《Skaikru ☣ Bellamy Blake [2]》A What?

Bellamy walked alongside Pike as they made their way toward the gate. They had received information that bought their immediate attention. They climbed to their guard post and met with Hannah. She had informed them about the now Grounder blockade that had been newly established. They were discussing the troops they had sent out but the guard standing beside them brought their attention to the ridgeline.
"Sir? You need to see this." He said holding the binoculars over for them to see.
Coming out of the tree line was a company of three horses. Two Grounders with face masks on while another rode in the middle with a hood pulled over.
"What do they want?" Pike questioned wanting to know about the blockade now the riders coming toward them.
"They brought a message. I've seen this before." Bellamy informed him remembering their encounters from before with Finn. The thought of it made him think of the role Nia played in it and the thought made in uneasy. He wanted her back beside him but until she sees that his ways was right she wouldn't. "Open the gate."
"Do what he says." Pike ordered as they approached the gate. They opened up and walked toward the ones outside. The ones with face masks on the opposite sides of the hooded one.
Once they were in sight and at a standstill, the middle raised their hands and slowly went the hood. When it was brought down, the sight was unexpected to them all.
Nia sat in the middle and stared at them as they stared at her. Most were scared to finally realized her stand point. If she stood on the other side to them what did that mean for them. They remembered the time she spoke against her people for them but now it seems as things had changed.
"Talk." Bellamy commanded remembering the situation they were in.
"We seek the one you call Pike." The one on the side spoke. But Bellamy and Nia's gazes didn't leave each other. Both willing each other to break first but no one conceded.
"Why?" Pike questioned wanting to know what they wanted.
"An army has fallen. Blood soaking the Earth where he took the lives one by one." They announced loudly as the crowd began to gather behind them.
"Welcome to the war against Skaikru." Bellamy stated back taking his eyes off Nia.
"Life was taken. We demand life in return." They laid their purpose down.
"My life? What are your terms, sir?" Pike asked out.
"Come with us. And we walk away." Their terms were set. A simple trade for the life of the others.
"Walk away from what?" Pike needed more information hoping they might give something up.

"By order of the commander, you have been surrounded by an army of the 12 clans. In every direction, warriors wait to kill who attempts to cross the blockade. To greet them. As we greeted those we caught outside your walls today. We left the bodies for the animals." The guard spoke aloud before dumping the heads of the guards that they took. But no one commented on who exactly but the shift in Nia's posture let Bellamy know it was her.
"That's enough." Pike stated not wanting to cause panic among his people. If they panicked he would have a hard time calming them and with panic going around a mutiny might be able to take this offer.
"Let's go." Pike told Bellamy going to head back inside but the boy didn't move.
Bellamy's gaze was back on Nia. Each challenging each other to take the next move. The more they stared the more he realized that this wasn't the girl that had stood with them three months ago. She was different in the way she held herself and it made him uneasy. If she'd so easily gave up Finn how quickly before she found a way to Pike.
"They won't leave. I have seen this before." He stood his ground as they stood theirs.
"The men who wore those uniforms took a long time to die." The guard commented again making Nia shift as she remembered what she had done.
"Bellamy, fall back. That's an order." Pike insisted. The more they talked the more fear they were spreading into their people.
"If you do not give your leader, you will all take a long time to die." He continued seeing the reaction he was getting.
"Bellamy." Pike wanted to get them inside but the eyes of Nia was burning into his guard.
"Choose the side that is best for you people." The guard stated but no one knew that the words he spoke were given to him by Nia.
She knew what would get to them before they could know themselves. And there was no one she knew better than Bellamy Blake. The words he spoke would spark something inside him and she would show the others proof of the person they were living beside.
"I do that every day." He spoke out before drawing his gun and shooting the two beside Nia.
His shifted his gun and settled it on Nia. But he fired no shot as they stared each other down. Nia sat there as everyone else watched as she took the time to talk.
"I would be careful with what you're next actions." She spoke to Bellamy. This made them all glance and wonder exactly she was doing. "After all you wouldn't want to kill your child, would you?"

Her words made them all movements halt and everyone interested in what she had to say next. But the words made Bellamy's blood turn cold. He had not expected for her to admit something so personal to a crowd so open to hate her. Had he wanted a child with her? Yes, but in the future when they wouldn't have to worry about wars and bloodshed. But now there she was in front of them carrying the one thing he knew he'd protect above all else.
"She's lying to keep herself alive." Hannah commented, she could tell that the information she had just released was shifting inside their people. Nia carried one of theirs regardless of her being a Grounder. They needed to keep the people's focus on the fact that they were still considered the enemy.
"Why would I lie? I am the sister of the commander. If you were to kill me then there would be no more blockade, the 12 armies would lay waste to Arkadia. Even if I hadn't told you about the baby. You all know it, even he does. That's why he didn't fire the second he pulled his gun." Nia stated the reasoning against her false information.
But still it was quiet as they all glanced between the once couple. Bellamy still said nothing as he looked at her.
Nia could see the distrust in his eyes and knew that if she wanted him to believe her she'd had to give him proof. He deserved to know about his baby even if they were on opposing sides.
Carefully, she reached into her pocket and gently pulled the picture Abby had once given her out. She hadn't looked at it since but always made sure it was there. She ran her finger gently over the outline before looking at Bellamy and flinging it hard at him.
It was a quick second but it was enough time for him to grab ahold of it. Now having it in his hand made everything too real for him. His child there in a picture before it was even born. In that moment he saw a glimpse of his future.
Nia holding a baby while standing in their corridors. Jade came in with a smile and a book in her hand. Fox entered soon after placing her weapons down and going to Nia. The girls fawned over the newborn baby before heading down for dinner. They gathered round a table before being joined by Lincoln, Alec and Octavia. Octavia's eyes shined as she held onto her newest family member.
And in an instant the memory disappeared and faded into nothing as Nia still sat before them. Her eyes trained on him but aware of those around her.
"If still don't believe me ask Abby, she's the one who examined me." Nia pointed out realizing just how long this was taking.
Eyes switched to the doctor who had been watching the scene from afar. Kane beside her as they were tense about what might happen to the girl who once help them. But now with her there they might be able to bring people from under Pike.
"But we didn't come here to discuss the topic of me. The commander had set forth the terms and it is up to you to decide." Nia finalized before she began to bring her horse around and start galloping toward the woods.
As she faded into the background, many thought it looked like their hope vanishing from sight. But others thought the news she brought would bring the hope of a future still standing for them.
The gates closed quickly after she left bring everyone inside. The first thing Bellamy did was turned to where Abby once stood but the doctor was no longer there. Ignoring all around him, he made his way toward medical. He needed to know why he wasn't notified.
Abby stood there awaiting his arrival. Kane had wanted to stand beside her but she knew this was something she had to face alone.
He stormed inside and held the picture for her to see. A desperate look in his eyes made her wonder. What would have happened if he had known beforehand? What if she had examined Nia sooner then would the boy followed behind Pike putting them both in danger?
"Is this true?" He asked scared to know the answer.
"Yes." She answered before giving him further details. "After the Mount Weather memorial, Lincoln notified me of the Nia's state. When I finished examining her, she explained to me that she had known. But because of how things were changing, she felt it better to keep it from you."
The explanation felt like a blow to Bellamy. She knew all along and she had chose to keep it from him. She had felt the need to keep silent than to risk the lives of those closest to her, all because of his doing. He was the threat that sent his family away from him.
But what could he do now? His allegiances were to Pike and to keeping his people safe but what would that mean to them? Had he just lost his family because of his ghosts? What would his child think of him?

He runs the underground. She’s made it her playground. Their time together--the stuff of pulp fiction. When a corrupt corporate conspiracy threatens to tear them apart, they blast back with their offbeat brand of crime and chaos. This story is just one from the pulps. Film critic Roger Ebert once described them as ‘cheap, disposable entertainment that you could take to work with you, and roll up and stick in your back pocket.’ So do just that--and read it on the weekend. Bon Week-end is a novel written in the tradition of Jean-Patrick Manchette’s neo-polar, existing now as what shall be known as the neo-serial. This is Nippoten’s second serial following the superhero epic Entirely Presenting You. This novel will have a rather unique release schedule compared to others.
