I will attempt to entertain you anyway.
