Ryan's P.O.V

I could hear the screams and laughter of the children.

I was standing right outside of the little cabin the daycare was in.

Dominic stepped forward, entering the home.

"Dominic!", the children chorused as they ran into his legs.

Dominic laughed and crouched down.

"There's somebody that would love to meet you guys.", he whispered.

I stepped in, my tall frame leering over the kids.

They weren't afraid though.

"Alpha!", they screamed all running to me.

Their ages ranged from 2 all the way to 14. I could tell the older kids were there for help.

Little arms hugged my legs. I squatted down and smiled.

"Well hello little ones. How are you doing on this fine day?", I asked.

"Good!", they yelled.

My smile grew as they all smiled at me.

"What do you guys like to do?", I asked, determined to get to know my soon-to-be pack members.

"We like to swim, Alpha.", one little boy said shyly.

"You know how to swim?", I asked, surprised.

They nodded while others shook their heads.

"The smaller ones have floaties packed away.", the boy said.

I thought for a moment before looking at Dominic.

"Isn't there a decent size pond nearby?", I asked him.

He nodded and I smiled.

"Well, today everybody's been working real hard and it's extremely hot outside. Why don't you guys go get ready and we'll head on over to the pond together?", I said.

The kids nodded, all running to get ready.

I stood up, rubbing my sweaty palms on my shorts.

"Let's go get ready adults. We're all going.", I smirked.

We trudged onto a small path, Dominic and some adults leading, other adults on the sides of the line of children, and me bringing up the rear with the older adults.

After about 5 minutes, we came across a pond with crystal clear water.

The sun reflected off of the water and we could see the bottom that was laid with smooth stones.

A weeping willow sat next to the pond and hung over a small portion of it.

Beautiful.

I pulled off my shirt, exposing the spandex and bathing top I borrowed from another female.

I really need to go shopping.

I dove into the water, the cold nipping at my skin.

I came up and everybody stared at me.

"What are you waiting for? Come on in!", I exclaimed.

The kids jumped in with screams of excitement and the younger adults dove in like me. The older adults just sat on the edge in the shade with their feet in the pond.

We splashed each other. I dunked Domnic underwater and laughed.

Once Dominic came back up, he grabbed me by my waist and picked me up.

Throwing me, I landed in the water and was engulfed by it's cold water.

I climbed out of the water and sat next to the older adults.

"You know you guys don't have to prove yourself. As long as you're here and you give us your support, that's all we could ask for.", I said to them, meeting each person's eyes.

They nodded looking away as Dominic lifted up a kid and tossed them into the air.

Soon enough, we were all up and walking back to the packhouse.

We all took turns showering before making our own food, sandwiches, and heading to bed.

As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out like a light.

I cursed like a sailor as the blistering sun hit my back.

I pounded the board into place, like a puzzle.

We decided to cut notches into each plank so they would fit together. We would then nail it together to make it more sturdy.

The idea was so if the daycare ever had to be moved, it wouldn't take so long to rebuild it.

But it made it harder while first building it.

The notches had to be perfect or it wouldn't fit right.

Stupid wood.

The last plank slid into place and I sighed, standing up and stretching.

"Okay, let's get the nails in now.", I said.

The truck came up and the older adults popped out, Edith leading them as usual.

She was the one who was most comfortable with me so she always did the talking.

"We got everything you asked for and then a little more. I hope that was alright.", Edith said.

I nodded. "That's perfect Edith. They're just nailing all together now. Shouldn't take too long."

"Ryan! We're done here!", Dominic yelled.

I clapped my hands. "Let's move this furniture into there. Dominic, go get the kids please.", I said.

He nodded and jogged off as some rogues moved forward and started grabbing items.

A couch and armchair was grabbed. Two end tables that needed to be put together, an area rug, a few shelves, a bookcase, books, toys, and children table and chairs set were all grabbed.

I walked into the daycare, the wood floor creaking a little to adjust to new weight.

"Lay the area rug out in the middle of the room. Push the couch against the wall beneath the window and place the armchair next to it just dancing towards the door.

Put an end table one one side of the couch and another one on the other side by the armchair.

I want the bookcase put on the far wall and then the shelves next to it. Arrange everything else like it normally would be.

Also, the pool needs to be put up out back where no one can see the kids and start filling it up.

And hurry up.

Dominic will be here any moment.", I said.

Everybody rushed around, excusing themselves when they accidentally shove into one another.

"They're here!", I exclaimed.

Dominic's presence was that of a Beta's, so I could feel him right before he showed up.

Everybody filed outside just as Dominic walked into the yard, the kids following him eagerly.

"Welcome to your new daycare!", I yelled, my arms held out.

The children screamed, running into the home as Claire, their head caretaker, walked up to me.

"It's wonderful Ryan.", Claire whispered.

"Just wait until they find the pool out back.", I whispered back.

Right as I said those words, there was a scream.

"THERE'S A POOL!", one kid yelled.

My smile grew as I made my way to the backyard and saw the kids already in it, splashing each other.

Once they caught sight of me, they all hopped out and rushed to me.

My legs got soaked as they hugged me tightly.

"Thank you Alpha!", they yelled to me.

Little bundles of energy.

I laughed. "It wasn't all me. It was everybody else too."

The children took off, hugging everybody before hopping back into the pool.
