As Fayre was in the lab working with the Angelic Artifact that Angelisa had confirmed for the woman, Poppy found herself standing on the opposite side of the observational window, watching as the woman began to work on the artifact. She didn't know what it was that was going on and Fayre was heavily focused on what it was that she was doing. Poppy couldn't blame her as she watched her as she was busy working on looking over the artifact in front of her and Poppy shook her head as she watched her.
As she stood on the other side of the window, there were a few seconds that went by as she stared into the room, before she was joined by another figure. Poppy glanced over her shoulder and watched as Carol made her way over toward her. The blonde-haired woman made her way over toward her with more human-like clothing on her back and a small smile on her face as she stared at her. The two of them stared at each other for a few seconds, before the blonde-haired woman stood beside her as they stared into the laboratory as Fayre was busy at work.
Fayre was bent over the worktable and Poppy had her arms folded over her chest as she inhaled deeply, before letting out a heavy sigh. Carol reach over to her and rested a hand on her arm. Poppy lifted a hand and placed it over her own as she brushed her thumb against the back of her hand. The two of them stood in front of the window as they watched the other woman carefully, making sure that nothing went wrong with her as she stood on the other side of the window and Poppy pressed her lips together nervously.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Carol glanced over to the woman as she stood beside her and she inhaled deeply, before letting out a heavy sigh, "Is everything okay? How is Fayre doing?" Carol questioned her as she stared at the woman in front of her before she turned her attention back into the room.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "She seems fine . . . but I'm just worried that the artifact is going to harm her in one way or another," Poppy replied to her as she stared at the woman in the lab before she glanced over to the woman that stood beside her and she pressed her lips together. The dark-haired woman turned to face her, and she shook her head. "I just don't want anything bad to happen to her, you know? She's my friend and I was the one that had signed off on the mission that had brought this artifact back."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "She was the one that wanted you to find something to help reverse the immortality that she has. Whatever happens, isn't your fault," Carol explained to her, and Poppy shook her head as she stared at her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "NO, it is," Poppy answered her as she stared at the woman in front of her. "It is my fault. Maybe not directly, but it is. I was the one that had them bring the artifact here and I was the one that sent for Angelisa to come here and give us the green light for her to look at the artifact. It would be my fault if something was to happen to her."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Carol took a step closer to the woman and she rested a hand on her cheek and she brushed her thumb against her cheekbone for a few seconds, before shaking her head, "Poppy, none of this would be your fault, alright?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "I can't have that on my conscience, Carol," Poppy replied to her and the two of them stood there for a few moments before they turned back to the window to look into the lab that Fayre was in.
They both continued to watch as Fayre was busy at work as she scraped the dirt and mud off of the artifact, but as the woman was working on the artifact, Fayre collapsed to the ground. Poppy was quick to rush into the room and she made her way over toward Fayre and she fell to her knees. She caressed her face in her hands for a few seconds and she stared down at her face as she stared at her and she shook her head as she stared down at her. Poppy slapped her cheek as she attempted to wake her up, but nothing was going through.

Carol rushed into the room behind her and made her way over to her as she stared at the woman in front of her and she made her way over to the two women. The blonde-haired woman stared at her for a few seconds and Poppy glanced up at Carol for a few seconds, before she looked back down to Fayre. That was when she watched a grey streak of hair appear in Fayre's hairline and she furrowed her brows in confusion.
She didn't know what it was that was going on with Fayre and she reached for the grey strand of hair and she ran it through her fingers. She didn't know what it was that had caused the grey strand of hair, but she knew that they were going to find out as soon as Fayre was going to wake up.
They just had to find out what it was that had triggered Fayre collapsing to the floor. Poppy knew that it had something to do with the artifact that Angelisa had given to her and that they were going to have to do more tests with it. But even as they got Fayre out of the lab and took her to a safer and more comfortable place, Poppy couldn't help but want to do tests on her and to see what it was that had caused the grey strand of hair on her head.
She could only hope that Fayre had gotten the answers that she was looking for.

Midara: Requiem
"When the alternative is extinction, all acts, no matter how heinous, are permitted." The story of a little necromancer who only wants to play with abominations against all that is holy dollies and her horsey, Mister Clackybones. Welcome to the novelization of one script I designed for a video game setting I call Midara (I selected the name of a genus of moths for symbolism purposes, not to be confused with anything else). Once upon a time, I dreamed of the setting being the next Final Fantasy. Long story short: Nope. Requiem itself is meant to be an Open-World RPG which adapts to the choices of the player. This is just one of many, many paths that one might follow in Requiem's gameplay, if it ever becomes a game.
