𝓝ightfall came briskly, and as the chill began to kick in Anastasia started to head back to camp. She saw the glow of a burning fire something she had only see in books.
The yellow mixed with the orange to created a perfect harmony and it was mesmerizing, the rest of the people were huddled around it as shouts and hollers could be heard from the distance. Wells approached from the side, his limp still present by getting better as time went by.
"Find any water?" Anastasia asked staring at the fire as it burned into the dark night sky.
"No, i'll look tomorrow" he said trying to find her face in the darkness.
"What do you think they're doing?" She asked him still taken with the burning flame.
"Nothing good" Wells replied as he continued forward.
He began pushing people through as Anastasia followed this time people didn't part for her, they gave her nasty looks as she made it to the end of the circle. That's when she saw what they were all shouting about, a girl was kneeling as the guy who fought Wells pried off her wristband. He then threw it into the fire watching it burn.
"Who's next" Bellamy asked walking around the fire victorious.
"What the hell are you doing?" Wells asked looking angrily at Bellamy as he limped forward to him.
"What does it look like? We're liberating ourselves!" Bellamy screamed causing the crowd to go wild.
"It looks like you're trying to get us all killed" Wells replied, "the communication system is dead, these wristbands are all we got, take them off and the ark will think we're dying, that it's not save to follow"
"What do you think we're doing chancellor?" Bellamy questioned and then he looked at Anastasia. "Wait never mind, you aren't the next chancellor" Bellamy teased, this angered Wells up and he knew it. Wells stormed off through the crowd leaving Anastasia to take all the judgement. She was about to rush off, as the fire grew bigger, blinding her vision. She knew what happened another wristband was throw into the fire.
"We can take care of ourselves, can't we?" Bellamy yelled into the crowd, earning shouts and hollers back.
"You think this is a game? Those aren't just our friends and our parents up there, they're our farmers, our doctors, or engineers" Anastasia said looking at the crowd, "i don't care what he tells you, we won't survive on our own and besides if it really is safe, how could you not want the rest of our people to come down?"
"My people are already down here" Bellamy said "Those people locked my people up, Those people floated my mother for the crime of having a second child, your people did that" his last world slipped out like poison.
There was a obvious class system in the Ark, and it usually wasn't brought to light on the Ark, but know when they are free, and no longer have to follow the Ark's rules. They finally had the power to say what they've always wanted to.
"They didn't write the laws" Anastasia replied looking into Bellamy's eyes, they were different from when he found her running away from the guards in the Ark.
He now looked like one of those human less guards. He no longer had a certain twinkle in his eye that seemed to bring kindness into his face. The fire mixed with his passion for freedom and chaos along with it, something dwindled in the back but the anger roared forward hiding the secret.

"No, they enforced them, but not anymore, not here" Bellamy said as he amped up the crowd "here, there are no laws" that riled them up even more. Anastasia could see the beginning of the chaotic end of their paradise on earth, pretty soon they will be killing each other. That is the natural progression.
"Here, we do whatever the hell we want, whenever the hell we want" he walked closer to Anastasia and looked her in the eyes he could see her light blue eyes become terrified. Instead of the natural process of water putting out of the fire, the fire burned through her eyes, creating the diamonds in her eyes.
"Now you don't have to like it, princess, you can even try to stop it or change it, kill me, you know why?" He said grabbing her chin gently. Her soft delicate features clashed with his rough and sharp ones. She tried to wrangle out of his grip, but he kept a firm hold of her face.
"Whatever the hell we want!" The guy from the fight shouted from the crowd causing the people to break out in fits of screams. The crowd seemed to begin to collapse on her, it was suffocating. Bellamy looked at her and then looked at his mob.
"Whatever the hell we want, princess" he said whispering in her ear.
Just then rain fell upon Anastasia's head but she was too scared to do celebrate. People cheered for the rain as Anastasia broke out of the crowd escaping to the drop ship. She wiped her watery eyes as she heard footsteps on the ledge into the drop ship.
"We should collect the water" she said clearing off the rest of her tears.
"Whatever the hell you want" the voice sneered, she turned around to find the guy from the fight at the opening of the drop ship soggy.
"We haven't had a proper introduction, I'm John Murphy but you can call me Murphy" he said holding out his hand. Anastasia looked at it in the dark questioning if she should take it.
"Come on princess, i thought they would've taught you manners from all those years of chancellor training" he said stilling holding out his hand. She met her hand with his and he grabbed in violently shaking it. He pulled her close and whispered in her ear
"I will kill you for what your father did to my father, he begged for mercy and all you father did was watch him as he pressed the button that sent him out" he said crushing her hand, "We can start out with removing you wristband, i want your father to feel want it feels like to lose someone you love" Murphy gripped her wrist pulling on her bracelet as he tried to wedge it out.
"No!" Anastasia screamed as it echoed off the walls in the drop ship. She saw another dark figure approached the drop ship behind Murphy.
"Is something wrong, Murphy?" The rugged voice said, a voice that could only belong to Bellamy.
"Princess wants to aid in the cause" Murphy said wedging into the bracelet harder.
"Actually, i don't think she does" Bellamy said causing Murphy to stop. "I think you should go help the others remove their bands" he said dismissing Murphy back to the now extinguished fire.

"I don't know why you did that, but thank you" she said moving back into the drop ship.
"I have some manners, and i know how I should treat a lady, i mean a princess" he said jokingly
"Yeah you're a real man" she replied gripping her wrist trying to take away the pain.
"I will take that as a compliment, even though it isn't" Bellamy muttered stroking his ego, "I know you expect to lead but, you're not going to be chancellor down here" he
"I don't want to be chancellor!" Anastasia screamed banging her fist on the steel walls, reaching her breaking point.
"That's a joke?" Bellamy asked not believing her.
"No" Anastasia shook her head, "I'm second pick on everyone's hit list down here" she said leaning up against the steel walls, "They were stupid sending me down here expecting that I would be able to lead"
"I was meaning to ask you about that" Bellamy said ignoring the calls from his faithful followers.
"I don't want to talk about it, and even if I did tell you about my story i would expect you to share yours and I don't think you'd be up for that" Anastasia replied looking him up and down.
The calls were getting louder as they seemed to have started the fire up again after the rain stopped, they started chanting his name as the flames grew with intensity, the louder the mob got the bigger the fire got, like the screams controlled it.
"You should go, you're mob calls for you" Anastasia said pointing towards the flame.
"Yeah I know" Bellamy sighed "I'll see you around princess" he uttered before walking out.
The majority of the mob feel asleep by the fire crumpled into balls as the fire sent them warmth, Anastasia found Wells again seeing he collected water and they both fell asleep amongst the trees with the stars up above.
Anastasia found it hard to sleep with the uncomfortableness of the dirt ground and the aching from her wrist from when Murphy tried to take it off. Without any medicine or any ice she had to suffer through the pain as it added to her uncomfortably. She tried a million different sleeping styles but she couldn't find the right one that took the pressure off of her wrist.
She couldn't find herself in a deep sleep, and so every sound was amplified in her mind from the wind blowing the the crack of branches on the ground.
She heard the unpleasant sound of Wells's jacket move over his tree stump causing her to open her eyes. She laid their petrified as she saw Bellamy kneeling with his hand over Wells's mouth waving a gun in his face as he kicked him up.
Anastasia laid there in shock with her eyes shut, thinking she was the next one on their list. She waited till the scuffling was silenced to open her eyes to find herself all along. Anastasia balanced her weight on her one good wrist sliding her body up the tree, as she looked around not being able to tell a brush from a bundle of leafs in the dark. She could hear the sound of voices amplify throughout the night, the scared voice of Wells was apart of the voices. She pushed herself to her feet following the voices trying to find her way in the dark. She didn't know where she was until she say a clearing in the woods she was standing in that let a large amount of moonlight into the forest for her.
Movement in the clearing got her attention as she watched Bellamy's minions push Wells down on a rock focusing on his wrist that sported the band. She could barely hear them but she knew what was happening when Murphy held his arm down pulling out a knife. In a blink second, Anastasia was running down the hill out of the tree line aimed for Wells.
"No!" She screamed watching him struggling to get away. "Stop! You can't do this!" She cried as Bellamy reached up to grab her, he held onto her tight fighting her as she tried to break free.
She continuing screaming as Murphy grabbed Wells's wrist and began forcing the bracelet off. She looked at Bellamy in horror as he kept a straight face while birds spilt through the trees being sounded by Anastasia cries as their wings shined in the light shining down.
"Don't! The Ark will die!" She screamed.
"God can you shut that bitch up, Bellamy, or do i have to" Murphy threatened stopping the removal of Wells's bracelet sporting his knife at her, putting it near his neck as he slid it across the air.
"Shut up, Murphy and do your job" Bellamy shouted angrily, loosening his grip on her for a second holding her in more of a comforting way. He tightened it the next second as he began pulling her away not faulting under her resentment.
She couldn't help and that hit her hard, she watched someone she's known her whole life be held against his will, and all she could do was scream and it didn't help anything. Wells still got hurt, and now the Ark thinks Wells is died. Is she next?
She wondered she knows how bad losing Wells would be for the Ark, she couldn't image herself, and she couldn't image what would happen if Clarke had her wristband taken off.
Bellamy finally let go of her when they got back to camp, she began hitting his chest furiously, smacking it as tears began to form in her eyes. He tried to grab her hands but she pulled away from him. Anastasia fell down a tree, with her hands collapsed on her face. He squat down to her level, watching her breakdown.
"Why?" She questioned with a mumbled voice that was stuck in her hands.
"You wouldn't understand" he replied looking away to the tree line not being able to look at her. Anastasia looked up at him in shock, as she met his eyes when he came back from his scenery break.
"I wouldn't, cause I don't see the good in this" Anastasia agreed,
"That's good" Bellamy sat on the ground fully, "You're good, princess" he sat setting a hand on her shoulder before sitting up walking into the darkness.

This is primarily a story exploring what it means to be human, using a lens of a hopefully real-feeling fantasy world. This story is not a power fantasy or a traditional Litrpg , while it has elements of these genres, it will focus on how these tropes would influence real people and possibly Redshirt will break some of these tropes along the way. There will be a variety of different characters and perspectives, some you hate, some you love, and some that will frustrate. Just as all people do. I don't believe there will be anything overly traumatic or explicit, but it's better to be safe than sorry. There will be some heavy topics explored, the characters views do not reflect the authors; however, if there is an issue in how I present/understand these issues please do tell me, and I will try my best to rectify it.
