《Ryujin Imagines (gxg)》backfired plans (requested)

This is not how you expected your night to turn out.
You were supposed to be out enjoying your night with your friends, but the happiness you once felt over the thought of doing that has completely faded away.
As you stir your straw around in your drink, you try to avoid looking across the room as the girl you love more than anything else in the world cozies up with a girl that's not you.
You're friends... very good friends.
At least, that's what you always say whenever people talk to you about Ryujin.
There are only a few people that know differently.
The only ones that know you're in love with her are the girls.
They're here with you tonight. They had the idea of going out after a very long week and invited you to tag along.
It was nice, at first.
But, somewhere along the way, Ryujin's eyes had been caught by some random girl and now, you're not feeling it anymore.
"Why are you so quiet?" Lia asked as she playfully nudged you, only for you to look at her before looking back across the room to Ryujin and the girl.
The girls all followed your gaze and sighed before looking over at you.
"Oh, y/n," Yuna started to say but you just shook your head and put your glass down.
"It was so nice of you to let me tag along but I just want to go home." You said and started to scoot your chair back to get up and go, only for Yeji to stop you by putting her hand on yours.
"Wait, y/n. Hear us out."
You nodded and the girls all looked back at Ryujin, rolling their eyes as they turned their gazes back to you.
"We didn't tell you this because Ryujin told us not to," Chaeryeong said.
"Tell me what?" You chuckled nervously.
"We accidentally let it slip that you're in love with Ryujin," Yuna confessed and your eyes went wide.

"You did what?"
"Wait, before you get mad, let us tell you the rest! Please?" Lia spoke and you sighed, folding your arms over your chest before nodding for them to continue.
"Ryujin told us that she feels the same way about you."
"Then why is she over there, all over another girl?" You wondered.
"She said she planned on pranking you, somehow hoping that whatever she had planned would get you to confess your feelings for her."
"Oh, did she now?" You scoffed over Yeji's words and clenched your jaw. "So, she's trying to make me jealous, hoping that I'll break and confess my feelings for her myself?"
The girls nodded and you shook your head.
"Well, two can play that game." You mumbled and the girls stared at each other in confusion before you grabbed the pen from the table and your napkin, writing down some random numbers before getting up and storming over to Ryujin.
The girls watched on, oh so curious as to what was happening.
"Hey, Ryujin!" You said you finally stood in front of her.
When she looked over at you, she was trying not to smirk, thinking that her plan had worked.
"Yes, y/n? Is something wrong? Do you have something you want to tell me?"
"Actually, yes." You said and she nodded for you to continue.
"Look! The waitress gave me her number!"
Her heart had been racing with excitement but now, it was sinking in her chest over what you'd said.
"She what?"
"She gave me her number! She asked me out on a date next weekend! Can you believe that?"
She was speechless, realizing that her plan has now completely backfired.
"Well, what did you say?"
"I said yes, of course! I'm so excited, you have no idea."
You turned your back on her and started to walk away from Ryujin, only for her to follow you.
She wrapped her fingers around your wrist and spun you around to face her. Her eyes looked sad as she tangled her fingers in her hair, almost panicking.

"You can't go out with her!"
"Why not?" You asked, chuckling. "You and that girl seemed to be getting quite cozy. I'm sure you planned on asking her out."
"No, I didn't." She confessed. "It was a prank, y/n. It was all just a plan, a stupid plan!" She said in frustration before taking your hand and leading you somewhere that you could have a little privacy, settling for the empty restroom.
"What is going on with you?"
"I messed up!" She said as she turned the lock on the door, her fingers tangled in her hair yet again.
"What are you talking about?"
She sighed and turned back around to face you. She sighed before staring at you intently.
"I thought if I made you jealous, you'd tell me that you're in love with me."
You pretended to be shocked.
"And then I was going to tell you that it was all just a prank and that I'm in love with you too but then that waitress gave you her number and asked you out and I lost my chance. I should've just confronted you about it and told you that the girls told me but I didn't know how you'd react."
Another sigh fell from her lips before she sank her teeth in them and looked at you with a worried gaze.
"Please tell me I didn't mess things up between us even more."
"You didn't... because I pranked you."
She stared at you in confusion.
"Your plan worked. I got jealous and wanted to go home but the girls stopped me and told me what you were doing. They told me that you're in love with me too. So, I thought I'd get you to confess. Which, I did."
She shook her head, chuckling as she did so.
"So, basically, we've both learned that our four friends can't keep a secret this big for too long, huh?"
You laughed together for a moment before a comfortable silence came over you.
"So," she broke it a moment later. "You're in love with me?"
"Wholeheartedly." You said and watched her eyes light up before she placed her hand on your cheek. "And you're in love with me?"
"So in love with you." She whispered.
"So... where do we go from here, then?" You asked and watched her look away from your eyes, only to look down at your lips, then back into your eyes.
She began to lean in and soon, her lips met yours.
But they just barely brushed against them before she pulled away and looked around.
"I want to kiss you. Don't think I had a change of heart because I didn't. I promise. I want to kiss you so badly."
"But?"
"Not here. I don't want our first kiss to be in a restaurant bathroom. Does that make sense?"
You nodded and Ryujin's heart skipped a beat when you sent her the brightest smile.
"Can we go back to the dorms or your place and we can watch a movie? Talk and... kiss more there?"
You nodded and she sighed in relief.
Before she could take your hand and unlock the door, you quickly pulled her close, kissing the corners of her lips lovingly, and her heart started to race as her chest filled with butterflies.
"Now we can go."
"Your place or mine?"
"Mine." You smiled and laid your cheek on her shoulder as she walked you back to the table, the girls squealing with excitement over seeing how coz and happy you were together.
"So, you confessed to each other?" Chaeryeong asked and Ryujin nodded, grinning from ear to ear as she put her arm around you.
"We're going to talk back at her place and watch a movie. See you girls later." Ryujin said and the girls watched as you grabbed your things and headed out the door, happy that you were finally together.

I, Mor-eldal: The Necromancer Thief
As a budding little necromancer, I soon discovered that the world of city people is complicated. When my master kicked me out of the cave, he warned me not to talk about my “dark” magic, because people here don't like the undead. I am not really an undead, I just have a skeleton hand, but it is better to be careful. Anyway, that's not my biggest worry. In the Black Dagger brotherhood, I learn a lot of things, such as illusionist magic, which turns out to be quite handy to survive in this maze of streets: in the Cat Quarter, we have thugs of all kinds that are best avoided. But we also have good people, goodhearted “gwaks”, as we say around here. Little did I know that I would soon be caught up in an infamous traffic that would entangle my life even more. With a mix of lighthearted adventure and picaresque, this story narrates the hectic life of a good-spirited street child and his companions in a medieval urban fantasy setting with some nineteenth-century influences. Updates Mondays and Fridays. This is a Creative Commons By work. It is a translation of a trilogy I wrote in Spanish between 2017 and 2018.
