《Baby Daddy》4. Stress

Just over a month has passed since my encounter with Draco and I have tried my best to avoid him, which wasn't too hard as we only have one class with the Slytherins and I spent most of my time in the Common Room or in my room studying for my OWLs with Ash, Cho, Luna and Gray.
Also, I decided not to tell either of my moms about what Draco had said because I was worried about what they would think, and - as much as I hated him - I didn't want to get him into trouble with his mother, because I know how much they care for one another.
The first day of the OWLs had finally arrived, the very day I had been anticipating and dreading the most ever since my first day at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. I have been studying ever since the beginning of the year, so I hope that I am ready for them. My exam timetable for the week goes as follows:
Monday - Divination and Potions
Tuesday - Charms and History of Magic
Wednesday - Muggle Studies and Defence Against the Dark Arts
Thursday - Astronomy and Care of Magical Creatures
Friday - Transfiguration and Herbology
Today I woke up with a sick feeling in my stomach, and I felt as though I was going to vomit, so I rushed over to the bathroom, leaned over the toilet and emptied the contents of last nights dinner into it.
I waited there for a couple of seconds until I no longer felt like I was going to be sick, then leaned up again and sat against the shower door, trying to steady my breaths and stop my eyes from watering.
"Oh my gosh Lilah! Are you alright?!" Ash said whilst rushing over to me and sitting down, pushing the hair away from my face.
"I think so, it's just the nerves", I coughed, then grabbed a towel to wipe some of the sweat that had formed on my head away.
"Are you sure, do you need me to go and get someone?" she questioned, wanting to make sure I was going to be alright.
"Yeah, I'm sure. We have the Potions exam today and that's my worst subject so I'm just nervous", I replied, trying to convince myself that that is what it was.
"Well if you're sure you're okay, let's getting you cleaned up and ready", she said, standing up reaching her hand out in front of her for me to grab.

"Thanks", I said before grabbing her hand to help pull me up off the floor.
-----
"Oh my! Are feeling better now?" Gray asked me after Ash had told him what happened this morning, concern written all over his face.
"Yeah, I am. I just can't wait to get Potions over and done with", I replied looking down at my plate whilst moving the food around my plate with my fork, not feeling like eating just in case I vomit it back up again.
"I agree. Divination should be fine though because we can just make most of it up", Gray said, trying to change the conversation once he saw I was uncomfortable.
"True, that's the one subject I haven't really studied for", said Ash. They both continued on talking whilst I began zoned out, still feeling quite sick. It's just the nerves, I kept on telling myself.
I hadn't really realised I had zoned out until Grayson nudged me and said "Come on, Divination is starting in about half an hour. Let's get in some last minute revision", before standing up and getting ready to walk out the Great Hall.
"Good idea", Ash said also standing up and following Gray out the Hall. I quickly grabbed my bag as well and followed them to Divination.
-----
The week went by surprisingly fast and it was finally Friday, the last day of exams. I felt pretty confident with how I performed in most of my exams (except Potions obviously). However, almost every morning I would be sick and Ash was getting extremely worried even though I told her I was fine and it was just nerves.
"Right, that's it! I'm taking you to Madam Pomfrey this second", she said after I was sick for the second time that morning.
"No, honestly, I'm fi-", I tried to say, but she wasn't having any of it.
"Nope, I'm taking you there right now, whether I have to drag you or not!" she said whilst attempting to drag me across the bathroom floor and into our dorm.
"Please, I said I'm fine", I tried to argue with her, but it was no use.
"Cho, Luna, grab her feet and I'll take her arms", Ashley instructed. They both got out of their beds and started to walk over to me before I finally gave in.
"Fine," I moaned, "I'll go, but only if I can walk there myself".

"Good. Okay, we have plenty of time as Transfiguration doesn't start for almost 4 hours", she spoke whilst holding onto my hand and walking me out into the Common Room.
I was still in my pajamas and probably looked absolutely awful, considering I just threw up two times, but I honestly could not care less.
We walked up to the boys dormitories to tell Gray where we were going and, after a few questions, he let us go, then Ash led me to the infirmary. Every now and then she would look at me to check I was okay and not going to be sick again.
After what felt like hours, but was probably only a few minutes, the doors to the hospital wing came into the view. We finally reached the doors and Ash opened the door to let me in, before walking in herself. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with a happy looking Madam Pomfrey.
"Hello my dears, what can I do for you?" she smiled at us.
"Um, well, for about the past week Delilah here," she said pointing at me, "has vomited quite a lot and I'm concerned that she has the flu or something, so I brought her here for you to check".
"Oh dear," she said before leading us over to an empty bed, "Delilah, you can sit down on the bed and Ashley you can grab a chair if you like".
"I'm pretty sure it's nothing, just nerves", I insisted.
"It's better to be safe than sorry I guess. Not trying to get out of the last exams are we?" she chuckled.
I laughed awkwardly and stayed quiet, not knowing what to say, until she finally spoke up again.
"Okay, so I'm going to ask you a couple of questions and please answer them as truthfully as you can so we can work out what's wrong with you".
"Okay", I replied, shifting my position to be a bit more comfortable.
"So, Ashley said it's been going on for about a week, correct?" she asked, looking over to Ashley who was sitting on an uncomfortable looking chair next to the bed I was sitting in.
"Yes. I was first sick on Monday, the first day of exams".
"And is there a certain time of day where you feel most sick, or is it quite consistent", she questioned, then grabbed a notebook to write down the information.
"I only vomit in the mornings, but I also feel quite sick in the evenings. And sometimes when I enter the Great Hall at lunch or dinner", I said, starting to feel a bit sick again.
"Wonderful," she replied whilst writing something down in her notebook, "now, when did you last get your period?"
I thought about it for a second and then realised I was almost two weeks late. I had been so busy studying for exams that I hadn't even realised I had missed it.
"Um, I'm almost two weeks late", I replied, realising I was quiet for a little too long.
"Okay, now that can be a symptom of stress, as well as the vomiting, but I would just like to do a quick test on you if that's okay", she said, standing up and grabbing her wand out of the side of her dress.
"Yeah, that's fine", I leant back on the bed as she walked over to me. She placed her hand just above my stomach and muttered a spell I couldn't quite hear. A few seconds later, I could feel my heart beat radiating through my body.
A shocked expression crossed her face as she removed her hand from my chest and I couldn't work out why. Wasn't my heart beat supposed to sound like that? I thought to myself, getting a little concerned now.
She then quickly rushed over to her desk and shuffled through a few binders and documents. I peered over to Ash and saw that her face was just as confused as mine was, but, before I could say anything, Madam Pomfrey shut the binder she was looking through then walked back over to me with an odd look on her face, but I couldn't quite work out what it was.
"My dear," she said once she reached me again. She grabbed my hand and held it in hers and I was a little confused at first but then she finally spoke, "you're... pregnant."
