After they had arrived at their vehicles, the day before, they decided best to look at the damage done to Mount Weather. Much to Pike's displeasure, Nia would come along. She needed to know whether Alec had been inside as well. The two younger girls wanted to come along but she had told them otherwise.

So while the others went to Arkadia. Nia, the Blake siblings, Kane, Pike and a guard went to Mount Weather.

Being on the horse, Nia could see the destruction before the others. The rubble made her think of missile that had hit Tondc. Sinclair and Raven sat motionless as they stared at where the door would be. Her eyes on them as she dismounted her horse, unknowingly, her hand slid over the scar that she had obtained. The memories of it flashing through her mind.

Bellamy looked around the debris. Many emotions flowed through him. Anger. Sadness. Defeat. Grounders did this. They took innocent lives to prove a point. He glanced over at Nia only to see her still beside her horse and holding her once wound. For a second his emotions deflated even though she was a Grounder, he still cared for her.

"You did this?" The guard accused before making strides over to Nia.

Not liking the look in his eyes Bellamy quickly made his way toward Nia. He stepped in front of her while keeping the guard at a distance. "She wasn't here and she had no clue." He defended.

Kane made his way over as well and began to talk with the guard. But none of them noticed the pair of eyes on them. Pike couldn't help but notice how quickly Bellamy was able to defend Nia. What he had also noticed was how Bellamy looked at the destruction before.

"I didn't know about this. And if I had I would've done everything I could to stop it." Nia protested before walking off. She needed to take in her surroundings.

No one made a move to follow her for a minute before Bellamy left behind her. Right now wasn't the time for her to be by herself. Not long ago Azgeda had tried to kill her.

Wordless the two made their way through the trees. Neither one didn't know what to say. One was angry about the situation while the other was trying her best to find a better outcome.

"Lexa will see to it that Azgeda pays for this. You have to believe me, Bellamy, this was the last thing we'd want to happen to Skaikru. Now that Skaikru is apart of the coalition, we stand together." Nia tried to reason with Bellamy but it didn't do much to calm his rage and guilt.

But before he could counter her statement they heard a rustle from a bush a few yards away. Both went it defensive mode as Bellamy raised his gun and Nia readied her bow. Slowly and cautiously, they made their way forward.

When they finally passed through the brush they were shocked by the sight. Alec laid before them, hands tied, blood dripping from his eyebrow and his cheek swollen and bruised.

"Alec." Nia breathed out of relief. He was alive. She put her bow away and made her way over to untie him.

Bellamy looked surprised and upset to see him. This allowed him to know where he had disappeared to when Echo had first shown up. But he was upset by the fact that he was alive. Why did he get to live while countless others lost their lives? He just couldn't push pass the hated buried inside him.

When they finished they made their way back. But it wasn't a warm welcome for them as Pike and the guard aimed at Alec. Kane was quick to intervene to halt any further movements.

After his commands they loaded up the Rover to head back, only Alec didn't climb inside and Nia understood his feelings. So the two opted to ride the horse together which didn't settle right with Bellamy but instead he chose to stay silent.

Upon their arrival to Arkadia, Kane insisted that Alec be check by Abby which he refused. Nia recommended that she look him over noticing the glaring gaze on them. Kane didn't protest and allowed them to retire to their rooms.

Nia followed him to his room, figuring it would be the best place to discuss topics privately. She quickly cleaned his wound and looked him over before long there was a knock on the door. When she answered her brother stood on the other side of the door. She allowed him to enter relieved that she could speak with both of them.

She leant against the desk in the room. Lincoln stood by the door and Alec sat on the bed.

"I don't have a good feeling about this attack." Nia admitted quietly. The whole situation felt wrong to her.

"Lexa makes the next move, she'll make the one that keeps the coalition intact." Alec tried to calm her nerves but it didn't do much.

"Azgeda just killed their people. I told them that that mountain represented death and they sent their people there." Nia's frustration lingering in her tone. "Pike is a person that we can't trust." Nia didn't want to say this last sentence but she knew she had too. They both deserved to have a chance outside of Arkadia. "Lincoln your kill order has been lifted. You're free to go outside the walls. Alec, this is your chance too."

They both shared a look but they both knew their answer. They weren't going to leave her no matter what. She was a big part of their lives and if would stay and try an establish peace then they would stay by her side.

"We're not leaving you Nia and don't think we ever will." Alec spoke first.

"We've always by each other's side." Lincoln supported.

Nia let out a sigh of relief and gave them a small smile but now she needed to put provisions in place to ensure their safety.

"Pike is not like the others. He thinks of us different and doesn't like our presence. For now we have Abby and Kane, but hatred only grows." She began to tell them. Both wondered where she was going with this. "I think it's best if we distance ourselves. We keep our heads down and don't draw attention. And we don't take from them anymore. No medical, no rations, no supplies."

"Nia-" Lincoln went to speak to her but she held up her hand and continued.

"Tomorrow, we can go on a hunt for small game. Ones that would go unnoticed. At least until we're not targets anymore." She suggested to them.

"What about Jade and Fox?" Alec questioned, the two girls had always meant the most to Nia.

"Jade would have to abide the same way we do. It would only be in her best interest." Nia replied. She knew it was a risk for them but it was a necessary one. If they didn't take then they wouldn't cast a big spot. But with Jade being small and growing she knew that she would eventually give her what she had.

Both nodded knowing that she was simply looking out for them in the long run. And if they needed to then they would be the ones to sacrifice for the girls.

After they had left Alec's room, Lincoln had gone back to his while Nia made her way to Bellamy's. She had been worried ever since they had seen the remains of the mountain but he seemed closed off to her.

The door was locked when she arrived and so she knocked but received no answer. She waited for quiet some time debating whether to wait for him or to return to her room. The door swung open and answered for her.

There he stood, showing no emotion as he looked at her. But from what she could tell the deaths had begun to take their toll on him. She had experienced firsthand on how it could affect someone and simply wanted to be there for him.

She stepped forward but Bellamy didn't move for a second. Finally, he stepped aside and let her in. Her brows furrowed as she thought he looked hesitant to let her in, but she didn't question it. Instead she took a seat on the bed and waited for him to make the first move.

He made his way over and sat beside her. Too lost in thought he paid her no mind until he felt her hand on him. One wrapped around his arm while the other went to his back and began to rub in soothing circles.

And just like that he broke. His eyes watered as he thought of all those they had lost. He thought of Gina. The girl who had became his friend. He knew about her feelings toward him but he had Nia and therefore chose not to address them. But now as he thought back he wondered if he had made a mistake.

His brain tried to argue that it Nia was at fault and he should've seen this in the beginning. But his heart argued against it all. Despite how much his brain wanted him to hate her, his heart reminded him of all he felt for her. He even wondered if his feeling had made him weak? Would she be a cause that would sway his judgement?

Their night was silent as Nia simply sat there and comforted the best she could. She had often tried to talk with him but he simply brushed her off. So she opted to just let her presence be enough.

They laid side by side but didn't touch one another. Bellamy's head filled with thoughts. While Nia thought of the changes that had begun.

Eventually, darkness had taken them. Their last thoughts so different from one another.

Bellamy tried to determine which part of himself he should listen to. His heart driven by the love he had occupied in their time together. While his brain driven by the anger of all the losses they had endured.

Nia simply hoped that nothing bad would come for her and those closest to her. That the feeling in the pit of her stomach was wrong.

The next morning, she woke up alone and when she stepped out into the air, the winds around her shifted. Her and Alec made haste in their hunt and began to go along with their plan in hopes that it would all be all right.
