《Skaikru ☣ Bellamy Blake [2]》Unbeknown

Octavia and Clarke entered Clarke's room both dazed at what had happened in the throne room. Lexa placing a blockade and a kill order. Nia becoming the new general of Trikru. Everything seemed to have changed in the matter of minutes.
"No wonder you wanted to stay." Octavia commented as she glanced around the room.
"Stop. You know why I'm here. Are you okay?" Clarke tried to counter before questioning Octavia's well-bring since the attack.
"Yeah, fine. I saw Indra in the crowd. Why wasn't she with Lexa?" Octavia was trying to figure out why Nia had been named the general when Indra holds that position.
"Indra's not doing so well, Octavia. We can't deal with that right now. That's why Lexa put Nia in charge and by the looks of it, it's a good fit." Clarke reasoned out. But a part of her wondered if things went wrong, would Nia be able to do an attack gain them? Against Bellamy?
"Ok, so what do we do?" Octavia questioned trying to think of some way to try and resolve this whole thing.
"I have to talk to Lexa." Clarke announced as she hoped that maybe she could find a way around the kill order.
"You just did that and came out with a kill order on all of us. That's the second time that she left us all to die. And this time she had Nia so now we have no defense for us." Octavia expressed out. The last time they had 12 clans against them Nia was able to talk to Lexa. But now Nia stood beside Lexa and it would mean that no one would be able to vouch for them.
"The 12 clans want a war. You know that. Lexa's just trying to not wipe us out and with Nia in charge she might be able to hold them back from attack." Clarke was trying to reason.
"Why am I not surprised that you're still defending her?" Octavia said with no emotion.
"I'll see what I can do. Stay here." Clarke went to try again with Lexa maybe this time she would get results.
Octavia only stayed for a moment as she thought of a way that she wouldn't be taken prisoner again. If she was going to help then they had to not think of her as the enemy. With a quick remark she turned and left the room.
While Clarke and Octavia were discussing things over Lexa and Nia were speaking about the girl's impending departure.
"I know this position comes with great difficulty but there is no one I'd trust more than you. You and I both know that you and Lincoln were raised to one day hold it." Lexa spoke to her about the newest position.

"I know." Nia spoke with no indication of the topic. A part of her was grateful to finally reached the potential that her father had once set out for but another was wondering about Bellamy. Since they had left she had thought of him often and wondered if things might've been different if he knew that she was pregnant.
"You're thinking of him, aren't you?" Lexa questioned seeing how she seemed so into her head. "Love is weakness." She said the phrase that they were told countless times before but this time the phrase made them wonder why it felt wrong.
"Love is weakness, but it could be our greatest strength." Nia spoke out softly as she thought of those she loved. Lexa, Lincoln, Alec, Jade, Fox, Bellamy, and one day her baby.
Lexa thought of the words she had just said and thought of how it seemed to fix. When she loved Costia, Titus had told her repeatedly that love is weakness but when Azgeda took her from her she had sided into allowing them into her coalition. But sometimes she always wondering if she had fought hard enough for her, would things be different?
A knock sounded and they both knew what that meant. It was time for Nia to make sure the armies were ready to go. They looked at each other and they felt the need to remember each other's faces. They didn't know what they future held and Skaikru could turn against everything they were doing once more.
They embraced each other and held each other close. She took comfort in each other's presence as they had so many times.
"I love you, Zhalia. You take care of yourself, the girls, and the baby." Lexa admitted before exiting the hug.
"I love you too, sister." Nia replied back before she made her way toward the door. She glanced back and sent Lexa another small smile before she left.
Both girls felt their stomach churn at that fact that they would be separated once more. But something felt different but they made no decision to stay together.
When Clarke entered Lexa thought about what Nia had said before. Maybe love was a weakness but maybe she could be the one to use it as a strength. But she also knew that she couldn't keep Clarke from returning if she wanted but she hoped that if she wanted to stay then she's be safe. She wouldn't allow what happened to Costia happen to her. So she extended the offer and left Clarke to decide.
But when the time for the army to begin their march, it was also time for Clarke to give her decision. She was anxious to say the least and feared what might come. Clarke was Skaikru and if she was found on the otherside of the blockade then she would be subject to a kill order.

Her thoughts were filled with what Clarke may decide she was surprised to see the girl standing in front of her. But the look on her face showed her something else. She had decided to leave.
Lexa knew she had to show Clarke the love she felt for her and gave her a kiss. She poured out her emotions and let it break through her barriers. But once they knew about their emotions, it was like they couldn't be stopped. In that moment Lexa shut the world around her out as she opted to love Clarke in the moment. But when they were finished Clarke would leave but they would always have that moment.
No one saw the future that was before them.
It all happened in blur. Clarke preparing to leave but Titus preventing that. And then reality set in when the shot went off and a gasp could be heard.
All eyes settled on Lexa who had just entered the room at the very second the bullet left the chamber. The blood began to seep though making everything silent. Titus rushed over to catch her when she collapsed. What had he done?
Clarke rushed to her side trying to stop the bleed. She was panicked at what had happened. Lexa was shot and they needed to help her.
Outside the tower, Octavia was waiting for Clarke to appear. But it was time for her to go. If she didn't she'd be subject to a kill order.
She had tried before to convince Indra into letting her stay safe but the leader's injury overpowered her. So with that she went to leave by herself.
"Octavia kom Skaikru." She heard someone call from behind her. When she turned she saw the unexpected. Indra walking to her. They greeted one another before turning and walking together to the party ready to leave.
When they approached they saw Nia situating her horse with Fox and Jade preparing their supplies. They made their way to Nia to see what she might have to say about Indra's return.
"I'm glad you could join us." Nia commented with her back still turned. She had been worried about her once mentor not being willing to fight but she knew that she wouldn't be the one to convince her otherwise. "I understand that you are the true leader of Trikru but we are in a tough position, Indra. We may never know how this may turn but if we do go to war someone is going to have to lead the charge."
Indra knew what she was talking about and respected her decision. Regardless of her still willing to fight she was still injured and wouldn't be able to lead a charge. She approached Nia and held out her arm. They connected signaling their understanding.
"It was what I trained you for. And what you we're born to be." Indra encouraged before they broke and were soon placed on horses ready to leave.
Nia lead the way leaving the capital behind her. Unbeknown to all what was happening inside. Every step she took was another step to losing herself. A darkness would come and everyone would wonder how to overcome it.
As she laid there, her life in the balance she knew what would happen. And in that moment she thought of Nia. Her friend. Her sister. Her family. She wouldn't be able to see her again. She wouldn't be able to she her child grow. She wanted her there to say her good-byes. To tell her she loved her. But she sent her away and she knew that they wouldn't have it any other way. They were protecting their people. Preventing them from losing more.
"I'm ready, Heda." Titus said making it real to everyone there.
"Clarke." She spoke wanting to take comfort in someone there.
"I'm here." The blonde stood beside her.
"My fight is over." She confirmed before speaking out.
"No. No. I won't accept that." Clarke refused to let her give in.
"Tell Zhalia, I love her and I'm sorry. Tell her, to not let the darkness take her. That she is the strength that our people need." Lexa continued needing to have someone pass this message along. "You were right, Clarke. Life is about more than just surviving."
Tears left Clarke's eyes as she watched this once strong warrior accepted her fate. This wasn't how it was suppose to go. Their lives were suppose to go on and they were suppose to have a future. But this was where it would all end.
"In peace may you leave the shore. In love may you find the next. Safe passage on your travels until our final journey on the ground. May we meet again." Clarke said their final remarks as their time was passing.
And when she finished, Lexa drew her last breath. A warrior taken from their lives. A commander gone to join her succession. A sister lost to a family beginning to grow. A love stolen by the hatred of others.
