slithering embers
Her hands ignited with slithery embers. The sound of her photon blasts warming up began to fill the room. The hexagonal mat she was on sparkled green as the embers grew into yellow flames.
The sight of her power breaking through the Kree technology filled Morrigan's soul with hope and energy. A giddy smile came to her lips as she watched the surrounding Kree grip their weapons, unsure of what was to come.
"She trying to break out." Korath muttered, bewildered by the extraordinary event happening before him.
Morrigan scoffed. "Trying?" She gave Yon—Rogg an exasperated sigh. "She going to break out. And when she does, she will kick all your asses." Starforce was shifty on their feet as the yellow flames began to course up and around her body. The ship's electricity and power were cut off and on as Carol's power bounced off it. Starforce did not hear the sound of Morrigan's handcuffs drop to the floor as the lights went out for a second.
Hope danced in her heart as Carol's hands broke apart, splitting the bond that held them down. The tentacles broke away like string as her body elevated upwards. Her arms stretched out as her hands held fire. Her feet centimeters from the pad.
In just a few seconds, this glorious spark exploded from the star crescent on her suit. It slithered all the way down her body, engulfing each limb in an electrifying golden ray. Each hair on her head lit up as the sparkle danced up around her face, highlighting every single beautiful feature. Her hands glowed so bright it was blinding. As her feet touched the pad, Carol's head dipped down for a moment. When she looked up, and her eyes opened, it was like a supernova had occurred in each one. Whatever was going on in her head unlocked her most powerful form, and it was amazing to see.

She couldn't tell if Carol could see through the sunlight emitted, but Morrigan unleashed her belt just as Danvers deflected all Starforce members with a superior blast. Her sword shielded the heavy part of the blast but it made her wobbly.
She would've thought Carol went for the Tesseract first, but she didn't. Instead, Danvers took the Queen by the arm and helped her to her feet. Morrigan could barely comprehend the sight of Carol before her, glowing like an actual god. Then, picking up the metal box and taking Morrigan's hand into hers, Carol dashed out from the communications room, leaving Starforce to recuperate.
It felt like they were flying. Carol ran so fast, Morrigan literally took three steppes before she was let go to stand and watch as this running ball of light bashed into a bunch of Kree soldiers next to a door. When she shook her head, she found that on the floor beside her was Fury.
The Agent was flabbergasted. "You know you're glowing right?" So confused to see the other two humans, she nearly forgot about the woman who ran at the speed of light. Standing upon an elevated surface, Carol turned to face them, finally letting whatever sparkle in her toes diminish.
"She knows." Morrigan mumbled, still completely mesmerized.
"I'll explain it later." Walking down to them with this spunk in her shoe was really fascinating to Morrigan. Popping open the metal box, Carol picks up the cube. "Take the Tesseract, leave the lunchbox." Fury had Goose in his hands, trying to make it known he couldn't hold the cube.
"Me?" He gestured to himself, spooked out a little.
"Yes." Danvers answered. She was going to make him take it.
Shaking his head, Fury's voice raised. "I'm not touching that thing!"

"You want me to get you an oven mit?" Carol replied sarcastically.
No one fucking expected multiple alien tentacles to sprout from the mouth of Goose and consume the cube whole. Fury dropped the Flerken instantly, making a frightened sound too. Everyone stared at this fake cat, realizing why Talos was so afraid of it. "Holy shit." Morrigan murmured as the Flerken burped softly.
Satisfied, Carol locks the box. "Get the Skrulls in the quad jet and go." Carol gave Morrigan an affirming nod. "Take the Flerken, with you." Fury had his hands up and balled into fists. He really was never going to get over this whole mission. Carol brushed past Morrigan, motioning that she follow.
As the two blondes round the corridor, Maria gets out from her daze. "Wait, what about you two?"
"We'll buy you some time." Carol hollers.
Morrigan was the last to go around the bend. "Don't loose that Flerken!" Happy that that situation was handled relatively okay, Morrigan sped up to Carol. The two jogged through the vessel, making their way back to the massive area they were in before when they reunited with the Skrulls. "I'm sorry I didn't help you before all of that."
Carol frowned. "I know. And it's okay. Minn—Erva would've shot you dead if you tried. I'm glad you didn't." Relieved that she understood, Morrigan could let go of some regret. "I'm just happy you were there when I got out. I wasn't sure what or who was on the other side."
Morrigan laughed. "Anytime — I knew you'd get out. Yon—Rogg was speechless when you began to glow."
Carol took great pride in knowing that the Queen knew she could save herself, her own way. "Thanks. I would've loved to have seen that." Then they made their way back to the main area.
"You will, when you put his ass to the floor." Sticking her hand out in a fist, Carol pushed hers against it. A proper fist pump.
The two of them quickly spawned a plan of attack in a matter of minutes. "We got this." Carol encouraged.
"Of course we do."
