《Baby Daddy》17. Birthday
Advertisement
A couple of weeks have passed since my trip out with Draco to the shopping centre. Since we've been back, he's spent a lot of his time in meetings with either the Dark Lord, his father or various other Death Eaters, meaning Indie and I haven't been able to spend as much time with him as we would've liked to. However, when we do get to see him, we cherish that time as much as possible. Indie loves Draco so, so much, and he loves her just as much.
It's been getting a lot harder to hide in Draco's room all day, away from the Death Eaters and his father. The first few days weren't too bad, but as time went on, I've found myself incredibly eager to go out. I've thought a few times about apparating away to a park or something for a few hours just for some fresh air, but Draco has begged me not to go as he said he'd never forgive himself if he let me go then something happened to me or Indie, so I never went.
However, today was different. It was the 20th of August, which meant it was my birthday, the day I turn the big old 17. Draco tried his best to avoid having to go to meetings today and luckily he only has one very early in the morning. Once that's over, he said that he has something very special planned for me so, to say I was excited would be a huge understatement.
I was currently sitting at the end of Draco's bed feeding Indie, waiting for him to get back from the meeting. I was wearing the dress that he had chosen for me when we went shopping, and I topped it off with a bit more makeup than I normally do, and some matching black heels.
I had just finished feeding Indie and put her in her crib, when Draco walked in the room. He was wearing his famous all black suit, even though it was the middle of the summer, and I noticed that he had done his hair a bit more than usual this morning.
He froze when he saw the dress I was in, wide eyed. He slowly walked over to me, looking me up and down, his eyes resting slightly on my thighs, before raising his eyes again to meet mine.
As he reached me, he wrapped his arms around me waist, pulling me to him and placed a kiss on my forehead. "I'm not sure if I want to go anymore. I mean, don't get me wrong, you look absolutely stunning in this dress, but if I'm being completely honest, I think it'd look even better on my bedroom floor", he said with a smirk.

"And, as lovely as that sounds, I'll have to deny your offer for now. I'm really excited to see what you've got planned for me", I said, reaching up to give him a quick peck on the cheek.
"If you insist," he pulled back and looked me in the eyes. "But, we'll do some extra celebrating when we get back, if you know what I mean", he said with a wink, making me giddy.
"And don't worry," he continued, "I've asked mother to look after Indie for the whole of today and tonight so we won't have to worry about her."
"Isn't your father home?" I asked, wondering how Narcissa was going to look after her out of our room with Lucius around.
"He's out away on business for a few days so he's not here", he replied. He then walked over to Indie's crib, bent down, and placed a little kiss on her forehead, careful not to disturb her.
He walked back over to me, and grabbed hold of my hand. "Ready?" he asked.
"Ready", I repeated, before he apparated us away to the unknown destination.
"Keep your eyes closed", Draco said when we arrived. He covering my eyes with his large, cold hands and began walking me forwards. The air around me smelled fresh and it felt as though I was walking on grass.
Not too long later, he stopped and said, "Okay, open your eyes in 3.. 2... 1." He took his hands away from my eyes as I opened them, and my jaw dropped as I saw where I was.
We were standing on a field in the middle of nowhere, with an incredible view of a lake in front of us. As I looked down, I realised that I was stood right next to a picnic blanket with as much delicious food on as you could possibly imagine.
"Drac," I said as I turned around to face him, and wrap my arms around his large torso, "this is... beautiful! How on earth did you have time to do this?!"
"Well, I may or may not have told a little lie", he confessed, causing me to raise an eyebrow at him in question. "So, I didn't have a meeting this morning, I was actually here getting this ready for you. I just told you I had a meeting so you wouldn't get suspicious as to why I wasn't there."
"You really didn't have to this for me", I said as I unwrapped my arms from him and looked around my surroundings again.
"No, I really did", he began. "You've done so, so much for me over these past few weeks, more than you know, and you and Indie mean the absolute world to me so this was the least I could do."

"Draco", I whispered as tears started forming in the corner of my eyes.
"Stop crying you big baby!" he joked, making me laugh. "Come on and sit down. Let's not let this good food go to waste."
We sat down on the picnic blanket together and started digging into the food.
"You're not going back to Hogwarts this year, are you?" he asked me as he bit into a sandwich.
"No, I don't think so. It's just not safe enough anymore, especially with Indie around", I replied.
"Good. I want to keep an eye on you two as much as I possibly can to protect you both, because I don't know what I'd do without you guys".
"And I don't know how I'd be able to manage without you either. And not to mention Indie would be devastated not being able to see her father. She absolutely adores you, you know", I said, which made him smile.
We talked for a long time about everything together, but mostly about Indie and how much we loved her.
"Hey," Draco said, "can I asked you something?"
"Of course, go ahead", I replied, taking a sip of water.
"Okay- So, we've know each other for a long time, but over the past two months we've grown a lot closer, and not to mention we have a beautiful daughter together."
"Right...", I said as I nodded, not knowing where this was going.
"Um- so basically I was wondering if maybe you-" he paused then took a deep breath before finishing his sentence, "I was wondering if you wanted to be my girlfriend?"
I couldn't even try to hide the huge smile that grew onto my face. I was not able to find words so I just gave him a long kiss on the lips.
"Is that a yes then?" he grinned when we pulled back, a little breathless.
"Of course it's a yes!" I grinned back at him.
However, before I could say anything else, he scooped my up into his arms bridal style and began running towards the lake.
"Draco!" I screamed, but not being able to hold back a few giggles, "put me down!"
"Never", he said as we neared the waters edge.
"If you don't put me down right this second Drac, I'll-", but before I could finish my sentence, we had already reached the waters edge and he was jumping in with me, both of us still full clothed as we submerged under the water.
"Your hair's pretty when it's wet", Draco said after we both resurfaced and caught our breaths.
"Do you not like it normally then?" I snapped back sarcastically.
"You know what I meant, Lilah", he said. He rolled his eyes jokingly before continuing, "I didn't think I could like that dress anymore on you".
"What do you mean?" I asked, confused.
"Well, now that it's wet, it seems to be see through", he smirked as he stared down at my chest. "And, it looks like you're not wearing a bra either."
"Shut up", I splashed him in the face with some water.
"It's hard to when your girlfriend looks like you", he grinned as he pulled me in for a kiss.
"My views not so bad either", I said after we pulled back.
I hadn't realised I was shivering until Draco grabbed my hand from under the water and said "Come on, let's get you warmed up", then led us to shore.
We walked back over to the picnic blanket and dried ourselves off using our wands, then snuggled up together under a spare blanket. We sat there for about an hour and watched the sunset.
"It's probably time we get back now, and finish the celebrations there", he winked, then stood up and shot his hand out for me to grab.
I laughed as I took hold of his hand and he pulled me up. He held tightly onto me as we apparated back to the manor.
As we arrived back into Draco's bedroom, we were greeted by a smiling Narcissa, cradling Indie.
"How did it go?" she asked excitedly, looking at Draco.
"She said yes", he smiled, the gave me a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Oh goodie!" she said as she wrapped us both in a tight hug. "I'm so happy for you two!"
"Okay mom, you can go now", Draco spoke, getting a little irritated that she was still in the room.
"Okay, okay!" she said as she walked over to the door. But before she opened it she turned back around to us and said, "Be safe kids. As much as I love Indie, I don't need anymore grandchildren for at least a few more years."
"Mom, go!" Draco said, a little louder this time as he turned a bit red from what his mother just said, whereas I just laughed.
"Fine", she said with a knowing smile before leaving out the door with Indie.
"I don't know how many times I'm going to have to say this, but I'm sorry about her", he said, his cheeks still as light shade of pink.
"Apology accepted", I giggled as wrapped my arms around his neck and leaned forward to kiss him.
And then we celebrated. All night.

Author here, just wanted to say that if the synopsis did not sound as exciting as I had hoped it would be, try reading the first 10 chapters? I promise it won't be terrible! :) Whoops, forgot to mention, prologues don't count as chapters! If you've read this far, I might as well tell you what I was inspired by! However, this does NOT mean my story will be similiar in any way to the novels/stories/books listed below. By 'inspiration,' I refer to mainly how the characterizations plot devices, dialogue, conflict introduction/resolution, and thought processes are used and introduced in those works of literature. But in a way, you can interpret this list as, "if the author read and was inspired by these novels, then it's possible that we share similiar tastes, so I'll give this story a try." :) -Those Who Aspired to Become Gods: A darker fairy tale novel (My all-time fantasy favorite despite it being unfinished) -Forgotten Conqueror (Second all-time fantasy favorite) -Brandon Sanderson's The Reckoning trilogy (Third all-time fantasy favorite) -Kel Kade's 'King's Dark Tidings' -Brent Week's Night Angel saga -Red Rising trilogy -Infinite Realm: Monsters & Legends -Reborn: Apocalypse -Reborn: Evolving From Nothing -48 Hours a Day -The New World -Creep -Arrogant Young Master Template A Variation 4 -Can't Cure Deceit -Super Minion -Unparalleled -Unbound -Wake of the Ravager -Overgeared -Solo Leveling -The Tutorial Is Too Hard [email protected] -God of Money -A Snake's Life -The Snake Report -The Tower of God -UnOrdinary -Release that Witch!
