signals
"You need to get some sleep and stop watching that thing," Rhodes suggested to the Queen. They were both standing there, watching the little pager be powered on to send it's signal. It was so frustrating to wait. Morrigan knew the moment her pager would go off, someone needed help.
"Ah yeah, Morrigan you've been here ever since we turned it on," Bruce said, checking the settings on the system powering the pager.
Rhodes turned to her. "Why are you so hopeful?"
"Why are you so pessimistic?" Morrigan retorted. They have spent the last few days together and really understood when the other was joking or not. A similar friendship she had once before. "Trust me, when that thing stops —" she was about to educate the soldier when the pager suddenly turned off.
"It stopped." He was rather enjoying looking at the Queen's flabbergasted face.
"Did you guys touch anything?" Bruce asked worryingly, checking the system yet again.
"Go get the others." She said as this feeling of hope simmered in her blood. When Rhodes just stood there dumbfounded by what was going on, Morrigan's eyes darkened. "Go!" She barked. Rhodes got slightly frightened and hurried out.
Bruce stopped fumbling with the station. "You know why it stopped." He saw something bright dance in her eyes.
"I think I do."
Natasha and Steve made their way back with Rhodes. "What do we got?" Nat said exasperatedly as the two newcomers stalked up to the glass casing in where the pager was.
"Whatever signal it was sending finally cracked up." Bruce surmised.
"Or received," Morrigan murmured to Rhodes who gave her a weird look. She stood between Natasha and Steve, knowing that the both of them wants this to work.

"I thought we bypassed the battery," Steve said, recalling the effort it took to actually power the pager to send a strong enough signal to the receiving end.
"We did," Rhodes interjected. "It's still plugged it, it's just stopped."
"Reboot. Send the signal again." Steve ordered determined to find out who's waiting.
"We don't even know what this is." Bruce piped up, concerned as to where this was going.
Morrigan cleared her throat. "I know who else has a pager like that. Trust me, they're going to receive the signal."
"Well, tell me the second you get a signal, I wanna know who's on the other end of that thing," Nat emphasized, looking back to face Morrigan. "Whoever they are, I hope they get it." Natasha brushed past Morrigan and stopped abruptly, making Morrigan turn around to see why.
Morrigan never thought she'd see in her iconic suit on Midgard ever again but Carol Danvers had managed to infiltrate the Avengers Headquarters. "Where's Fury?"

In The Tall Grass
Elizabeth Wilson commits suicide. She was the golden girl among her peers in Darkwood, Washington who stood above the pressure of her drug-ridden town. Explore the summer before her senior year that triggered the domino effect of Elizabeth's emotional and psychological breakdown that lead her to take her own life. This is the prequel to the main story, Petrichor and was never intended to be made. I wrote this because I wanted to explore Elizabeth's character and show how the main characters have changed since this event. I decided to release this first because Petrichor is undergoing a full rewrite. In the meantime, I'm writing a side story called Mourning Glory that takes place between the second and third act of Petrichor. Development is going rather fast so I suggest to to read that if you like this story
8 97Ascension of Singularity
In realms where Immortals are gods and devils among men, a Post-Human descended. Hailing from a distant realm, the Post-Human was ordered to conquer it all. But when desires and morality intersect, what is sin, what is justice? A sage can be a butcher, a tyrant can be a saviour. Only victors shall write history! A/N: Story type is largely Xuan Huan and will have irregular update schedule. Chapter length range from 2 - 3 K words each and may have some grammatical errors. While this fiction isn't my first work, I intend to continue it for some time. I hope readers understand that there will be lot of mistakes.

8 182Lord of cauldrons
A man reincarnated to a world where cultivation ruled supreme. One were even practices like human cauldrons and dual cultivation was commonplace and a part of the culture. What was not commonplace was treating these cauldrons with any ounce of respect or affection. These cauldrons were like pills or potions to be used and consumed or thrown away. They were often just a stepping stone in one's immortal path. One man thought, "What if they were my immortal path." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My chinese knowledge is limited to wuxia/xianxia books and cultivator games and I will only follow it loosely, I have my own cultivation system which will be basis for this story The reason I am writing this is because I have yet to find a dual cultivation story that has something I really wanted to read. Using the 'cauldrons' like Pokémon and the 'cauldrons' being the main source of power. I will update this at a minimum of once per week.
