"Baby?" someone asked behind us making us turn around to see who now knew my secret.
When we turned around we were greeted with Grayson's confused face. "Are you... pregnant?" he asked.
"I- um- well, yeah. I am", I stuttered. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you, I was going to but I only found out this morning and when I saw you there were too many people and-"
"Hey, hey", he said, silencing me. He walked over to me as tears started to run down my face for the first time since I found out. "It's okay darling", he whispered once he finally reached us, wrapping me in a tight hug, "it's okay we'll get you through this."
"I'm sorry...for crying...you must...think I'm so...stupid", I cried in between sobs, trying to catch my breath.
"Of course not, I would never think that", he said, rubbing circles on my back. We suddenly felt Ash wrap her arms around us, wanting to join in on the fun.
"I love you guys so, so much", I cried.
"And we love you," said Ash, "and we'll get you through this. Together."
"Together."
-----
We walked down the train's corridors as it began moving, trying to find an empty compartment for the three of us, or should I say four. We stopped as we finally found one and entered it, placing our bags on the racks and sat down.
"So... Grayson," I said, breaking the silence that filled the compartment, "I've been meaning to ask you something, and it's quite... important."
"Shoot", he said, signalling for me to continue.
I took in a deep breath before starting again, "Okay- so, my parents would probably be so upset and angry if they found out that I got pregnant from a one night stand-" I paused, too nervous to continue.
"Go on..." he said, urging me to finish.
"Um- so m-maybe, I don't know. I mean you d-don't have to-" I stuttered, looking over to Ash, begging her to ask him for me.
"Fine, I'll ask him them", she said, looking a little annoyed but relieved at the same time. "Lilah was wondering if, only in front of her parents, you could pretend to be the father of her baby, since they already really like you, and things are a little complicated at the moment with the actual father."
"But I'll make sure your dad doesn't find out, so don't worry about that", I added in, feeling a little more confident.
He paused, expressionless, for a minute or so, probably thinking it over, until he finally spoke again, "I mean, I did promise I'd help get you through this so... only if father doesn't find out."

I was shocked that he actually agreed to this, but wanted to make sure he was definite in his answer so asked, "Are you absolutely sure, like 100% sure?"
"I'm sure, just for you", he said, nodding his head.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you", I said, jumping out of my seat to go and wrap him in a big hug. "And don't worry, your dad won't find out. I'll make sure of it", I reassured him, making him relax a big more as I released him from my arms.
"Okay," he said, pulling out a deck of cards from his trouser pockets, "anyone for a game of Go Fish?" It was his favourite muggle game, and if I'm being honest, it probably is one of my favourite as well.
"Definitely", Ash and I said in unison, before Gray started dealing out the cards.
-----
We spent the majority of the train ride talking about my future with the baby whilst playing many different muggle card games and, before we knew it, it was time to depart the train and say our goodbyes for the summer.
"I'm gonna miss you guys so much", I said, hugging them one last time before they left. "Promise to write as much as you can?" I asked, looking between the both of them.
"We promise, as long as you do too!" said Gray, before picking up his bag to leave.
After we said our final goodbyes, I waved over to Luna and Cho, then started to look out for my sister. It didn't take me long to find her, with her loud voice and bold outfit choices. As soon as she saw me, she ran up to me, picking me up off the ground and wrapping me in bone crushing hug.
"D! I missed you so much", she squealed.
"I missed you too Anna, but no need to break my bones", I managed to squeeze out, starting to struggle to breath a bit.
"Sorry," she said, not sounding sorry in the slightest whilst loosening the hug only a fraction. "I'm just excited to see you and spend the whole summer with you". I loved my step-sister so much, but sometimes she can be a little too much, especially when you're feeling sick and suffering from terrible morning sickness.
"Wow, love the new hair", I said as we pulled back from each other and could finally take in her new appearance. Her style has pretty much stayed the same, but her hair was now black with neon green underneath.
"Thanks, I was getting quite bored of the full head of blue so I thought why not go green and black?" I wish I had her confidence I thought to myself as I remembered I was only wearing jeans and an oversized t-shirt, with my hair up in a messy bun.

"You look nice as well," she said after a few seconds, realising I had gone a bit quiet, "you're skin is glowing, you have to teach me your skincare routine!" she exclaimed, beginning to walk us off the station.
"Oh, um- thanks?", I gulped nervously, suddenly remembering what I had to tell her.
Once we got off the station she released her hand from mine, then wrapped her arm around my shoulder before grabbing her wand and apparating us home.
"Wait," I said, right as we were about to walk through the doors, "can I- can I talk to you about something first? Before we go in?"
"Of course D", she said as she let go of the door handle and led us over to sit on a bench in the courtyard. "Moms aren't gonna be home for another hour, and dinner isn't for another two so we have plenty of time", she explained, sitting down on the bench and pulling me to sit right next to her."
"Before I tell you, do you promise to not tell a single soul without my permission?" I asked, sticking out my pinky finger for her to take.
"Promise", she said, wrapping her finger around mine. I know pinky promises are seen as stupid and childish but ever since we were little, we've both taken them very seriously. If either of us breaks one then they have to be the other persons slave for a whole entire month, and trust me when I say that neither of us would ever want to do that as we would both try our hardest to make the other person's life a living hell. So let's just say neither of us would dare break a pinky promise.
"So, do you remember Grayson?", I asked her, trying to figure out how to tell her.
"Course I do! He's gotten really sexy over the past few years, I must say."
"Annalise!", I shouted, hitting her over the head.
"I'm kidding! I'm kidding!" she said back whilst rubbing the back of her head where I had hit her. "Okay, sorry. Continue with the story", she definitely wasn't sorry about what she said.
"Um, well over the past few months we've grown rather... close", I told her, basically making it up as I go along.
"Like boyfriend and girlfriend close?" she questioned.
"No, no. He's not my boyfriend!" I said, not wanting him to have to pretend to be my boyfriend as well as the father of my child.
"Okay, so more like friends with benefits then?"
"Sure, I guess you could call it that", I answered, just going along with it. Truthfully, thinking about kissing or doing anything of that kind with Gray made me feel sick to the stomach as he is like a brother to me.
"Is that it?" she asked. "Is that what you wanted to tell me, or is there more?"
I thought for a second about not telling her, but then decided against it as I knew it was better if she knew, plus she'd have find out about it eventually. "No there's... more."
"Okay, when you're ready."
"So basically," I paused, preparing myself, "a few days ago I found out that I-" I took a deep breath in and out, then finally told her, "I found out that I was... pregnant".
I hadn't even realised I was crying until I felt her hand wiping away my tears then pulled me into a hug. "It's okay," she soothed, running her hands through my hair, "it's going to be just fine, especially with me and Grayson by your side."
I felt really bad lying to her but I knew that I couldn't tell her the truth just yet. As much as she loves Narcissa, she hates Draco, just like my friends, even though she doesn't know him that well. All she knows of him is that he is a 'bully' and makes fun of people for their blood status, something that they can't change or do anything about. So I knew that telling her that Draco was actually the father of my unborn child probably wasn't the best decision as of right now.
I didn't really believe that Draco was as bad as people made him out to be. I just thought that he was a broken, misunderstood boy because I knew what his father was like as sometimes he'd come and join Narcissa and my moms for dinner at our estate.
But, that all changed after my encounter with him in the library last month and I started to finally realise why people despise him so much. And I so badly regretting sleeping with him as now I was pregnant with his child. Of all the people at Hogwarts of course it had to be the infamous 'bad boy' Draco Malfoy.
Anyway, now that I've told my sister, it's time to tell my moms...

8 137Heroes of Midlaris
Heroes of Midlaris is on hiatus until I finish writing Arc 2, and will resume once Arc 2 has been completely written. There is no ETA for this. After a long, exhausting day at work, where he faced the usual harassment from some of his coworkers, Luke just wanted to return some books to the library, head home, and rest. Instead, he died on the way and became reincarnated into the world of Midlaris, a world of myth and magic. There, he was found and raised by seven elders, who each taught him their craft as he grew up. When he turned sixteen, he began to attend university in the nearby kingdom, beginning a tale of love and friendship, of creativity and growth, and of an ancient past that begins to return. The first several chapters covers his childhood, for those coming to read about him at university. Posting Schedule: Alternating between 2 days and 3 days (so two chapters in a 5-day period). Patrons can read up to 15 chapters early.

This is a story I wrote when I was fifteen. I'm twenty-two. I decided to post this piece hoping it'll help inspire people to finish their story. The point of a rough draft is to barf words onto the screen. It's not suppose to be pretty. It's suppose to be finished.
