She figured that there had to be something that they had that would help Fayre with anything that she needed. Poppy had a feeling that there were things that were going on in her life, which was why she wanted to be able to be free her from the torment that she had from her immortality. Poppy knew what it was like to be able to live forever when she knew what it was like to watch all of the ones that she loved and cared for grow old without her.
She let out a heavy sigh as she stared at the computer screen and scrolled through all of the ancient artifacts that S.H.I.E.L.D had in their storage. She knew that they had something that would help her friend with everything that she had going on, but the more that she went through everything, the more that she realized that it wasn't the case. That they didn't have anything that was going to be able to help her change what it was that had happened to her. There had to be something that she could've been able to do to help her, no matter what it was that she would've had to do in order to help her.
The woman glanced over toward the device that Carol had given her and she clenched her jaw. She knew that she would've been able to contact the woman and she would've been able to talk to her about what it was that she would've been able to do for Fayre. There had to be something that Carol could do for her, and she knew that there had to be something alien out there. Alien technology had to help them in one way or another, and if it couldn't, she didn't know what the hell she was going to do in order to help her friend – and if she couldn't help her friend, she felt as if she wasn't going to be able to help anyone that she cared about at all.

The dark-haired woman held the device in her hand and she pressed the device to call Carol, and when she watched it go through, her heart lept. She stared at the blonde-haired woman and she tilted her head to the side with a smile. Carol stared at her for a few seconds, before the other woman knew that there was something wrong and that she had called her for a moment.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "What's going on?" Carol questioned as she stared at the other woman, clenching her jaw for a few seconds. "Did something happen? Are you okay?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Poppy nodded her head as she stared at the other woman for a few seconds, before she cleared her throat, "I was wondering if you would be able to help me with something because I've hit a wall," Carol nodded her head as she stared at Poppy, and the dark-haired woman let out a heavy sigh. "My friend, Fayre, has been attempting to figure out a way to rid herself of her immortality, but we don't have any technology or relics in S.H.I.E.L.D's archives that can help us . . . so I was wondering –"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "So you were wondering if I could go out and search for something that would be able to help you help her," Carol finished for her, and Poppy nodded her head as she stared at her. The two of them were in silence for a few seconds, and Poppy gave the other woman a small smile as she stared at her. "I can see what I can do, Poppy. I do have a little bit of downtime with the work that I'm doing with the Skrulls, so I'll see if I can figure something out for you."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Thank you so much, Carol," Poppy spoke as she stared at the other woman before she pressed her lips together for a few moments. She didn't know what to say to her for a few more moments, but she knew that she had to say something. She knew that she couldn't just leave the other woman hanging with what it as that she was thinking, but she knew that she had to say something about how she felt about the woman in front of her. But she knew that she had to say something to her in person, and she had to figure out how she was going to be able to see her. "Do you think, that you would be able to travel back to Earth for a day? So that I would be able to see you and talk to you in person? Don't get me wrong, I like these conversations, but I would like to see you."

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Carol stared at her for a few seconds, before she flashed Poppy a smile, "I'll try and figure something out for you, alright? But I should get a head start on figuring out where I can find that device to help Fayre. And I'll make sure to bring it to you myself."
Poppy nodded her head to the other woman for a few seconds, before the connection between the two of them was cut short. The dark-haired woman sat there in front of her computer and let out a heavy sigh, and that was when Goose jumped into her lap. The Flerken chirped as it rubbed it's head against her chest and Poppy glanced down to the alien creature. She couldn't help but reach down and scratch its ears and she smiled to herself as she pets the Flerken.
The S.H.I.E.L.D agent stared at her computer screen for a few seconds longer, before she began to log out of her system and she shut everything down. She sat back in her seat for a few moments as she stared at a framed image that she had of her and Carol and she clenched her jaw. There were a few moments as she was lost in her thoughts as she stared at the image and she let out a heavy sigh.
All she could hope for was that Carol was going to be able to find something, and quick. Because she wanted to be able to see her, as well as help Fayre, as quickly as she could.

His cousin is the only person he can truly trust, but he must take a chance and put his life in the hands of others if he plans to survive. ***This is the first long-length writing I have ever undertaken, and I wish to get some critical feedback. I am not professionally trained as a writer but I have tried my best to teach myself and make the chapters as clean as possible. I believe I have reached a point where my limited skills cannot improve the work or make any more corrections. It is very difficult to show this work, but if I do not, I fear I will never improve and learn. So here it is. To anyone who lends the time to read all of this and any of my chapters. Thank you.

# The Gemstone of Ominium 2 - Pain
Her unfazed expression didn’t even waver when the blade of her thin sword pierced one of the men all the way through armor, flesh and bone, a gurgling sound bubbling from his throat. With a kick she mercilessly pushed him back, freeing her blade, and glanced down at his dead body sprawled at her feet, confirming that death had indeed taken him. Stepping over the dead man’s body as if it were a mere pebble on her path, she raised her head just in time to see her second attacker lunge at her and, nimbly turning on her heels, she slit his throat. A spray of hot, sticky blood hit her left cheek and slid down her neck, but she didn’t even blink. The scent of the fresh blood filled her nostrils and her brain like an inebriating drug and she stepped forward once again, lightly turning to one side to avoid being decapitated and quickly returning the favor. One by one the men kept falling as she advanced, victims of her lethal, almost mechanical movements, as if she’d been born with a sword in hand and ready to kill …* This is a direct continuation of Book 1 - Denial. You CANNOT start reading Book 2 without reading Book 1, since the story won't make any sense! Enjoy ^_^*

The Swarm
Anthony had been looking forward to playing the hottest new virtual reality game. When he put the VR helmet on he was met with a prompt asking him if he wanted to take a test to become a swarm knight. Thinking that this was one of the classes in the game he accepted. Instead of finding himself in the game, Anthony found that he was transported to a different planet. A planet where he would learn the greater truth of the universe. Everything was based on magic in the universe. Except that magic was based on nanorobots, called the swarm, that had been created through highly advanced technology. Genetics determined the access level and the amount of control that someone could wield over the swarm, and therefore their status in this society. Long ago Earth had been cutoff from the swarm. Now that it had been rediscovered, Earth would be reintegrated into the swarm. Unfortunately when that happened all the current technology on Earth would fail and be replaced with the ability to use magic. In effect, it would be the system apocalypse. As someone able to control the swarm, Anthony found himself in the unique position to influence how Earth was reintegrated into the swarm. Perhaps he could change things enough to save most of the people on Earth. But first he would have to learn how to control the swarm and become one of the leaders in the society he found himself in. Warning: If this fiction was a movie I'd rate it somewhere between PG-13 and R for occasional scenes of violence, gore, and nudity.
