《Baby Daddy》20. Christmas

As soon as Voldemort disapparated away and other Death Eaters began to leave too, my mother stood up from her chair and signalled for me to follow her. I quickly stood up from my chair and followed her over to Jenna and Mary.
"Oh, my dears!" said my mother once we reached them, wrapping them both in a tight hug. "Are you alright?" she asked, worry filled her voice.
"We're okay as we can be right now", replied Mary, then turned to face me. "Draco, you've gotten so tall and handsome! How are you?"
I was confused as to why she was being so positive right now, considering she literally just became a Death Eater, but I answered her anyway, "Um- I'm alright thanks."
"Lovely", she said. "I hope you don't mind me asking, but have you by any chance heard from Delilah recently? I realise you two were never really that close but I thought I'd ask anyway."
"Uh, yeah. About that-", I began, but my mother interrupted me.
"Oh course he has, don't be silly! After all they do have a child together", she said. I forgot I didn't tell her that Delilah's parents still think that Grayson was the father.
"What?" Jenna and Mary said in unison, both with a confused look on their faces.
"What do you mean?" asked Jenna.
"Oh dear!" my mother said, looking a little worried. "Did Delilah not tell you she was pregnant?"
"No, no, she did. But she told us that Grayson was the father", Mary said.
All three of them turned to me, as I was standing there awkwardly, not knowing what to do.
"Draco," my mother asked, "can you tell us what's going on?"
I gulped before answering. "I- I don't think it's my place to say, do you want me to take you to her?" This was the best thing I could think of replying in the moment and I thought it was probably a good idea for Lilah to tell them just in case I say the wrong thing.
"She's here?" Mary asked, looking around for her daughter amongst the Death Eaters. Luckily no one was close enough to hear our conversation though because God knows what would happen if they found out I had a child.
"Um- yeah, she's upstairs", I started to walk away, hoping they'd follow, and luckily they did. I lead them upstairs and to my room where Lilah was.
I heard the door open and saw Draco walking in. "Draco!" I said, "How was the meet-", but I immediately paused when I saw who he was with.
"Mom!" I exclaimed as I ran up to them and wrapped them in my arms as Draco closed the door to make sure nobody saw or heard I was in here. "I've missed you guys so much! What are you doing here anyway?"

"Uh, we were found and now the Dark Lord has made us... Death Eaters", as soon as she said this my face dropped.
"It's okay though, we're safe! Don't worry", said Mary quickly once she saw my sudden change of expression.
"Are you sure?" I asked, wanting to make sure they were okay.
"I think so, I mean, we're as safe as we can be in this situation", Mary said. "But anyway, enough about us, we want the hear the truth."
"The... truth?" I repeated. What were they going on about?
"Well, Narcissa let it slip that Grayson isn't actually the real father", she then looked over towards Draco and then back at me. "So, would you care to explain?"
To my relief, the tone in her voice wasn't angry, just a bit confused.
"Well um- okay", I stuttered out. I took a deep breath before telling them everything.
"So, Ash took me to a party a few weeks before our OWLs and that was where I bumped into Draco, and then we, uh, you know." This is one of the most awkward conversations I've ever had. "So then a few weeks later, just before school ended I found out I was pregnant and Grayson agreed to pretend to be the father to you guys and Anna since, well, let's just say Draco and I weren't on very good terms."
I decided not to tell them about what Draco had said in the library because that probably wouldn't turn out very good for either of us. "So, eventually time passed and I didn't tell Draco which, looking back on it know, probably wasn't the best idea."
Draco then continued, "We were in Transfiguration class and then Lilah started to scream out in pain and Professor McGonagall had me take her to the infirmary. As I took her she told me it was just cramps but I later found out that was when she was in labour."
He then nodded to me to finish the story. "So a few months passed and I started to grow a bit closer to Draco since we had to sit next to each other in Transfiguration. But still, nobody knew about me being a mother. I didn't tell Draco about Indie until he got into a fight with Potter and ended up in the infirmary and heard a baby crying. So, that was when I told him and then introduced them to each other."
"They got to know each other for a couple of days and grew to be very close", I carried on. "Then, one evening, Draco came rushing in and told us we had to leave as it wasn't safe anymore, so he apparated us here, to the manor. That was the night that Professor Dumbledore was killed. Ever since then, Draco has kept Indie and I safe here, with the help of Narcissa. So, yeah. That's the truth I guess."

"Are you two, you know, together now or just friends?" asked Mary. I was so relieved that she wasn't mad about me lying to them about Grayson. Also, I think she knew that I was a little uncomfortable about that topic so I'm guessing she chose to leave it alone for now.
"Oh yeah, we're dating. Draco asked me on my birthday", I replied, smiling at the memory.
"Aw, how lovely", said Jenna, smiling.
"Would you like to meet Indie?" Draco asked them, which they enthusiastically nodded their heads to. I forgot they hadn't met her yet, or even knew that she was a girl.
"Thanks for the apartment by the way moms, it was really helpful", I said as Draco went over to crib in the corner of the room to grab Indie.
"Oh it was nothing, it's the least we could do really", Jenna said. "And we're so, so sorry we left you princess, especially during that time."
"Do not worry at all!" I exclaimed. "I understand why you did it."
"Thank you sweetie", she said.
We all turned our attention to Draco who was now walking back over to us, with Indie in his arms.
For the next hour or so, we all just spent time catching up and Draco and I told them all about Indie, whilst they both played with her. And, suddenly, it was sadly time for them to leave.
"We'll come and visit you as much as we can alright?" Mary said, just as they were about to walk out.
"That'll be amazing, but try not to make it obvious so that no one finds out Indie and I are here."
"Of course princess", Jenna said, then they both gave me a kiss on the cheek, said goodbye and left.
-----
With my parents coming to visit after almost every Death Eater meeting now, time was going by so fast and before I knew it, it was Christmas Day.
"Merry Christmas my love", Draco spoke softly, waking me up from my slumber.
I opened my eyes and stretched my arms before replying with, "Merry Christmas!" then gave him a quick peck on the lips.
We both showered and got ready in slightly festive outfits. Draco in a dark green jumper with a collar and black jeans, and I was in white jeans with a red jumper.
"Red? Seriously?" Draco said once he saw my outfit, his eyebrows raised.
"Hey! What's wrong with red?" I said, a little offended.
"It's the Gryffindor colour! Why couldn't you wear green, like Slytherin?" he huffed.
"Oh my gosh Draco, you are such a drama queen!" I chuckled. "Just because I'm wearing red, it doesn't mean I'm going against Slytherin. And besides, I'm not even in Slytherin!"
"Fine", he sighed before going over to his drawer and taking out a little white box, wrapped with a green ribbon, of course.
"Here," he said as he handed it over to me, "for you."
"Aw, Draco! You didn't have to get me anything", I said, starting to untie the ribbon.
"Of course I had to. I mean, your are my girlfriend after all", he smiled. I took the ribbon completely off the box and opened it up. My jaw dropped at the sight of what I saw.
Inside the box was a very gorgeous, and expensive looking, necklace. The charm on the necklace had three rings connected to each other on it and as I looked closer I saw it had something written on it. On one of the rings it had my name, on the other it had Indie's name and on the last one it had Draco's name.
"Draco, it's- it's beautiful", I whispered, almost at a loss for words.
"Only the best for you, my darling", he said, his cheeks slightly blushed as he put the necklace on around my neck.
"I love it!" I said, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"I'm glad", he smiled.
I stood up off the bed and walked over to the dresser where my clothes were and took out the gift I'd bought for Draco.
"What's this?" he said as I handed him the blue and white box.
"Your present of course!" I replied. He didn't say anything else as he unwrapped the box, eagerly wanting to know what it was.
His eyes widened when he saw what was in the box. It was a snake ring that I saw him admiring a few months ago when we went shopping at the muggle shopping centre, so I knew I just had to get it for him since he never got it for himself.
"How did you know?" he asked, his eyes still wide.
"I saw you eyeing it up while you were waiting for me whilst I was shopping. Do you like it?" I asked, still a bit unsure whether he liked it or not.
"Are you kidding?! I love it!" he exclaimed as he pulled me in for a kiss, then slid the ring onto his finger.
"I got the women's version as well so we can be matching", I told him showing him my one.
"Even better", he grinned.
The whole of the day whizzed by as we chatted and celebrated in the Christmas spirit. At one point though, Draco had to go down and have a bit of time with his parents as Lucius was still not aware that Indie I were even here, let alone that Indie existed. But thankfully when he came back he brought me some Christmas dinner and we shared that together.
And then, when the end of the day arrived, we got into bed and celebrated Christmas in our own little way.

Two And A Half Deadmen
Silver-Spruce is a very strange and very haunted town. Ghosts inhabit its buildings and walk its streets. Some of them friendly and sane. Some of them not so much. Alder helps ghosts. Helps them fulfill their last requests so they can move on to whatever comes next. Sometimes the ghosts aren't so friendly and have to be moved on by force. Alder does that as well. And he's gotten rather good at it too. After a particularly rough exorcism, he finds himself following a strange ghost to a local tourist attraction. And while Alder never means to find himself caught up in chaos, monsters, magic, and mayhem always seem to have a way of finding him. You want more specifics for what you're reading? Here you go: This is Urban-fantasy but a little bit of a different spin. Often the protagonists in such stories tend to be the bigger fish in their world, or at least far from small fry. Be they legendary boogie men or badass wizards (which is in no way a bad thing, I love a lot of those stories.) But I thought it would be fun to have a protagonist who's far closer to the bottom end of the scale. He has some magic, and it's potent in its own way. But he isn't the big dog or a fighting machine. Outside of his bubble of influence, our protagonist is essentially a normal human as far as powers are concerned. And while you should be warned that this story will get dark in some places it's (hopefully) balanced out by humor and the lighter stuff. I'm not sure how to end this synopsis section so I'll just say bye. Bye!
