Catalaiya's pov:
(May 21th)
(32th weeks)
This morning I woke up to the smell of waffles. I thought that I might be dreaming about it or I might be having a craving but I was wrong. I opened my eyes slowly and I found Aziel setting a few things on the bed while sitting beside me.
"Good morning," I said in my morning voice.
He turned to me and flashed me one of his signature smiles.
"Good morning Love." He greeted me.
"What are you doing?" I inquired curiously.
"Well first of all, happy birthday." He wished me before leaning to peck my lips.
"And I have a few things for you." He added.
I slowly got up and leaned my back against my pillow.
He handed me a beautiful red roses bouquet.
"Thank you," I smiled. I grabbed it and bought it to my nose to smell its perfume.
"I also made a little breakfast for you." He said catching me off guard. I never saw him cooking, I didn't know he knows how to cook.
"You cook for me," I repeated shocked.
He laughed," Yes, even Thalia had the same expression as you when she found me in the kitchen."
I chuckled, "Can you blame us."
He put the tray next to me.
"I knew I smell waffles," I commented.
I took the fork and scoop a piece of the waffle.
"I hope it's good, I found the recipe on google." He admitted.
Let's taste it...
"It's really good," I told him and he looked proud of himself. I took another scoop and made him taste it. He nodded, approvingly.
We both ended up finishing the whole tray within thirty minutes. When we finished, he walked to the closet and after a few minutes, he walked back with a wrapped gift. It was a big box.

"Hope you like it," he says as he handed me the gift.
I took it and unwrapped it.
"Oh my god," I gasped.
I run my fingertip on the necklace.
"Like it?" He asked nervously.
"I love it, but you didn't have to..."
"If I won't spoil you, what kind of husband would I be?" He pointed out.
I put the box down, before crawling to him and wrapping my arms around his neck. I kissed his cheeks.
"Thank you for everything."
He wrapped his arms around my waist, tightening his grip.
"You're welcome, Love." He kissed my lips.
I got a lot of wishes from everyone. Some came from the office, some were from our friends... I even got a picture of Aria holding a written note of 'Happy birthday'.
It definitely made my day...
----
I took a nap in the afternoon and I woke up to a bunch of noises by my side. I opened my eyes and I saw Aziel on the phone, trying to talk lowly as he talk to someone through the phone.
"I don't care!" He stated before hanging up. He sighed throwing his phone on the bed.
"What happened?" I asked him, gaining his attention.
He turned his head toward me and his eyes softened.
"There was a fire incident in one of the halls of the town. A lot of people were injured and among them, there were my parents, your parents and Carter's mother." He explained.
"They are all injured?" I asked.
"No, only Carter's mother. She's in the hospital." He replied.
I furrowed my eyebrows.
This can't be the reason why he was so mad
"Why were you angry?" I questioned.
"Because my mom just call and she told me how irresponsible I was for not visiting them at the hospital." He said with a humourless chuckle.

Oh.
"Shouldn't we check on Carter's mother?" I suggested.
He nodded, "I was thinking about that. He's my friend and I should go there to see if his mother needs anything. If needed I'll call one of my family doctors."
"Can I come with you?" I asked him.
"It's your birthday, I don't want you to spend it in the hospital." He pointed out.
"It'll be fine."

(Catalaiya's outfit⬆️)
We reached the hospital and we made our way to the room where all the fire victims were resting. Carter waited for us by the door and he guided us to his mother.
Carter looked exactly like his mother.
She was wearing an oxygen mask and had a bandage on her left arm. Her eyes were closed as she was unconscious.
"If you need anything, let me know." I heard Aziel tell Carter.
"I will, thank you for coming," Carter said sincerely.
We stayed for like ten minutes before we started to walk to the main door. However, we were stopped by a familiar voice.
"Aziel."
We turned around and saw Hanna looking at us. Her eyes shifted on my belly and for some reason, the fear that I felt when Mason attacked us, came back. She had the same look in her eyes that Mason had.
I held onto Aziel's arm.
"You came."
We looked on the right side and saw both of our parents. There was Davina, Mr Alvaro, my mom and my dad. They all stared at us before looking at my pregnant self. They didn't seem injured but they were hooked up to some machines and their beds were next to each other.
"Not for you," Aziel replied to Davina.
"What is this? Why didn't you tell anyone." Davina stated while pointing at me.
"Everyone close to us knows and I believe that's enough. Sometimes strangers tent do more harm than good." Aziel replied dryly.
"You consider us as strangers?" This time it was my mother speaking.
"What day is it today?" I asked her a simple question.
She frowned, "Tuesday?"
"My birthday..." I replied proving Aziel's point.
Davina opened her mouth to talk but Aziel shut her up," This is a hospital. Everyone is resting and need silence."
He then looked down at me, "Let's go home, Love."
I nodded and we turned around to walk back to the car. As we walked away from the hospital and Hanna, my heart felt lighter and the fear was fading away.

Sara was well acquainted with life on the streets - however, she was not used to being talked to. To most she was nothing, a nobody - just a homeless person. Not worth anything. Not human. That was until she met Sophie.

Luca Bakker, a football jock with haunted eyes and a pretty Dutch accent. And Theodore Hart, a shy kid from school who works at the local pet shop. The idea that the two could ever cross paths - let alone build any sort of relationship - was almost laughable. And yet, here we are. Laughing away.
