《Soulbond [Rick Sanchez Fanfiction]》3. Rick

Im abruptly awakened by the loud noise consisting of shouting and screaming. I stare wide eyed up at the ceiling but is calmed down by the aroma surrounding me. Its brings me down enough to be able to remember last night and why im sleeping in a strangers bed.
I turn to the side and stare at the door. The voices outside are coming from three people, two females, one which I assume is Summer, and one male. I tense my ears in an attempt to hear what they're so upset about.
"What do you mean its fine? The house is a mess?! I found puke in the living room!" An upset woman yells.
"I'll clean it up? Okay?! Happy?" Summer retaliates.
I get up and sigh as I notice I didnt even undress for bed, dirty, I want to shower...
I do my best to untangle my hair before stepping out. As soon as I open the door im met with three faces, Summer is one of them, the other is an older woman which I recognize to be Summers mother Beth and the last person is her father... Jerry I think?
"Hello" I shyly speak and shoot them a timid smile.
"Oh" Beth gasps at the sight of me "You didnt say you had someone sleep over? And why is she in Rick's bedroom?" Rick? Rick must be the grandpa then?
"I was wasted alright?" Summer sighs upset and massage her nose with her thumb and index finger.
"Im sorry, I think I drank a little bit too much yesterday, if I caused any problems im sorry" Beth and Jerry stares at me and Beths gaze softens.
"Its fine, its not your fault honey" Beth speaks. I wonder if the recognizes me, I was just a child when I was here last time. I honestly dont remember any grandpa back then? But you forget a lot of things as time passes.
"I can help you clean if you want me to?" I ask and turn towards Summer.

"Ugh, no, no you really dont have to" She replies but I insist.
"Its fine, it'll be faster if we work together, besides im sort of part of the problem right?" I smile and Summer relaxes.
"Thank you"
As we've gotten started Summers little brother Morty enters, I remember him as a baby, now he's a young teen. He's wearing a yellow shirt and jeans and when he notices me his mouth opens to a big O.
"W-w-who are you?" He asks and Summer scoffs.
"Its Y/N you dumb shit" Someone is grumpy? I guess she's hungover, the wrinkle between her eyebrows is deep in pain.
"God morning Morty" I greet while wiping my forehead with the back of my hand.
"H-hi" He stutters and waves awkwardly.
"Dont you have somewhere else to be?" Summer grunts while collecting a couple of mugs into a plastic bag. Some of the content spills out on her hands and she curse silently. Morty walks away and I look after him. She doesnt have to treat him like shit...
"Excuse my horny brother" She says and I cant help but chuckle at her comment.
"What?"
"He cant control his hormones" She frowns disgust as the remaining alcohol makes her hands sticky.
"Speaking of hormones, I noticed that Ethan were checking you out yesterday" I give her a smug smile but she doesnt look entertained.
"No.. He was looking at Tricia, no way he'd look at me" She grunts.
"Why are you saying that?" I pause what im doing.
"Because im ugly? Duh"
"Summer..." I grab her shoulder "You're NOT ugly" Her eyes scan my face for any sign of lies but when she doesnt find it she lightens up.
"Thank you"
We continue cleaning. When we've thrown away all trash we move on to cleaning the floors and wiping all the surfaces. Im standing hunched over the counter top when I suddenly hear a familiar sound. Its the sound from two days ago, the supposed spaceship? I look towards the door that I assume is leading to the garage and slowly move closer. No one else seem to react and as I get closer it gets even stranger.

The scent is back.
"What is it?" Summer ask when she notice my curiosity.
"Do you feel that smell?" I ask while taking another step forward.
"What smell?" Summer walks up next to me with flaring nostrils and then give up and shrug. She cant feel it?
"I felt it in the bedro-" I stop when the door suddenly opens. A lanky, older man with blue, spiky hair halts in the doorway. His limbs are long and he's wearing a lab coat that flows around his legs.
We lock eyes and just stare at each other, his hand doesnt leave the doorknob. Seeing him makes it feel like something is crawling under my skin and I get a sudden impulse to touch him. The feeling is so intense that I hold my breath and it takes every strenght in my body to not give in to the sudden sensation.
We both realize it at the same time.
We're soulbonded.
He opens his mouth as to say something but closes it just as quickly only to then spinn around and disappear into the garage again, closing the door with a loud bang as he leaves and I stand perplexed. He just closed the door in my face. Summers look at the escaping man and then back to me and as her gaze shift back and forth she also realize what just happened.
"Omg you guys are soulmates!" She's loud, I flinch and shake my head; awoken from my trance.
"I...I.." Im stunned, at loss for words.
"Omg omg omg omg!" Summer repeats and almost jump on the spot. Im usure if she's exited or stressed? The rest of the family hear her sounds and comes rushing to see whats happening.
"I cant believe it! You're grandpa's soulmate?!" Summer almost shouts and I hear a gasp behind me. In the corner of my eye I notice both Beth and Jerry gaping, Morty's eyes huge like saucers.
"Your.. grandpa..." I mumble to myself as I try to grasp the situation. If he felt the same thing I did then... why did he leave? Im hit with an explosion of pain and sorrow and I bite my lower lip to stop it from trembling, im usually not this emotional? What is happening to me?
"I need to.." I begin and pull the handle down to chase after him but when I open the garage door is open and he's gone.
He left?
I feel like an empty shell and I hate it. Logically I shouldnt be sad over a person I dont even know, logically I shouldnt be bothered that he left, logically I shouldnt want to run after him but now I feel a heavy blue emotion fall upon me, like a thick blanket, and no matter how much I try to persuade myself that its nothing - I fail.
It hurts and I hate it.
"There must've been a mistake?" I hear Beth behind me and a second later I feel her hand on my shoulder where I stand staring out on the empty street. "You're so young..." I hear melancholy in her voice but I guess the age difference isnt the only reason behind her reaction. How old is he anyway? Sixty? Seventy?
"The universe normally pair people of similar age because of..." Summer grows silent "You know..."
Fertility.
"Will he come back?" I ask but my voice comes out like a mere whisper, broken with scattered emotions.
"You never know with him" Beth answers honestly and I feel my heart ache. He must surely feel as miserable as me? That's how the soulbond works? We completed the first stage so we wont be able to be away from each other for too long...
My life is going to change and im not sure if the change will be positive...
