《Baby Daddy》32. The Ring

The next morning I woke up feeling absolutely amazing. I felt relieved, refreshed, happy, and most importantly, full of love. I haven't felt this amazing in so long.

I heard the sheets rustling beside me so I turned around to face Draco and saw that he was also awake, and we both shared the same huge smile on our faces.

"Good morning my fiancé", I said, so happy to call him that.

"And good morning to you too, my fiancée", he smiled, pulling me in for a kiss.

We were suddenly interrupted, however, when we heard a crash from outside and then our bedroom door burst open, making us both jump.

Gray, Luna, Hermione, Cho, Blaise and Goyle had just stormed into our bedroom unannounced, probably wanting to know exactly what happened with the engagement last night.

And, to make things even better, neither Draco nor I were wearing any clothes under the covers after our little celebration last night.

"How did it go?"

"What was it like?

"Did she say yes?"

"What did he say?"

"Can I see the ring?"

"Did you cry?"

They overloaded us with these questions all at once, not even giving us a chance to answer them. I pulled the duvet further up my chest, trying to cover up as much as I could. I became a little uncomfortable because all these people are in the same room as me when I don't have any clothes on, one wrong move and it could be all over.

"Um, guys", Draco said, trying to calm them down as they were all going crazy. "Do you think you could, you know, give us a minute?"

"Why? Don't you want to see us?" Goyle asked, oblivious as to why we wanted them to leave.

"Uh- not exactly, we just need a minute", he said, and I could sense him getting very awkward as well.

You could suddenly see the realisation hit them of why we needed them to leave, and Draco and I's faces both went bright red in embarrassment.

"My guy!" Blaise said to Draco, giving him a wink as everyone left the room slightly awkwardly.

Once everyone was out of the room and the door was shut, we got out of bed and into our uniform, as it was still a school day.

"Sorry guys", I said when we walked out the room.

"No, it's our fault. We probably shouldn't have unlocked the door", Luna said.

"You unlocked the door?!" Draco said, his voice slightly raised.

"No we didn't", they all said in unison apart from Luna.

"Yes we did", said Luna. "And we should probably be more careful next time we do it, because we don't want a repeat of this morning or last night."

"Luna, there will be no next time because you're not breaking into our apartment again", I said, hoping they would respect our privacy.

"Wait", Draco interrupted, "What do you mean last night? We didn't see any of you guys last night after I proposed."

All of their eyes went wide and they shared nervous glares with each other.

"Can someone please tell me what's going on, or did I miss something?" I asked.

"Well, so uh- last night after you got engaged", Gray paused, and I could tell he was very uncomfortable with whatever he was about to tell us.

"Go on, spit it out", Draco urged, getting irritated that they weren't telling us what was going on.

"Um, we- we thought it would be a good idea to come and congratulate you because, you know, you were engaged", he said nervously.

"Well why didn't we see any of you last night then?" I questioned, because this is the first time we've seen them since Draco and I got engaged.

"So then- I can't say it, can someone else please say it?" Gray pleaded, and I could see his cheeks turn slightly pink. I don't think I've ever seen him this nervous or awkward in my whole life that I've known him.

"Fine, I'll say it", Blaise said stepping to the front of the group, he seemed to be the only one that wasn't awkward.

"So basically, when we came back here to congratulate you, we heard some questionable noises coming from your room and then we realised you were shagging, so we left."

Draco and I's eyes both widened and our cheeks flushed red with embarrassment.

"Fuck", Draco murmured, putting his head in his hands to cover up his pink cheeks.

"Fuck indeed, but don't worry though guys, you both sounded like you were enjoying it very much, especially you Draco", Luna said as she looked over to Draco. Oh my gosh, this girl has no filter.

"Alright, I think that's enough for today", Draco started ushering then out the front door. "We'll answer all your questions later."

"But-", Hermione began to say but Draco slammed the door shut before she could finish the sentence.

"Well that was embarrassing", I said as a sat down on the couch, my face still hot.

"Embarrassing is an understatement", he spoke as he came down to join me on the couch.

News seems to travel at an extreme rate at this school, because by the time we reached the Great Hall for breakfast, it seemed as though everyone already knew about our engagement.

When we walked into the hall, almost all eyes turned to us, or more specifically to my left hand to see if the rumours were true.

I kissed Draco and Indie goodbye before walking off the Ravenclaw table. When I walked there, I could hear a lot of murmurs and whispers. The word that I heard come up the most was 'young', and I knew exactly what they were saying.

I obviously realised that we were still very young, both of us only 18 years old, and we were already engaged. But, just like Draco said last night, we've already been through so much together, more than most 18 year olds have, and have a beautiful daughter. And, we both know that we want to grow old with each other, so why not just start our future now?

I sat down at the table when I reached my friends, preparing for all of the questions they were going to ask me.

"So, can we see the ring?" Cho said, as my left hand was under the table so they weren't able to see it.

"Sure", I said. I could feel at least half of the Ravenclaw's eyes on me when I placed my hand on the table, to show off my gorgeous ring.

"Holy shit!" Gray said as soon as he saw it, "I knew the Malfoy's were rich, but I didn't know they were that rich!"

I was about to reply when I heard a whistle coming from the other side of the hall. I turned around to see what it was and saw that it was Blaise trying to get my attention.

When I caught his eye, he waved his hand to signal for me to come over.

"Sorry guys, I'll be back in a minute", I told them as I stood up from the table. I then made my way over to Blaise, Goyle, Draco and Indie on the Slytherin table.

"Let's see the ring then", Blaise demanded as soon I got close enough to them, not even bothering to greet me.

"And hello to you too", I said before placing my hand on the table.

"Fucking hell Draco! That's not a ring, that's a fucking boulder!" he exclaimed, making a few people laugh. I flinched a little bit at his words as I didn't want a Indie to catch onto the swearing and start saying it too.

I could see Draco smile at the compliment, "Only the best for my Lilah."

"Ugh, you two are so cheesy", Goyle cringed.

"And one day so will you, when you find someone you love", I said.

"That is, if you ever manage to find anyone that loves you", Draco spoke, cashing a few more laughs to erupt from the table.

"So are you gonna change Indie's surname to Malfoy as well then?" asked a boy I hadn't seen much before, but I recognised to be Theodore Nott.

Draco looked up at me, wanting to know my answer as well since we haven't actually discussed this yet. "Of course we are", I replied, making Draco smile even more.

Blaise looked down at Indie who was still in Draco's lap and said, "Your mommy and daddy are getting married, what do you think about that?"

"Cake!" she shouted, picking up a piece of egg from Draco's plate and throwing it across the table, landing right on Goyle's plate.

"Yes, there will be cake", Draco told her. He then looked back up at Blaise and said, "And Blaise, please don't call us mommy and daddy ever again."

"Why not? I think it has quite a nice ring to it" he said, causing Draco to glare at him. "Oh, I see. The only people you want calling you daddy are Indie and Delilah, sorry."

"Oh my god Blaise! Do you ever shut up?!" I could tell by the tone in his voice that he was quite angry, but was also trying to hold in laugh at the same time at his best friends remark.

"Well, not really. I-", he began but was stopped when a piece of toast, sent by Draco, hit him in the face.

"Alright, sorry! I'll shut up", he said, raising his hands up in surrender.

Suddenly, the owls came flying in to deliver the post. A newspaper dropped on the table in front of Draco and, written on the top in Narcissa's writing, was the word 'urgent'.

Draco unfolded the newspaper and our mouths gaped open as soon as we saw what was the main article.

Because, on the front page of the Daily Prophet, was a photo of Draco and I looking quite cosy in our bedroom after he proposed.
