《Flashback {Toruka}》Flashback 6

The four ONE OK ROCK members stood facing their manager in his office at the company. Seeing that it was one of their infrequent holidays, the artists' spirits went lying on the ground. "Won't you tell us what we're here for?" Tomoya uttered obviously irked for the urgent request interrupted his food savouring time.
"Ah you see,the company wants the four of you to do all kinds of medical tests, all of the artists signed to us in fact" "Why?!" Taka bellowed at his manager "That's unreasonable!"
The other three immediately agreed with their vocalist piercing glares into the man in front of them. "It's not my fault kay? It's what the president asked since two artists died recently because they discovered their illnesses late. He just wants to ensure his artists' safety" A break interluded their speech which Toru's face took advantage of to turn pale. With trembling lips, the leader has finally spoken "Are we obliged to do them?" "Yes" "b-but" "is something wrong Toru-san?" "No it's just-" his sentece was cut short by a lump forming in his throat, the blondie desperately tried to ignore it but the obstacle announced its power and sent the words back to their houses.
Taka's eyes landed on his lover;as he saw Toru's silently quivering eyes, their youthful days played in front of him,the times he mocked Toru when he said he was afraid of needles danced around him,all the times he made fun of his boyfriend who was then his friend haunted him. Then an invisible train crashed into him transporting all of its guilt onto the vocalist who drooped his shoulders as if the guilt was physically weighing him down.
Pretending to slap an invisible mosquito,Taka waved his hands in the air attempting to dissect his thriving delusions then marched up to the guitarist and held his hand addressing Ryota "we should get going,we promised to go shopping with you right?" The youngest member's head nodded in agreement to their non-existent plans having understood Taka's pleading eyes.

The couple bathed in silence as they trailed out of the office ignoring their bandmates' murmurs behind them. "M-mori-chan?" "Hm?" Having expected a scolding,Ryota was stunned at the frontman's soft reply accompanied with a smile. Nevertheless, the bassist pursed his lips and pushed his words further "What happened back there? I mean...Toru"
Taka contemplated his choices;does he have the right to tell them? Is Toru ok with it? Confusion landed on Taka as he carefully built up an answer for Ryota when Toru's soft voice pulled him from the pit he threw himself in trying to figure out it's puzzle. "It's okay" the guitarist mouthed looking into his lover's soul completely aware of the latter's realization of the matter.
"W-we can't really talk about it here" "well there is a good ramen shop not so far away. Wanna go there?" Without hesitation, the three agreed with their talented drummer and allowed him to lead the way. There at the restaurant, Ryota's chopsticks well from his grip, his jaw as wide as Tomoya's when the truth was spilled.
"So you're....you're scared?" "Yes" Toru mumbled looking down feeling his shame up his throat;of all the things in the world, did he really have to be scared of something this silly? But what can he do about it? "Listen Toru-chan" the oldest of the four voiced catching Toru's attention as intented "you know, fear isn't a shame" he swirled the wooden sticks in between his fingers and resumed "you don't have to be strong at all times;even the best swimmer in the world would lose in front of a tsunami don't you think?" "But-" "it's alright to be afraid Toru. It's totally fine. We understand."
Tomoya looked at the man beside him and chuckled "Ryota here is afraid of worms Toru" "h-hey!" Toru finally laughed watching the heat rise on his childhood friend's face as he playfully hit the drummer restating his sentence that they're scary for the fifth time already.

Warmth filled Toru's palms surprising him for a moment yet it immediately dissolved after he realized its source. The blonde man tightly squeezed the little hand in his giving authority to a smile to gracefully graze his lips.
It's gonna be fine.
Toru lost count of the times he reminded himself that his friends were there for him, that was there for him, until the day his appointment arrived. To his surprise, the three of his best friends, one being his boyfriend, made appointments really close to his in the proximity of time,in the same day in fact.
After Ryota finished his turn, closely followed by Tomoya who threw a thumbs-up at Toru, the guitarist's medical session arrived. Unwillingly, Toru forcefully pushed his legs towards the white door, the door that would lead to the fear hiding behind. "Toru wait!" "T-taka?" "What? you thought you're going to get in alone? I won't allow that, idiot. I was just talking to the nurse to let me in with you." A wave of relief washed over Toru under the effects of his significant other's words. Maybe a tsunami wasn't that hard to defeat after all, he thought to himself snickering.
Inside the sickening white room, Toru refused to acknowledge his fear and waited patiently until the torture ended. When the required amount of blood was sucked out of Toru, and the place the needle pierced was cleaned, he steadily walked after his man out of the room.
The instant they were outside,he called Taka's name. At that,Taka turned around and spread his arms wide for his lover to jump in. "You did well" whispered Taka as he patted Toru's hair a stunning smile painted on his lips.
