Thanks to Hera, Kanan and Ezra knew that relief supplies were landing in Jaleth City from Alderaan. Kanan pulled the bike they had borrowed from Ryder up behind a wall so no one would notice it, just in time to see the ships dock at the port.

"Those are our reinforcements?" Ezra asked, doubtful. "Some old transports?"

"In our position, you take what you can get, kid," Kanan reminded him, though he saw his apprentice's point. Grabbing a blaster, he hopped off the bike and darted over to the platform, making sure he and Ezra were the ones to greet the Alderaanian agents when they got off the ships. The ramp lowered, and after making sure the coast was clear, Kanan turned to see the agents and-

-and he recognized one of them! O-Mer!!!

He was with someone else, a human he didn't know, but fifteen years couldn't fool Kanan. The Cerean looked much more formal than Kanan had ever seen him before, but he was rejoicing the fact that he was alive too much to care. He was so stunned that he froze and couldn't speak.

Which meant that Ezra took the initiative. He lowered his helmet visor and spoke to the person in front, the human. "Are you guys from Senator Organa?"

The human raised an eyebrow, looking down at the teenager. "They just keep getting younger, don't they?" He and O-Mer turned to Kanan, who was finally getting a hold of himself. "Trooper?"

Pulling the helmet off, Kanan didn't bother with the human and looked directly at his old friend. In a sort of whisper-yell, he told him, "O-Mer, it's me!!!"

"Caleb! You're alive???" He responded in the same tone of voice, confusing the other two who were standing nearby.

Though not sure of what was going on, the human caught a glimpse of stormtroopers around the corner. "Can we hold off on the reunion? The deck officer is going to know who you are too if you don't get your helmet back on."

He rounded the corner and approached the Imperials. Kanan and O-Mer glanced at each other before straightening up. O-Mer followed his colleague while Kanan put his helmet back on, though both their minds were racing at double speed.

Ezra, on the other hand, was a little lost. "Caleb?"

"I'll explain later," he told him, following the Alderaniaans. "For now, shut it."

Offended, he did as told and put his visor back up, following Kanan and his friend and his friend's friend. He wasn't quite sure which one of them annoyed him the most.

Up ahead, the human was talking to the stormtroopers. "Deck Officer, we'd like to start distributing our relief aid."

"Stand by. My orders are to inspect the cargo for contraband and detain these vessels until the lieutenant arrives," the officer told him. "Scanning crew, move out."

The soldiers spread out, leaving the four rebels alone just enough so that Kanan could get a remark in to O-Mer. "Well, this plan's off to a good start."

"Wouldn't you know, it's going perfectly," he retorted, grinning just a little bit.

"Where's the rest of your team?" The human asked lowly.

"They'll be here, eventually," Kanan explained.

Crossing his arms, the human smirked. "Sounds like you get to steal our ships, then."

"What?!?" "What?!?"

Neither rebel agent clarified but looked at the Imperial shuttle that was docking in front of the group. "We'll explain later," O-Mer promised, "but we need to chat with this lieutenant. Stick with us, and we'll be fine."

He and his human friend began to walk off, and Ezra shook his head. "I'm so confused. Do they get to give us orders now? Why don't I get to give orders?"

Kanan shoved his head to the side. "Do you ever listen to yourself?"

"Yes, and I happen to be very interesting," he insisted, but he followed the adults to the shuttle all the same.

Under the helmet, Kanan's eyes were trained on O-Mer, wishing they had a chance to talk alone. Where had he been all this time? How had he survived the Jedi Purge? What was he doing on Alderaan, and if he was in the Rebellion, why hadn't Kanan seen him yet? Did Master Skywalker know he was a rebel? A thousand questions rushed into his mind, but he couldn't ask any of them. He had to hold his tongue and wait. A few minutes was nothing compared to fifteen years, but these were going to be a long few minutes.

The agents had approached the lieutenant. "You must be Berk Granger and Ohmer Daru, delegates of the royal house of Alderaan," the officer assumed. Kanan guessed that O-Mer had taken Jinx's last name to hide better.

"And aides to Senator Bail Organa," the human added, crossing his arms. "We've brought relief supplies for Lothal's needy who have fallen victim to recent rebel terrorist activity here. I'm assuming you don't want innocents to starve?"

"No, of course not," the lieutenant assured them. "Lothal has indeed suffered, as has Alderaan. From what I hear, your ships have an unfortunate habit of falling into rebel hands. I assure you, that won't happen on my watch."

Everyone's eyes darted to the right, where troopers were pushing a daunting device over to the base of the rebel transports. Ezra, who had forgotten he was posing as a cadet, asked, "What's that?"

O-Mer knew what they were, though. "Gravity locks? Is this necessary?"

"I insist," the lieutenant confirmed. "Plus a trooper detachment, and for extra security..." he trailed off, not finishing his sentence.

A roaring behind them did it for him. The four rebels turned and saw a gunship carrying two AT-AT walkers down to the surface, dropping them on their feet before flying off again. Behind them, the lieutenant went on. "Walkers will guard your ships against the rebel insurgency. All for your safety, sirs."

The human narrowed his eyes as he turned around. "If our ships are detained, then surely you won't mind us borrowing your shuttle to do our work, then?"

"Oh, um, my shuttle?" stammered the officer. "Certainly, I could arrange for other transportation."

"Your shuttle will do nicely," the human interrupted. "Thank you. We will be leaving immediately. You two," he ordered, calling for Ezra and Kanan's attention, "bring those supplies with us to the suffering areas."

They immediately got behind their crates and started pushing. Kanan even threw in a 'yes, sir' for good measure as they went. The sooner they got on the shuttle, the sooner they would be safe to talk. It was a chance Kanan didn't think he would get in his life.

O-Mer was waiting for them in the cargo bay. As soon as Ezra and Kanan were on board, he closed the ramp and called back to his friend in the cockpit. The engines fired up as the ramp sealed, and they were finally taking off.

Before anyone said anything, Kanan took his helmet off again and set it down on the crate. He went straight to O-Mer and hugged him. It was a little awkward with the stormtrooper armor, but it was a hug. It was more than Kanan ever thought he'd get again from any of his old friends.

"I didn't think you were alive!" O-Mer celebrated, pulling back and holding Kanan by the shoulders. Kanan rested his hand on one of O-Mer's arms, smiling. "I haven't heard from you in years! I thought the clones got the better of you!"

"I could say the same," he responded, nodding his head to the front of the ship. "If I had known you were in the Rebellion, I would have joined a lot sooner."

"Okay, I'm sorry, but I'm totally lost," Ezra announced, holding his hands up. "Who are you? And how do you know each other?"

From the cockpit, the human emerged and pointed a finger back at the controls. "Before you ask, I did turn on the autopilot. I would also appreciate an explanation and an introduction."

Since it was technically the delegates' mission, O-Mer figured he would start. "Caleb, this is Granger, my partner in our work for Senator Organa on Alderaan. Caleb and I were Padawans together before the Purge."

"It's Kanan, actually," he corrected, shaking Granger's hand. "Had to change my name to hide from the Empire."

"Can't say I blame you," Granger replied, and he smiled for the first time. "And here I thought the rest of you were dead."

"Wait, you're a Jedi too?"

All three adults looked at Ezra, who was staring at O-Mer with wide eyes. Releasing from the handshake, Kanan grinned. "Ezra, this is O-Mer Majal. This is Ezra Bridger," he said, realizing he had never properly introduced Ezra to anyone this way before. "My apprentice."

O-Mer had already reached out to shake his hand, but when Kanan finished his sentence, he froze, looking at Kanan to make sure he hadn't misheard. When he realized he hadn't, he looked back at Ezra. "You know what? I'm not surprised," he confessed, laughing. "Not even a little."

"Now there's three of you?" Granger complained, groaning to O-Mer. "This is what I get for throwing in with Jedi. I should have known this would happen sooner or later."

"Hey, how is this my fault?" he retorted, turning away from the others. "I didn't even know they were going to be here, and Senator Organa told you who we were meeting with! Not me!"

Granger just rolled his eyes. "I'll be in the cockpit," he told them, letting them do their thing. He knew from experience that Jedi always had something to talk about privately. That, and he didn't blame O-Mer for wanting to catch up with a friend.

On the other hand, Ezra crossed his arms over the cadet helmet he was holding. "What's his problem?"

"Oh, that's just Granger," O-Mer assured him, waving his arm in his direction. "He's a buzzkill, and he loves to poke fun at Jedi. Don't mind him. I should have known you'd find an apprentice if you were alone for long enough," he teased Kanan, bringing the conversation back around.

"Believe me, it was mostly an accident," explained Kanan. "Someone was stealing the same crates we were," he remembered, giving Ezra a pointed look.

He didn't look too happy about being called out in front of another Jedi. "Well, I didn't know. In fact, I still don't know what's going on. I thought you and Master Skywalker were the only Jedi left. How did you survive? How come we haven't seen you until now? And what about Master Skywalker? Has he talked to you yet?"

O-Mer stared at Ezra for a second, then grinned and nudged Kanan. "He's just like you were, but with blue hair."

Kanan and Ezra looked at each other, and neither of them sure if that was a compliment or an insult. Upon seeing their confusion, O-Mer only laughed again, his face lighting up. "Is that how you two found each other? You both just started asking a million questions at the same time?"

It was Kanan's turn to be called out. "Thanks a lot," he grumbled, but he couldn't stay mad for long.

Looking at the two of them, it was clear they wanted to talk alone. Even Ezra could take a hint now and then. "Well, you two have fun. I'm going to go talk to mister grumpy up there."

"Good luck," O-Mer told him. "And don't take anything he says personally. You'll get used to it after a while."

Ezra left them after receiving that little nugget of advice, and Kanan eyed his friend. "Who is that guy, anyway?"

Shaking his head, O-Mer sat in the seats along the side of the cargo bay. "Long story, but I think we have our own stories to share first."
