《Baby Daddy》5. The Truth

"She's what?!" Ash shouted, jumping out of her seat.
I couldn't help but laugh at what Madam Pomfrey just said. "Haha, very funny. Now please can you tell me what is actually wrong with me."
"I'm afraid I just told you dear", she said with an odd expression on her face.
"No you didn't, you just told me I'm pregnant, and I'm not. How could I possibly be pregnant?!" I urged, not believing what I was hearing.
"Oh, um- So, when a male and a female love each other very much, they-" she began awkwardly, not knowing what to say.
"I know how to fucking get pregnant!" I shouted, sitting up on the bed, not feeling like lying down anymore. "It's just I-", I paused, "are you sure?"
"I'm sure my dear, would you like me to do it again?" she asked.
"Yes, please", I said, feeling bad for shouting at her.
She placed her hand on my stomach and muttered the spell again until I felt the heart beat. "That," she said, "is your baby's heartbeat."
"Oh, that's the baby's?" I asked and Madam Pomfrey nodded. "I thought that was mine!" I said, not really being able to find the right words to say. Not knowing what else to do, I looked over to Ash who's mouth was wide open in shock and asked her, "Do you want to... feel?"
She quickly shut her mouth, realising the attention was now turned to her. "Oh, um- I g-guess", she stuttered, then placed her hand next to Madam Pomfrey's on my stomach. A small smile crept onto her face and she was about to say something until someone burst through the infirmary doors with blood rushing down their arms.
"I'll be right back, stay here and take as much time as you need", said Madam Pomfrey, before rushing over to help the kid who just walked in.
"So... what are you going to do, are you going to keep it?" Ash asked, trying to break the awkward silence.
"I mean yeah, I guess", I answered, still in shock.

"Are you 100% sure?", she questioned, wanting to make sure.
"...yes, I am", I replied, looking over to see she was jumping up and down and clapping her hands.
"I'M GONNA BE AN-" she paused once she realised someone else was in the room, then whispered "auntie!" then continued to clap and dance around. I gave her a look to quiet down, not wanting to draw attention to us, even though there was only one other kid in here.
"Is that Jack guy the father then, are you gonna tell him?" she said once she'd finally calmed down and took a seat.
I paused for a second, confused, then remembered the cover up story I told her, to prevent her from finding out I slept with Draco. Fuck, Draco! I suddenly thought. He's the father, how am I gonna tell him... am I gonna tell him?
"Hello? Earth to Lilah, are you gonna tell Jack?" Ash asked again, after I was quiet for too long.
"Oh, Jack. I don't know, he's not coming back next year though so I'm not sure", I replied, trying to think of an excuse.
"Well if you don't tell him, I'll hunt him down and tell him myself."
"Okay, okay I'll tell him!" I said, trying to get her off the topic of the father. "But what am I gonna tell my parents? They'd be so upset if they found out I'd had a one night stand and managed to get pregnant."
"Maybe you could tell them you have a boyfriend...?" she questioned.
"No, that wouldn't work. They'd want to meet him." We both sat and thought for a bit until Ash jumped up.
"I know! We can say that Grayson's the father. Your parents love him and they probably won't question it further, since you two are already so close."
I paused for a couple of seconds, thinking over the plan then said, "I guess thats the best plan we've got."
-----
A few hours passed of Ash and I going over the plan, and how to get Gray onboard with the idea, and just general talking about how I was going to get through this. Luckily, she had completely forgotten about 'Jack' and asked no more questions about him.

Before we knew it, it was almost time for our Transfiguration exam so we got changed and walked over to the Great Hall to prepare. When we got there we saw Grayson and he immediately asked me "Are you okay, what did she say?"
I looked around and saw how many people were around us before replying with, "Not here, I'll tell you later".
"Promise?" he asked.
"Promise."
I decided to arrive early to my Transfiguration exam to allow myself some extra time to study, so when I entered the Great Hall for the exam, I was one of the first people there. I walked over to my seat and pulled out some of my revision notes and began reading over them.
About 10 minutes passed and many more people began to enter. I looked up to see who was entering and I caught my eye on a certain silvery-blonde haired Ravenclaw walking in, in deep conversation with her Halfblood friend Ashley. Delilah looked up and caught my eye but quickly looked away, flushing a deep shade of red. What was that about? I wondered to myself, now distracted from my notes. Normally she wouldn't even look at me and avoid me completely, but if she did happen to catch my eye, she'd give me a death stare, so I wonder why she looked so embarrassed.
I pushed that thought into the back of my head as Umbridge entered the Great Hall, making everyone stop their conversation and go silent. She walked up to the front, went over the rules and conditions whilst handing out our papers, then told us to begin.
About half an hour into the exam there was a bang from outside the closed doors, causing everyone to look up. Umbridge walked over to them and opening them up then stepping out to inspect the source of the noise.
Suddenly to stupid fucking Weasley twins came whizzing in and threw everyone's paper up in the air. Nooo, I thought, I worked really hard on that.
Fireworks started going off all around the Hall, one nearly directly hitting me in the face. Fucking idiots, how are are they Purebloods and act like that?!
For some reason I found my eyes scanning the room for Delilah, wanting to make sure she was okay. I have no idea why. I then saw her being ushered out of the room by Ashley, trying to avoid the fireworks flying around them. Weird, is she that scared of fireworks or something?
A strange sense of relief filled me when I saw that she had safely gotten out. Why do I care about her so much?! But I was brought out of my thoughts when my attention turned to the huge fire dragon, just created by one of the fireworks, chased Umbridge out of the room. As much as I wanted to please her, I couldn't help but laugh at her terrified face, attempting to out run the dragon in her small pink heels.
Ash ushered me out of the Great Hall as fast as she could because she was worried that the fumes of the firework would harm the baby. As we walked out we tried our best to avoid getting hit by any other fireworks because not only would that damage the baby, but it would probably almost damage me.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt? Do you think the baby's okay?" she asked once we were finally out of the Great Hall, walking down a corridor away from the madness.
"I'm fine, and I'm sure the baby's fine too", I said looking down and patting my belly.
"Baby?" someone asked behind us making us jump and turn around to see who now knew my secret.

Challenged Dungeon and the Arrival of Mana
One day, a few spirits drifting through the astral plane discover Earth and decide to create dungeons to bridge the gap between worlds, and eventually make themselves the gods of Earth. After being created, Three has the misfortune of falling through a grate in an alley in New York City and making that its entrance. Suddenly propelled to sizes much larger than an infant dungeon should be it becomes the frontrunner of all its sibling dungeons, yet faces problems initially attracting creatures. Three's problems only worsen over time as its demanding and seemingly capricious creator gradually strips away its ability to be a true dungeon while compelling it to reach a nearly impossible goal: conquer all humans. Also follow Stan, the alcholic veteran cop and his pet cat Ms. Winters as they get embroiled into the arrival of dungeons and mana. I have most of the story mapped out, but it can still use some work, my goal is to release at least a chapter a week until I am finished. I would greatly appreciate any help proofreading or editing, and advice is always appreciated. UPDATE School caught up with me back then and I lost the thread, so this is now (definitely) dropped, sorry all, maybe I'll get back to it one day.
