Grayson's POV

The room went dark and everything happened so quickly. The two men behind the targets were taken out and I could hear our inside man struggling with the target.

"Take him out quickly," I whispered at him.

"I'm trying!" He struggled.

"Who are you?!" I heard Alex's voice.

"It's Giovanni and Grayson," Gio whispered to her, "Stay quiet. We're going to get you guys out of here." He began to untie her and I untied Leonardo. Our inside man was still struggling with the other guard. I aimed at them fighting, and took out the guard with one headshot.

"Nice shot," Gio praised me.

"I try," I smiled, "Take my hand and stay close to me Alex. Leonardo go with Giovanni." I felt Alex's hand grip mine tightly. She was trembling. This experience must have been really scary for her and I could only imagine how she felt.

We slipped back up the stairs, and I looked around to see if anyone was there.

"What are we going to do?" I looked around the room. I stopped at the table near the bed and froze. Was that me? I looked so different, carefree, happy.

"Do you remember that time?" He came up behind me. He was so close that I could feel his breath on my neck.

I turned around quickly, "I don't, but I look so happy." I tried to create some distance between us by moving.

"We had a very different life from what you have now," he said quietly, "We weren't always in the assassin business. It was more Jhonny's thing. When they took you from me was when I became involved."

"Why do you think I'll remember?" I looked at him.

"You have to remember your first love," he came up to me and grabbed my hand, "How could you not remember what this feels like?" He gripped me closely and intertwined our fingers as though we were going to dance. A memory flooded back to me of a time when he held me like this. We were dancing happily in the middle of a living room. That moment was so carefree and I seemed to enjoy it thoroughly.

"Gianna?" He looked at me worried.

"Sorry," I looked away.

"Did you remember something?" He asked.

"I didn't," I lied," I just zoned out.

I gripped Grayson's hand tightly as if I was holding on for dear life. There was no way that I was letting him go. I followed him closely and we slipped out the front door. As we exited, Jamie and Gina were out there waiting for me.

"You guys!" I squealed. I ran into their arms, my face wet with tears. I honestly thought that I would never see them again.

"Oh Alex," Jamie sobbed.

"We missed you so much," Gina whispered.

"I missed you both so much," I cried even more.

"Alex!" My mom came up behind them. She embraced us all, tears streaming down her face. I could tell that Gina was holding back her tears, trying to be strong.

"Let them go," I looked at her, "It's okay to feel." She gripped me tighter and the tears fell from her eyes.

Leonardo stood awkwardly behind us and my mom moved towards him.

"I'm so happy to see you," she hugged him tightly.

Time for the second part of the plan. To kill Sid. Grayson and I entered the house once again and walked up the stairs. When we entered, Gianna was in Sid's arms.

"What the fuck Gianna?" I roared. They immediately separated from each other.

"Calm down," Grayson said, "You don't know what's going on."

"I came here to rescue you and you're all over him?" I ignored him.

"It's not like that Gio," she pleaded.

"What is it like then?" I pointed my gun at Sid, "You've fallen in love with him."

"Don't do this Gio," she begged.

"What the fuck is your problem?" Grayson tugged my arm.

"Gianna," I said menacingly, "Get over here ."

"If I move you'll hurt him," she said, "I won't move."

"Gianna," I warned.

"I'm not moving and that's final," she said defiantly.

"Will you shoot her?" Sid looked at me.

"If I can't have her, no one will," I looked at the both of them.

"Well that's hardly fair," Sid argued, "She was once my wife and I didn't do that to your family."

"No," I shook my head, "you just kidnapped people and held them for ransom. That's so much better." The sarcasm in my voice was thick.

Sid moved and positioned himself in front of Gianna.

"Kill me," he said.

"No Sid," she tugged at his arm, "No one has to die."

"I will not have you sacrificed," he argued.

"Fine," I aimed the gun at his head.

When I heard the shot, everything happened quickly. Sid and Giovanni fell to the floor simultaneously. A man came up behind Giovanni and shot him. Sod fell to the ground instantaneously. Someone else shot him in the head. Grayson quickly attacked the man and shot him in his head.

"Gio!" I rushed to him as he fell to the floor he was shot in the shoulder, "Grayson! Call and ambulance !"

"I'll be fine," Gio coughed.

"Don't try to speak," I told him, "Someone will come to get you." This wasn't supposed to happen. It was supposed to be a quiet job. Now, the police would be involved because Gio got shot, and everyone in the vicinity could hear the shot that killed Sid.

The ambulance arrived shortly and I hopped into the back of the truck with them. They asked no questions. They stabilized him and told me that he needed to go into surgery to remove the bullet. The hospital wasn't too far from here so they promised that he'd be alright.

"What happened?!" Aurora rushed to me as I stumbled outside.

"We need to leave," I told her, "Everyone leave now! Get to the cars and go."

"We can go to my house," Jamie said.

I nodded, "We will go to the hospital."

Gina, Alex and Jamie went in a car, and I went with Aurora and Leonardo.

"What's going on?" She asked me once more.

"Someone attacked us from behind," I said, "He shot Gio."

"Was that the loud noise we heard outside?" She asked.

I shook my head, "No. Someone shot Sid in the head."

"What?" She looked surprised, "Was that part of the plan?"

"It was," I sighed, "The plan was to make it seem as though Giovanni had turned on Gianna. Sid would then step in front of her to shield her, but Giovanni thought that was too risky. He thought that if he shot the bullet, Sid would try to move and he would end up hitting Gianna. So, he had someone else snipe* Sid so it wouldn't seem as though the shot was coming from him. Something went wrong though. We cleared the house of men. I don't know where that person came from."

"I didn't see anyone enter the house," Aurora said.

"Someone had to be inside," I shook my head, "We missed someone in our scheme."

"Does it matter?" Leonardo joined the conversation.

"It does," I looked ahead, "We can't afford for Gio to be a target."

We arrived at the hospital only to see Gianna pacing back and forth.

"Any news?" I rushed towards her.

"He's still in surgery," she said sadly.

"He'll be fine," I promised her.

"I hope so," she bit her lip nervously.

*snipe - to shoot someone with a sniper rifle (usually the person is killed instantly)
