Kane traced the coalition brand on his arm, his thoughts filled with the future they might've had.

"Could have worked." Lincoln commented noticing where Kane's focus was. "Especially with Nia by your side."

"Death can be an act of unity, too. We don't break. We don't show fear. The people will remember." Kane spoke with the two that were sentenced alongside him. He wanted to believe that their deaths would hold meaning among them.

"Chancellor on deck." Was announced making them realize their time had come.

"It's time." Pike told them as they began to open the door.

This causes the others to get anxious as they jumped to their feet. Lincoln acted too quick to calm them down.

"They're here to take me. You must not resist." He told them hoping to listen.

"I can't protect them without you." One called out frightened to be left in charge of all the others.

"Listen to me. You are a warrior. Stay strong. When you leave find Nia she'll keep you safe." Lincoln reassured making everyone stay where they were. They all trusted him and his intentions, why shouldn't they now?

After they were cuffed they were all lead down the halls taken to meet the reaper. But as they passed Harper, Kane kept eye contact and something in her eyes suggested otherwise. A plan was underway.

Back in the cave, Bellamy was more anxious as time went by. His sister was in Arkadia risking her life to save others. Nia was outside not speaking or looking at him. He wanted to talk with her, to ask how the baby was doing or even to just give him a quick glance.

"Indra, please. She has no idea what she's facing in there. Pike has tripled his security. There's surveillance everywhere. He'll see her coming." Bellamy pleased and informed. He had sworn to protect his sister and he couldn't do that tied up in this cave.

"Good, we're counting on that." Indra added knowing the details of the plan they had put in place.

"He still trusts me. If anything goes wrong, we can use that." He tried reasoning.

"I saw where you earned that trust. On the battlefield, where you massacred my brothers and sisters." Indra stated angrily.

"Should I have let Pike kill you?" Bellamy asked remembering how she lied there wounded and how he talked Pike into letting her live.

"Why didn't you?" She wondered why they hadn't killed her like they did with the others.

"The same reason you haven't used that sword on me." Bellamy said knowing they had the same reasoning.

"Octavia and Nia." Indra clarified and it was true. The two held a spot in the warrior and she took them into inconsideration, especially since she knew of Nia's pregnancy.

"We are running out of time. Cut me loose. She could die in there." Bellamy was determined to find a way to help his sister save the others.

But to them he couldn't be trusted. He did after all help Pike kill the army.

"Then Octavia kom Skaikru will earn the warrior's death you denied me." Indra stated still standing by their decision to leave him chained.

Meanwhile, back inside Arkadia their escape had been going as plan at least till the last minute. Their escape route was blocked until Monty's voice came over the radio steering the guard's in a different direction. This allowed them to get to the crawlspace that lead to their freedom.

They would live to see another day but that was not what Pike wanted. He still wanted to make an example to cause the fear in people so that their trust still laid in him. So he thought of way to achieve that.

"I have a message for the traitors in this camp. There will be an execution today. Either turn yourselves in or the other Grounder prisoners will die in your place." He had used this plan before to get Lincoln to give himself up for the sake of his people. And with Kane being empathic for the Grounders, one of them was bound to give themselves up.

Lincoln, Kane, and Octavia had been listening to the radio as they almost got into the crawlspace. Octavia feared the worst as she tried to hurry and get Lincoln inside.

"Let's go." Octavia grabbed ahold of his arm but Lincoln pulled back. She dreaded the look she saw in his eyes. "No, wait." She stopped him before he could walk away.

"I can't let them die because of me." Lincoln made his decision his only regret would be to not say good-bye to his sister.

"Lincoln, please. We're almost out. Nia's pregnant and she needs you." Octavia tried to plead with him hoping he'd come with her. By revealing the current state of his sister she'd hope he'd change his mind and go to her.

The news of Nia was rather shocking to Lincoln. He had not expected to hear such news in that manner. He saw how Nia acted with Jade and Fox and knew that one day she would be a great mother to her own. But what he had not pictured was he wouldn't be able to see her become one. Or even to see how the child would grow. The thought made his heart clench but he couldn't allow others who are innocent be killed because of him leaving. He wouldn't live with that guilt.

"I know what you're feeling, but they're searching the station. We need to go, now." Kane tried to persuade the warrior into coming with them.

"You should." Lincoln finalized his decision to them. He would give himself up for the others there. He could only hope that Nia would understand.

"Fine. I'm going with you. We fight together." Octavia said not wanting to lose him this way but if he chose to do this she would be there with him.

"I love you." Lincoln told her as he admired the strong spirit inside her. That's what he loved about her, her strength that had only deepen since her time on the ground.

They shared a kiss to seal their love but Lincoln would not allow her to sacrifice herself like he would for them. She had a whole life to live and he would not be the cause of a short life for her. He grabbed ahold of the reaper stick that hung on her belt and gave her the dosage.

"No." Octavia gasped out once she realized what he had done. She would lost the man she loved. But her world faded into darkness as Lincoln caught her.

"What are you doing?" Kane asked surprised at what he had done.

"The same thing you'd do for your people. Just get her out of here." Lincoln told him knowing he'd have an understanding. A part of him grateful to be able to spend his last moments looking at the one he loved but there was another one dear to him who would never get the same option. "Tell Nia, I love you and I'll always been watching out for her." He told Kane wishing he could see the girl one last time.

"Stay strong." Kane spoke admiring the warrior in front of him. Lincoln had always stood for what he believed in and that's what made his will to fight so strong.

'You too." Lincoln replied back before turning and leaving them to go.

As he walked the hall, he thought of his life and all that had happened in it. He thought of his sister and how she loved the butterfly field. How he held her at night when the ghosts of her kills came to haunt her. He was proud of the woman and warrior she had become. He wished to see her children grow and help instill the knowledge they knew in them. His only hope was that she was kept from becoming the monster that lurked inside them. Their father's spirit lingered inside them making them stronger and ruthless than any warrior ever seen. But the kind heart of their mother kept them from that path.

Pike and a load of guards approached him as he held his arm out wide and got to his knees. He would meet his death with no fear in his eyes. He would accept it for the sake of other's lives.

Next he thought of Octavia and how lucky he was to have her. From the moment he saw her, he saw the beauty in her soul. The once scared girl now not afraid of a fight. They had faced challenges but were able to make it through with them side by side. Her strength would only grow until she became a leader once would need.

They had taken him out to the patch where Alec once laid. His eyes glanced over the blood of his fallen friend. Alec had been true and loyal to their clan and his love for Nia. He hadn't deserved the death he was given. He should have been fighting to protect the ones he loved not taken to his knees.

The chancellor spoke to him but he had no words for him. He glanced up at the sky and saw the girls he loved. "May we meet again."

The sound of the gun echoed around them as the group that had escaped watched the warrior fall to his side. A loyal friend died to save others. May his spirit live on in those he touched around him.

Life was changing for Nia as she felt it stir inside her. She was a person who cared deeply for those she loved. Her spirit struggling with it's hold as another fought to dominate. The other enraged with what others had done to her people, her friends. But the one holding on was because of the one person she couldn't bear to look at. He had betrayed her trust and acted against her. But still the love she held for him burned inside her.

She wanted to cry, scream, or shout but instead remained silent as she battled her demons. She remember the time when the darkness won. Her small number of markings grew in a day before Lexa pulled her back into herself. She had fought endless to keep it hidden but with a friend gone and her family captured, she was losing her grip.

It was till she heard the horn that she knew her battle would be at an end. The horn that only had one meaning as it was carried through the trees. Another part chipped away as she thought of it.

Lexa, her commander, her friend, her sister, gone. Taken from her without her knowledge. The two were born together and survived together. She remembered their training before Lexa was taken in and how glad she was when the girl would return to train with her again. How they loved the forest and how free it had been. Then Lexa was called to lead and Nia swore to be by her side. They had fought wars together and loved one another. Now, she would only remain in her memories.

She bowed her head and whispered to the wind, "Your fight is over."

Indra was grabbing her things ready to leave once she heard the horn born through. All their initial thoughts were of Nia and if she had heard. Not a moment later she entered and grabbed her bag as well.

"What is it?" Bellamy asked still confused at the horn and their movements.

"A new commander has risen." Indra informed her eyes settled on Nia.

Bellamy looked at her as well and was overcome with guilt. Another person had been taken from her and he wasn't able to comfort her. "Nia." He said carefully but received no answer. He wanted her to respond in any way. But he wanted to hold her and comfort her in any way she needed. But it wasn't the comfort she needed. Indra began to move toward the entrance and he knew what they would do.

"You're running away?" Bellamy questioned before continuing. He was angry at the fact that his sister is on a suicide mission and he was trapped. He was angry that Nia wouldn't look at him let alone speak to him. So he did what he did best, he lashed out. "Just like Mount Weather, huh? Maybe this time, Octavia will get it. Your loyalty will always be to your people."

"Octavia is my people." Indra fired back. She wouldn't let him spill poison in the girl's ear. Their commander was dead and a new one would rise. They needed to find out as much as they could.

"Then take these chains off me, and we can help her together." He tried to persuade but there was nothing they could do.

"Tell her I'm sorry." Indra told him before walking out of the cave. She would wait for Nia outside and allow her the time she needed.

The girls had been packing their things when Nia stopped their movements. She held a look that told them they wouldn't be following behind.

"Nia-" Fox tried to speak but Nia wouldn't let her.

"You are to stay here and wait for Lincoln. He's the only one I trust to keep you safe." Nia instructed. Something told her to leave them there, that only harm would come if they followed her out and she would not allow that to happen. She took a breath before speaking to them again. "If Lincoln doesn't show, you know where to go."

She had shown them the way to the cave she once called home. It was isolated and a place where no one would venture. If anything happened they would remain there until Nia came for them. She placed a hand on their cheeks and took in their faces.

"My girls. My beautiful strong girls. May we meet again." She spoke softly but enough for them to hear. She gave them a kiss on the forehead and left behind Indra.

The words lingered in the air as laid heavily among them. Everything had changed.
