(Scorpio's POV)

I run my fingers through my hair, staring at the face in the mirror. I can see why everyone is always scared of me, my black eye and scar on my jaw aren't appealing. Well, I guess I don't need friends, since I don't have time for them...

I put my scarf on and get into my car. I drive to my boss' mansion, taking every short cut and back way possible. This is only my second time going to his house, since only his best hit men get the honor of going to his mansion.

Not too long later, I arrive at his home. I park in his massive drive way and walk up to his equally massive door. I pull my scarf down to expose my face. The cold air stings my face. I ring the door bell and the huge oak door swings open, to reveal my boss' right hand man. I look up at them and smirk. It's important to show confidence, not fear.

"Taurus! How are you?" I ask, yanking their chain.

"Mr. Leo is waiting, if you keep arriving late, you're gonna get fired..." She grunts. Yes, Taurus is a she. And she's a tough cookie and can break you like a twig.

I walk in and follow Taurus to Mr. Leo's office. She opens the door and we see Mr. Leo on the phone. I quietly sit down and wait. After about a minute or two, Mr. L shoos Taurus away, and she leaves. He hangs up, sighs, then smiles at me.

"Hi, Scorpio! I wanted to talk to you this evening because--" He was interrupted by a girl bursting in, loudly.

She was short, had brown hair, and deep brown eyes. She had a heavy layer of dark makeup on, and had revealing clothes on. She ran up to Mr. L, and hugged him. She had a dark purple crop top and dark jean shorts on.

"Bye, daddy! I'm going out!" She exclaimed, kissing Mr. L's cheek.

She was very pretty, but she probably had a boyfriend, judging by her personality. She walks out after her father says goodbye. Mr. L looks back at me and continues.

"Anyways, I am very impressed by your work, and I am thinking about giving you a raise. How would you like to become part of the Beta team?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.

Mr. Leo is the Alpha, there are about 4 highly trained hit men/assassins in the Beta team, and 6 hit men in the Gamma team. I am in the Gamma team, Taurus is the head of the Beta team, and my sister, Pisces, is in Beta. Gamma goes on smaller missions, and Beta goes on the big missions.

Me and Pisces grew up in the "hood", our parents were killed when we were just 14 and 15. Mr. L trained us for awhile, then he made us into Gamma hit men. Pisces progressed more than me, since she used her emotions to fight, while I hardly feel anything. It was Mr. L's enemy who killed our parents, so Pisces felt so much rage, she used it to her advantage.

It's a great honor to become a Beta, and it rarely happens. There are people in Gamma that are much older than Pisces, and, like, 2 others.

"I would gladly accept this offer, Mr. Leo." I respond, a smile growing with every word.

"I'm pleased to hear that!" He chuckles.

We get up and walk to a room I've never been in before. It's filled with pictures of Mr. L with other hit men and assassins. It has weapons, suits, and more! Mr. Leo walks to a drawer, and opens it. He pulls out a badge, the badge has a scorpion sewed on it. He walks around the room and opens a cabinet, and pulls out a black suit with scarlet red stitching. He grabs a needle and thread and starts sewing the badge onto the suit. When he was done, he handed it to me.

"Keep this safe." He rasps.

After talking about my job, Taurus came in and ushered me out. She takes me to one of the many rooms in the mansion. One that was just for me, I got to stay in the room right across the hallway from Pisces. I go into my room and stand in awe at the big and nice room. It had plenty of stuff so I didn't need to go and get clothes or anything from my house. I was a Beta, and all Betas get special treatment, since they need to be healthy to fight and go on missions. I smirk and pull my scarf up over my face.

(Aries' POV)

Me and my friends start walking to the car, and next thing I know, everything goes black.

(Scorpio's POV)

I look around the room and then, someone starts banging on my door. I open it to see Taurus.

"Get ready! Quick! We have an emergency mission!" She shouts, then rushes off.

I get my suit on and put on the combat shoes that were sitting on the floor by the closet. I put my belt on (that is used to hold weapons). I rush out to see Pisces in front of me. Her suit is just like mine, but her badge is two fish and her stitching is grey-blue.

"Pisces! Can you show me the ropes? I've never done a big mission like this..." I whisper.

"I didn't know you got a raise! Good job, lil bro!" She replies, elbowing me.

"Please..." I mutter.

"I'll explain during the car ride." She says, giving me a reassuring nod.

We go to Mr. Leo's office. He's sitting at his desk, and it's me, Pisces, Taurus, Sagittarius, and Capricorn, all lined up and ready for our mission.

Mr. L begins to speak in a calm voice, "Aquarius has kidnapped my daughter, Aries. I have a tracker on her, find her, save her, and make Aquarius pay."

We nod, then run to get our weapons. I follow Pisces' lead, we grab our weapons, and head out to the car. Taurus drives, Capricorn is shot-gun, and me, Pisces, and Sagittarius are in the back seat.

"Okay, so Betas deal with Aquarius and his crew. He is difficult to deal with, since he has multiple hiding spots. They are all highly trained and unpredictable at times. This is important, because Aries is involved." Pisces explains, and as she does, I think of Aries.

I don't know much, since only Betas know about Aquarius and his gangs. Betas know the codes and secrets, and are highly trusted by Mr. L.

(Aries' POV)

I wake up in a dark and musty room. I was tied up and could barely move. The rope burned against my bare stomach.

(Scorpio's POV)

Sagittarius pulls out his phone and looks at the tracker. "Aries should be at the Donavue warehouse. No doubt either Aquarius or one of his big shots."

"Okay, either way, we can knock down a big piece to their puzzle." Taurus replies.

We drive into a dark part of town and soon arrive at a big warehouse. As we get ready and talk about the plan, I try to use my emotions to my advantage, like Pisces. I think about Aries' beautiful face and extroverted nature. She doesn't deserve to be in pain.

Suddenly, the rest of the group takes off to different areas. I wasn't listening and now I have no idea what the plan is. I just wing it. I find a window and climb up, break it, and climb in. I climb down the shelves and look around the room. There's nothing there, except for a chair in the middle of the room, it has a figure in it and I guess it's Aries.

(Aries' POV)

I see someone climbing down the shelves on the far side of the room, they are big, and the moon light hits their icy blonde hair, making it shine. I inhale sharply as I see the person pull out a knife, and it reflects the moon light. The person jumps down with a soft thud! They run over to me, and as they get closer, I see that it's a male.

They come up to me and I see a pair of bright blue eyes that I feel like I remember seeing before.

"Are you here to save me?" I ask nervously.

His face is masked so I only see his eyes. I see a badge on his right arm, it has a scorpion on it. I recognize his suit, he works for my dad! I stare into his chilling eyes, he looks so handsome, and I feel safe now that he's here.

He starts cutting the thick rope with the knife. I feel weird in the silence, so I try talking to him.

"Do you know what's going on? Who are you? I feel like I've seen you before." I try.

(Scorpio's POV)

She keeps asking questions and it makes my drawn to her more. She is so sweet and confused and I just want to help her.

"Well, I guess Aquarius kidnapped you. I'm new to the Beta team -- I just started today-- I'm Scorpio, I used to be in Gamma. And, yeah, when you said bye to your dad, before you left, I was in the office, it was right before I got moved to Beta, actually." I respond.

I cut the rope, and I take her hand, running to the shelves. She stops, and I turn around. She quickly gets on her tip toes, and kisses me on the lips. I can't help but kiss back. She pulls away, then hugs me tight, whispering, "Thank you!" I hug her tighter as she speaks.

I then hear a slash of a knife, I turn around and see a guard on the floor with a giant cut on his neck. Pisces is behind him, knife in hand, a furious yet successful expression on her face. The guard tries to get up, Pisces grabs Aries' hand and gets her out. I fight with the guard before I'm able to stab his leg, then run out.

(Aries' POV)

I ask about Scorpio curiously. The girl with the fish on her badge began to explain,

"Well, for starters, you came to the right place, I'm his sister, Pisces. What do you want to know?"

"Um, maybe his love life, I'm kinda interested..."

"Oh! He had a girlfriend a long time ago, I think, like, 6 years ago. She was very clingy and controlling... eventually, she betrayed him. She cheated, lied, and did everything in between! He hasn't even tried to find anyone again..." She looks down.

My heart shatters as her words spill out, he would never love me.

Scorpio suddenly jumps into the car and close behind him are Taurus and two other guys. I sit quietly between Taurus and I guy with a half goat half fish thing on his badge. Everyone had cuts and bruises. I kept thinking about how sweet Scorpio is, and how he won't love me anyways, I'm too loud and dumb.

Later, we arrive home and I run in and hug my dad, who was still in his office.

After I showered, changed, and ate dinner, I went to find Scorpio's room. I knock on the door and see a tall, handsome, and rugged man. His face was covered by a scarf, only his blue eyes showing. I ask to come in and he gestures me in.

I sit down on the bed and he sits next to me.

"Um, can I ask you something?" I ask, he then nods, I continue, "I really like you, and I know you might not feel the same, but... how do you feel about me? And I know we just met, but I can't help wondering."

There was a long pause, but then he answers, "Yes, I do like you. You're so pretty, and your outgoing nature make me smile, and you are really nice!"

I couldn't help but blush and move closer to kiss his soft lips.

(Scorpio's POV)

She kisses me passionately, and I kiss back. We break away and I ask, "Do I scare you?"

"What? No!" She answers, "I feel safe with you..."

She kisses my cheek, then walks out of my room, smiling.

The next day, everyone was talking about me and how I went out on my own and saved Aries faster and better than the rest of them. Everyone was crowded around Mr. Leo, talking about me. He looked pleased. And, standing next to him, was Aries, her smile went from cheek to cheek. She saw me walk in and winked. I blushed and joined the group.
