《Skaikru ☣ Bellamy Blake [2]》Too Little Too Late

After the message had been received Pike called a meeting making Bellamy put his thoughts aside and worry about the safety of his people. They were making plans on what their next plan of action was. Once they were finished everyone exited the room except for Bellamy who was held back by Pike.
They stayed silent and Bellamy knew what he wanted from him exactly. It was what most people seemed to be looking at him for.
"Was she speaking the truth?" Pike finally questioned. The information about Nia would cause a major shift in Bellamy and he couldn't have that.
Bellamy was unsure how to answer that. What would be the right answer? How would he take the answer he gives him?
"Yes." He finally admitted to him. His eyes on him wondering what he might do but Pike remained silent.
Pike knew that the answer would complicate things especially since Nia had been a major influence on the camp before but what could he do now. Abby had confirmed it and now Bellamy was faced with a big issue. He had to find a way to deal with this while keeping Bellamy by his side.
"I understand this information is difficult for both of you, but our objective hasn't changed and now we have a blockade with limited rations. The actions we took were for the safety of our people and we will continue to protect them at all costs. What I need to know now is are you still by my side?" Pike asked but the minute it took Bellamy to think allowed him to know that he was losing his interest. "I can promise you that when we are done dealing with the Grounders, no harm will come to Nia. She will be allowed back into Arkadia and you can continue your lives."
It took Bellamy a moment to answer but the last statement was what made him agree. If he had help in creating a world that would protect his child then he would do whatever he needed to do. The arrangement would also allow him to get Nia back with him. So he agreed to his terms.
When they left the room, they began to keep an eye out on everything around them. Per Pike's orders, they would keep watch on everyone around them, he could never know when someone might plot to take him.
But it wasn't long for them to find someone working a plan.
Kane had been leading a rebellion with a small force but the blockade had forced their hand to move quicker. With careful movements they proceeded to execute their plan. This is what lead them to being in the hanger with Sinclair trying to work on the Rover until he was interrupted by Bellamy. The next events were quick with Sinclair bring arrested for treason and taken to holding.
Alec and Lincoln had been anxious to know what was happening on the outside of their confinements but were given no answers. Miller hadn't come back since his first visit but they understood the reasoning. So, they had been focused on watching over the others inside.
The sound of guards coming made them look up and watch as they brought Sinclair in handcuffs. Both equally surprised to see the engineer being brought in.

"Locking up their own now." Alec commented making his way toward him with Lincoln following.
"What'd you do to get in here?" Lincoln asked wandering what he had done.
"Whatever it took." Sinclair answered before glancing at his surroundings to ensure others wouldn't overhear. "I've got a message for you from Kane. 'Get ready tonight's a go.'"
The two glanced at each other and knew that something big had happened outside of the gates to have sparked Kane into taking action. But whatever it was they would be ready to what they needed to help it succeed. With Nia and the girls not there they wouldn't have to worry about the consequences of their actions.
In another part of the camp, Kane had been waiting for Bellamy. The man had been worried about him for quiet sometime but the unexpected news of Nia's pregnancy made him wonder about him more.
"It wasn't much of a plan. Sabotaging the rover. Keeping an eye on Sinclair was an easy call." Bellamy spoke out once he had approached him.
"Was it?" Kane questioned Bellamy's intentions hoping to help him see the error in his ways. "Spying on a friend. That was easy?"
"People in camp are losing focus. There's a threat outside these walls-" Bellamy went to explain but was cut short.
"Your baby is a threat? Nia is a threat?" Kane knew this was a low blow but he needed to get through to Bellamy in anyway he could. "The threat's inside these walls, can't you see that? Pike's turning us against each other."
"He's the chancellor, have you forgotten that?" Bellamy retorted ignoring the questions Kane asked.
"No. No, I haven't." Kane stated.
"Then do the right thing." Bellamy commented hoping to get everyone in line.
"That's the problem. No matter how I look at it, I am." Kane justified his standings.
"Really? Because the way I see it, Monroe died because of you." Bellamy reminded Kane of the life they had lost when they had tried to take the village.
"And now Pike's locked up Sinclair. You don't think he'd be the next to die?" Kane asked pointing out to next actions that might be taken.
"Of course not." Bellamy said confident that Pike wouldn't start killing their own.
"Think about where this ends. Half the camp behind bars while the other half starves. People won't stand for it. They'll turn against Pike. But by then, it'll be too late." Kane laid out the possible outcome that would come of it.
"Pike has a plan." Bellamy pointed out believing they had an alternative.
"Pike always has a plan. And it's always the same one. Take the fight to the Grounders. That's what got Monroe killed. That's what is going to get Nia killed." Kane fired back.
"You're crossing a line, Kane." Bellamy didn't want to believe that Nia would be harmed, not to mention the girls with her.
"No. No, I crossed it. I asked you here because I hoped you'd join me. It's still not too late. To choose the right side." Kane offered hoping he'd take the offer.
"That's exactly what I came here to tell you." Bellamy commented back before leaving the man alone.

It wasn't long till a guard informed Bellamy to come to holding. When he arrived a guard told him that Sinclair was ready to talk. They stood by the door as they spoke through the barrier.
"You have something to say?" Bellamy asked wanting to get the information quickly.
"What do you wanna know?" Sinclair spoke.
"Everything." Bellamy answered needing to know every detail of who was behind the plan.
Unknown to him or others that Pike was meeting with Kane in the hanger of the camp. Kane tried speaking to Pike but the man was only interested in his surrender.
"I want immunity." Sinclair bargained. "I'm the chief of engineering and this camp needs me."
"That's up to Pike but that shouldn't be a problem." Bellamy informed. "What have you got?"
Sinclair went to explain but didn't get far as Lincoln and Alec were beginning to take interest in their conversation. The two made their way intimidatingly hovering over Sinclair.
"The cowards make their deals to save their own skin." Lincoln mocked staring him down.
"Quiet." Bellamy commanded trying to get the information from Sinclair.
"Can't defeat the army at their gate? So you turn on you own? Make you feel strong?" Lincoln continued to mock.
"Guess it's a good thing Nia left when she did. She'd need a real man to protect her and the girls." Alec added in knowing it would get under Bellamy's skin.
"I said, 'Be quiet.'" Bellamy commented again getting frustrated with their presence inside, especially Alec's dig at him.
"I'm not the one that needs to be silenced. He'll tell them nothing." Lincoln spoke while Alec moved quickly pulling Sinclair to the ground. Lincoln was the one to start sending punches to Sinclair causing Bellamy to shout at him.
He only delivered a handful on punches before the door sounded and it opened. Lincoln stopped his movements making Bellamy freeze. He shout out causing Alec to charge forward and slam Bellamy into the wall. They ran to the door pushing against it while the guards tried their hardest to close it. But it wasn't enough as they broke through and began to fight anyone in sight.
Back in the hanger, Pike questioned Kane but didn't have time to attack when he confirmed. The shock was delivered sending Pike to his knees. Kane knocked him out after a final word and loaded him into the rover. He would deliver Pike to the Grounders and lift the blockade, then they would be able to continue with their lives.
Alec fought guards left and right. Throwing hard punches to those in sight. Bellamy had recovered from the charge he had taken and landed a punch to Alec's side. The two fought each other but neither one could gain the upper hand.
That is until Alec had caught sight of Lincoln being shocked from afar. Bellamy took this advantage and sent a punch to Alec causing him to stumble into other guards. They held him to the wall as they shocked him as well. And as Bellamy ran from holding their plan was slipping through.
Since the situation had been defused, they had sat Kane down to determine his punishment. Kane spoke out telling them that his actions were for the good of them. But due to all his charges he was sentenced to death.
Bellamy who stood beside watching the events unfold took a breath as he hear the sentence. He had wanted to think that even with the crimes of treason would Pike sentence their own to die. But he was proven wrong as he watched the guards take Kane away. The guilt laid heavy on him as he thought of his involvement in this process. He had done this. He had sent Kane to his death.
"Sir, are we really killing our own people now?" Bellamy asked hoping Pike wouldn't confirm the orders.
Pike looked at him in disbelief. Kane had just tried to hand him to the Grounders. He had been working against him since he was elected.
"We're at war." He justified before continuing. "Crimes against our leadership can't be tolerated."
"So Kane dies to be an example." Bellamy tried to see how this helps them.
"Kane's actions put this whole camp, everyone's lives at risk today! He cost us lives in his misguided zeal to appease our enemy! People you knew, your friends died because of him! Am I making an example? You're damn right. And I hope his execution makes it clear once and for all where peoples allegiances need to lie. Do you understand that?" Pike explained his reasoning, but every word that he spoke made it clear to Bellamy, that no matter who it might be Pike would execute them as long as they opposed him.
He nodded to please him before he was dismissed. His head swarming with the thoughts of all those who might stand against Pike. Monty and Bellamy shared a scornful look as they thought of the impending future that was in store for those who had fought against them today.
"What about Miller and Harper?" Monty questioned worried about where their friends lives stood.
Bellamy didn't answer as he didn't know what might come of them if someone found out their involvement. He didn't want to think of what would come to them.
"Nicely done today." Hannah complimented once she had approached them. "I'm proud of both of you."
"Thanks, mom." Monty spoke trying to act as normally as possible.
"Were you able to identify anyone Kane was working with?" She questioned hoping the people who oppose them taken into custody.
"No." Bellamy answered quickly. He was not going to give up their friends. She looked to Monty to confirm but the boy simply shook his head as well.
"Let's hope today's actions make it clear to the people of Arkadia which side they should be on." She spoke indirectly toward them. "It's not really that hard choosing what's best for your people, is it?"
"No. I do it every day." Bellamy said his phrase like he had done countless times before. But in the pit of his stomach something changed as he the thought of those whose lives hanged in the balance.
But before Hannah could leave she added another comment which made their blood freeze.
"And let's hope that the Grounders got the message Pike sent them."
