Hadrian looked at the girl sitting in front of him. He couldn't believe she had played his emotions so well, as well as if she were playing the pianoforte. Rather, he couldn't believe how he let his emotions take control over the situation.
"Lord Vale, please, it would be disastrous for me to be with you in here without a chaperone!" Lady Hemmingway pleaded. Hadrian shoved his temper deep inside him.
"You should have thought of that when you so shamelessly greeted the young lord earlier." Hadrian replied coolly.
"My lord, I assure you, there was a chaperone present, Leia was there, even still we were outside where, if they wanted to, the public could listen and intervene." Rhea implied.
"I did not see one." Hadrian gritted out, he looked at the girl that had been occupying his thoughts ever since their little meeting at his mansion.
He wanted her with a passion that surprised him. He found himself wondering what life would be like with her as his wife, by his side, bearing his children . . .
And wouldn't there be children? But there was never enthusiasm to looking onto the wedding night . . . so why was he dreaming about her, thinking about how she would be with him? How they would be together?
Christ, he needed her. In the little while that he had been with her he knew she was the one to be his wife. He had no doubt about it. Their very first encounter had already taken care of the relationship between them.

But, for the first in Hadrian's reckless life, he found himself enjoying her company, the way she would softly insult him, or get so frustrated her cheeks would flush and she'd bite her lip from saying something to him, the way her eyes would widen so innocently . . .
Dammit, there was no way to get her out of his system. He knew that already. He'd have to tamper it before it controlled his every ability.
"Cassie was in the carriage not a far look from the site, Your Grace." Rhea reigned in her frustration with the young lord. But, goodness, wasn't he handsome this morn?
The way his hair fell carelessly over his brooding eyes and the way he stared at her so intensely. It took Rhea's breath away. What could he ever be thinking about?
She regarded him as he sat on the seat opposite of her. How could such a good-looking man be so rude and inconsiderate? But that somehow brought on his allure.
"I could not see her." Hadrian implied again. "Perhaps, my lady, T'would be best if you had her very close by, don't you think?" he softly suggested.
Rhea found her gaze straying toward his lips. Dear god, they were beautiful. He was the image of Adonis, perhaps even more beautiful.
They were so beautifully made, the outline of his lips. They were plump, but not an abomination. It brought out his rough features, softening them. Rhea found herself imagining him kissing her with those lips, outlining them herself . . .
She blushed profusely. To think of such thoughts! It would ruin her, she turned away. She couldn't stand this confined space anymore. She was becoming too aware of how close they were, the way their knees gave the slightest brush against the other, the way he kept his stare.
And his lips.
She turned to glance at him and saw him casually sitting across from her, his gaze darkening. He had caught her looking. The thought mortified her so.
He smirked, "What are you thinking, little one?"
Rhea snapped her attention back to Hadrian's eyes, determined to keep them there. "Nothing."

"I wouldn't think so." He lifted a brow in a questioning gesture. She looked down at her hands on her lap.
"Really, my lord. T'was just thoughts." She blushed.
"Naughty thoughts for such an innocent." Hadrian whispered. Rhea's eyes widen considerably and she looked up.
"I assure you, my lord, I was not- I could not possibly . . . You are wrong, Your Grace." She stammered. Dear lord, he was messing with her head.
"Truly?" he wondered. Rhea shook her head violently and looked out the small window.
"Of course." Rhea scoffed. Hadrian continued to stare at her; she could feel it searing through her skin and burning her cheek.
"Of course," he murmured. She turned to him and saw him gazing at her, tranquil.
"What of you, Your Grace? What are your thoughts?" Rhea inquired. Immediately, by the darkening of his eyes and the thickening of his voice, she knew she asked the wrong question.
"Very naughty." He answered huskily. Rhea's eyes grew wide once again and she kept her sights on him. "So naughty, my lady, that you'd actually faint from shock."
"I promise you, my lord, I am not prone to fainting." Rhea rolled her eyes.
Suddenly, Hadrian moved forward, capturing her chin with his fingers and tilting her head up to him. If possible, Rhea thought, his eyes seemed darker than before.
Hadrian smoothed his fingers over her jaw line and Rhea breathed in slowly.
Oh lord, what was he doing?
His fingers brushed her cheek and moved to cup her nape.
"I'm sure you don't." he murmured, before crushing his lips to hers in a desperate act of relief. His hand at her nape tilted her head for better access.
Rhea had no time to think of the consequences, should they be caught, but she was already responding to Hadrian's demanding mouth. He probed, nibbled, licked and Rhea, vaguely, remembered hearing a soft moan.
Her hands clutched at his coat, flexing her fingers. She trailed her hands up to his shoulders to balance herself. His lips were soft yet demanding, gentle yet fierce, powerful yet yielding.
She held on desperately as he took her emotions with him on a frenzied ride as they embraced each other in a lovers embrace. Her fingers buried into his hair and she relished the softness of it, the way they slid through her fingers, like silk.
Hadrian touched her cheeks, jaw, eyelids, and hair. Anything that gave him familiarity with her. She was so beautiful that it was hard to not go further.
His other hand danced along her waist, caressing the dress that contained flesh underneath. How he longed to press his skin against hers and feel them together, tangled, in a hot pile, on his bed . . .
Hadrian dragged her onto his lap and started trailing kisses along her jaw and Rhea tilted her head back and Hadrian gave her unknown pleasure, his lips pressed firmly against every bare flesh and Rhea moaned in delight.
Never had a man been given such authority upon her body. To have Hadrian giving her such pleasure made her whole body tingle and her blood rush. Her skin warmed at his every touch and she couldn't help murmur his name.
"Oh, Rhea," she heard him say through the haze coating her. "What I'd do with you, so beautiful and tempting and accepting, my sweet siren."
Rhea sighed as she let his words soak in. But then the carriage stopped. Rhea's eyes flew open and she looked in horror as she saw her home in view.
She pushed herself away and tried desperately to fix disheveled appearance. "Oh god," she cried. Hadrian simply looked irritated at the disruption.
"Come here." Rhea resisted him, but only for a moment, because he dragged her back to him and started working on her hair efficiently.
As he was finishing up, the door flew open.
