《The Alpha is my Mate ✏️ (rewriting)》Chapter 11

I scoot all the way up to the edge of my seat, trying to move away from Masons touch. He manages to make me feel a certain way, I feel butterflies in my stomach and the urge to be close to him. I need to try and keep as much distance between as at all times to keep me from feeling this way, or even doing something. I feel his fingertips move slowly down my arm and it makes me twitch in my seat. Without looking back, I can feel him leaning closer to me, "That was hot how you stood up to Shelby." My breathing is shaky, but I stay staring ahead. I can't let him know how he affects me but I make a mental note how I need to ask him a few things later.

Mr. Kipper walks in with his face scanning over the papers in his hand. Mason retracts his hand which causes me to absentmindedly rub the spot he was touching. Mr. Kipper lays the papers down on his desk and pulls the spectacles from his shirt, ready to start the lesson. He walks over to the whiteboard and goes on about equation and factors, and my mind starts to wander.

I wonder what is going to happen between us. Hell, I wonder if he's able to change.

I hate to admit it, but Mason is one of the biggest players in school, and he has always been since 7th grade. When we were in middle school, he was known as a player because he bounced from girlfriend to girlfriend every week. In high school, he really fulfilled the name because he was known to sleep around and be intimate with many different girls. There is something deep inside of me that feels like he'll never change or it will be a while before he gets out of this party lifestyle. It's an internal battle with myself thinking he'll change, and thinking he's not ready to be serious enough to have a mate.

What if he's not ready to settle down and be serious? Will it take 4 years for him to get all the partying and new girl phase out of his system? With the way he acts and what he says to me, what if he is ready to have a mate? But also, what if this is just the hype of emotions after discovering who your mate is? What if he just wants to sleep with me and keep me around while he does his own thing for a while. There are many things that I'm just unsure about and don't know the answers to.

"Ms. Dawson, what is the answer to this? I know that you were paying attention." Mr. Kipper smirks, emphasizing the 'know'.

"Umm yes sir." I mutter, staring at the clutter of math problems written on the whiteboard. I feel a wash of nervousness fill my body.

Damn it. I shouldn't have let my mind wander off like that. Especially not about Mason.

I feel Mason's breath running down my neck as he whispers, "(v+22g)(v-4g)." I lick my lips and let out a sigh.

"Is it (v+22g)(v-4g)?" I ask after swallowing the huge lump in my throat. Mr. Kipper nods stiffly and eyes Mason. I let out a big sigh of relief and my posture becomes more relaxed.

As soon as I think I'm out of the clear, Mr. Kipper says, "Very well Allie." He turns and starts erasing the math problems on the board. Without turning around, he proceeds to say, "Next time, pay attention so Mr. Wood doesn't have to tell you the answer." I feel my cheeks heat up and I stare down at my notebook, doodling in the corner.

I swing my bag over my shoulders as I'm walking into the pack house with Madison and Catie trailing behind me. Catie left the pack house a while ago before her trip, and she moved in with some of her other family members in a pack in the next county. Even though she doesn't live with us anymore, she still hangs out with my pack. Madison and I are doing good now, and I'm happy that nothing has been strained between us.

"I'll be right up." I mutter turning into the kitchen. Madison nods in response and quietly chats with Catie as they ascend the stairs. As soon as I pass by the fridge, my stomach growls reminding me that I'm hungry. I open the fridge, scanning all of the contents inside. I grab a pudding cup and an apple out of the fridge. I lean against the island, opening the pudding cup and stuffing the spoon in my mouth. As soon as I take a bite, I hear the front door open. I set the spoon and pudding down, curious to see who's here.

The sound of heels clicking against the wood floor get closer to to the kitchen and I hear someone speak. "So tonight, right?" A high pitched, bubbly voice asks. I take another bite of pudding and watch the owner of the voice turn into the kitchen and stops when she sees me. Her shocked expression is replaced with a friendly smile. She's someone I'm not familiar with, and shes wearing a very short skirt and tight fitting T-shirt. "Hi, I'm Beverly." She says, still smiling at me. She is making intense eye contact with me.

I smile back at her and just as I'm about to introduce myself, I hear another voice close behind her, "Who is it?" My grinning brother comes into view, checking out her ass. We make eye contact and his grin drops as he sees me. He turns to her and says, "Bev, why don't you go upstairs and wait for me. Maybe even lose a few layers of clothing. Last door to the right." He winks, pecking her shiny lips.

She takes a long look at me before turning and going upstairs. I finish my pudding cup and hold the apple in the palms of my hand. Justin doesn't say a word to me, and walks over to the fridge grabbing to water bottles. "Justin, we need to talk." I say, tossing the apple up in the air and catching it.

He doesn't stop looking in the refrigerator as he says, "Not right now, Allison."

I ignore him and say, "Justin, I want to apologize."

"For what?" He asks, looking annoyed. Now he is staring directly at me.

I sigh, holding the apple firmly in my hand, "I want to apologize for what I said to you the other day. I shouldn't have brought up-"

Justin holds his hand up and cuts me off, "Allison, we aren't going to talk about this right now." I sigh, knowing that it would be pointless trying to continue this conversation. When Justin doesn't want to talk, there is no forcing him to talk. I don't even bother continuing and grab my water bottle as I make my way upstairs. As soon as I turn the corner to head to my room, I hear heels getting closer behind me.

Clutching my water in my hand, I slowly turn around and see Beverly standing in front of me. She is still smiling at me, but instead of friendly, her eyes are wide and she kind of looks crazy. I furrow my eyebrows and turn my head slightly, and then she speaks, "Hi, you must be Allison. Justins sister, dating Alpha Mason, right?" Her words take me by surprise and I'm trying to figure out her expression.

"No, we're not dating." I reply, confused. Her face drops into a sneer. I stare at her dumbfounded, wondering what the hell is going on.

"Justin's told me a tiny bit about you, but I have heard a whole lot more at school. Like you and my Alpha Mason being mates and now, dating." Her face morphs into a disgusted expression, looking me over. As quickly as it came, it was replaced by a sweet and innocent expression. "Well Allie, I hope we'll run into each other soon. Especially since now I'm going to be in Justins life." She smiles sweetly as someone walks past us. She walks away from me and I'm left standing there, stunned. This girl is either jealous, too faced, or crazy.

What the hell?

I quickly descend the stairs and find Justin still standing in the kitchen. He is taking a big gulp of water as I walk toward him. "Justin, who the fuck is that girl and why did she say she's going to be in your life?" I demand, crossing my arms. He slowly looks at me and then turns away when I give him an expression.

He grabs onto the counter and answers coldly, "Beverly O'Brian, only one of the best to have in bed. She's been around a couple times." That disgusts me, thinking about half of the shit he thinks about is sex.

"You cant find any non-crazy girls? She literally stopped me and questioned me about mine and Masons relationship. Except, she didn't even ask me, she just said that me and him are in a relationship." I say, flabbergasted. He just scoffs and walks past me, ignoring everything I've said.

My brother used to be known at the school player as well. Now, he's just a player. It's not really shocking because almost everyone finds him attractive. Both Mason and Justin have probably slept with the most girls out of everyone else. Not going to lie, its feels disgusting for me to even admit that.

I frustratedly take the steps two at a time and stop when I see Beverly talking with Tyler. He's smiling at something she says and my eyes go directly to her hand on his chest. I can tell that she is flirting by the way she's batting her eyelashes. They talk and flirt for a few moments before she kisses him lightly on the cheek next to the lips and walks off toward Justins room. I pretend not to notice and walk toward my room and look up slightly. Tyler is staring at the back of her body disappearing into Justins room. I clench my fists and look back down. I don't know why I felt a bit of jealousy, but I shake it off and walk in the direction of my room. I might be feeling this way because she has irked my nerves and Tyler is such a nice guy, he doesn't need to be involved with someone like her. I keep replaying what she has said to me in my head.
