《SEA GREEN MEETS GOLD (N.M. & P.J.)》Chapter 50: Spitball

Percy and Klaus had fallen asleep cuddled up on the couch together.

During their slumber, Apollo arrived at the apartment. The sun god healed Percy's mother.

In addition to the arrival of Apollo, Poseidon had decided to come by for a visit.

He stood in the kitchen with Paul and Sally. "Hi," he greeted.

Sally and Paul both replied, "Hi."

"I brought flowers," he awkwardly handed the bouquet to Sally.

She took the bouquet and sent him a smile. Sally intertwined her fingers with Paul's.

"It's nice to see both of you," Poseidon commented with a genuine smile. "Where's Percy?"

Sally replied, "She's on the couch in the other room. She's still sleeping though."

Poseidon nodded and walked out of the room to find her.

Sally and Paul's eyes locked. The salt and pepper haired man was holding Estelle in one arm.

"Well, this should be interesting," Sally smiled at her husband.

He smiled back and they walked out to the living room.

Poseidon was standing near the couch with his arms crossed. His hardened gaze was focused on the hybrid and demigod, who were sleeping next to each other closely.

"Why is she with him?" Poseidon asked in a disapproving way.

There was a hint of a smile on Sally's features. "He's not that bad. Percy seems to really like him."

"Why?" The sea god was utterly baffled.

He didn't understand what was so great about they guy.

Sally shrugged, "I think he cares for her."

Poseidon wasn't impressed by her words. He moved closer to the couch. Clearing his throat, he expected them both to automatically wake up.

When they didn't instantly awake, he cleared his throat again loudly.

Klaus woke up and instinctively shielded Percy as if to protect her.

The hybrid noticed the person standing above him and his eyes widened slightly. "Mr.-Poseidon-Percy's-Dad," the words combined into one. Klaus shook his head, and decided on, "Sir."

Percy stirred in her sleep. The raven haired beauty pulled him closer.

Poseidon glared at Klaus.

"We were just-"

The demigod cuddled into him again. "Nik, who are you talking to?" She whispered sleepily, with her eyes closed.

"Me," Poseidon replied smoothly.

Percy shot up from her seat. "What are you doing here?"

"I heard your mother was sick. And I also heard you've been getting closer with him."

The sea green eyed being gave him an unimpressed look after hearing his final statement.

"It's nice of you to check on mom. But this," She gestured between her and Nik, "is not a big deal." The demigod started to put her hair into a messy bun.

Her relationship with the hybrid was important to her, but she figured dismissing it would stop Poseidon from attempting to murder Klaus.

The sea god didn't agree. "As your parent, I can decide what is or isn't a big deal."

Okay, boomer.

Percy raised an eyebrow challengingly. "I'm not a kid anymore. And you can't just show up and be mean to the people I care about."

"Who am I being mean to?" The god questioned.

The sea green eyed girl gestured to the hybrid.

Poseidon rolled his eyes and flicked his wrist downward, in an effort to dismiss her words. "He doesn't count."

Before Percy could retort, Poseidon turned his attention to Klaus.

"I need to speak with you in private."

That won't be good.

"Why?" Percy asked.

The sea god looked back over at her. "Why must you question everything I do?"

"Because you do a lot of questionable things." She sassed.

The god gave her a stern look. "Well, now you're being mean."

Percy shrugged, "I guess it runs in the family."

Poseidon smiled a bit at her words.

The demigod noticed Sally was in the room. She looked much better.

"Mom? Shouldn't you be resting?"

Sally sent her a smile. "I've rested enough. Besides, Apollo came by and healed me while you were sleeping."

With perfect timing, the sun god poked his head into the room. "Did someone say my beautiful name?"

Percy jumped off of the couch and rushed towards him.

When she reached him, she wrapped her arms around the god. "Thank you."

He grinned, "You're welcome."

Pulling away from him, she flicked his arm.

Apollo held his arm in mock pain.

"What was that for?"

"You better have a good reason for being so late."

Apollo gave her a weak smile. "I wasn't looking at my phone."

"Seriously?!"

He defended his actions and gestured to Klaus. "Besides, I was giving you some time alone with your boyfriend."

"Boyfriend?!" Poseidon had a scary expression on his face.

Percy cleared her throat and sent a small glare at the sun god.

He pressed his lips together in a line as his eyes widened. "Oops."

She glanced back at her father. In an attempt to sweet talk him, she started, "Dad-"

Poseidon shook his head. He took a deep breath to calm himself down.

He brought his blank stare back to the original hybrid. "Let's speak outside, shall we?"

His tone implied there wasn't any room for refusal.

Klaus slowly nodded and stood up from the couch.

Percy strided back to his side, causing the hybrid to lock eyes with her. The demigod moved to stand beside him and interlocked their hands. "He doesn't have to go anywhere he doesn't want to."

Klaus cleared his throat. "It's alright, love."

Poseidon's glare intensified after hearing the 'L' word.

The raven haired beauty locked eyes with the hybrid again.

He nodded, assuring her he would be fine.

Klaus slowly pulled away from her and walked out the door with Poseidon.

Oh gods.

Apollo followed as well. He briefly glanced back at Percy and made a peace sign with his hand.

"See you on the other side."

He disappeared behind the door.

For fu*k's sake.

Percy and Rudy were positioned in front of the window. They were trying to get a good view of the meeting happening outside between two gods and a hybrid.

Sadly, they were at a spot that the demigod didn't have a good view of. Sometimes she could see a sliver of a person, but that was about it. The three were around the corner of the apartment building.

Dang it.

"You don't think Dad would try to hurt him, right?" Percy pondered.

Rudy didn't respond.

The demigod sighed.

If he does, I'll attack.

The raven haired beauty turned her head to glance at her mom who was standing nearby. She was watching her daughter in amusement.

"See anything yet?"

Percy shook her head and frowned. "No."

Looking at her mom for advice, she asked, "What am I supposed to do?"

Sally shrugged. "I don't know if there's anything you can do. As long as your father's alive, he's gonna be overprotective."

She paused for a moment, deep in thought. "You can't exactly kill your father."

Leaning in slightly, she whispered, "But if you try, make sure there's no witnesses."

She took a sip of her drink.

"Thanks for that, mom."

Sally laughed, "I never said anything. This conversation never happened."

Yeah, okay.

Percy continued thinking about what she could do that would be helpful in this situation.

What if I made a distraction? Would that help?

The demigod glanced at her mom. "Do we have any straws?"

Sally nodded, "In one of the cabinets in the kitchen."

Percy jogged out to the kitchen and found a cup filled with metal straws.

The raven haired beauty grabbed one of the straws and looked through the drawers in the room.

Finding a small piece of paper, she went back to her spot at the window.

Percy tore a small piece off of the paper and chewed on it. She constructed it into the shape of a ball.

Speaking to Rudy, she questioned, "Hypothetically, do you think I could use the water in the air to guide a spitball in their direction?"

The dog barked and stood up, his tail wagging.

"I'm gonna take that as a yes."

With the spitball placed in position of the straw, she moved closer to the open window. Percy tried aiming the straw at the spot where she could see a fraction of a person.

She figured gravity should be working to her advantage since she was in an apartment several floors up, while they were on the ground.

The demigod blew into the straw. The piece neared the figure down below. Right before it got close enough, however, it just hit the corner of the wall.

Dang it.

She tore off another small piece of paper again and prepared her weapon. Repositioning herself at the window, she poked her head out and focused on the water in the air.

Taking a deep breath, she brought her lips back to the straw.

She watched as the small spitball moved farther down, making it harder to see it.

When the figure of her father stepped back, allowing her to see him fully, Percy was ready to cheer.

The sea green eyed girl watched as he picked something off of his shirt.

Success!

Percy was pretty sure that shooting a spitball wouldn't necessarily improve the situation at hand, but it gave her something to do. And it honestly made her feel better.

Besides...it was fun.

The god's eyes began to look upwards, and Percy ducked behind the window.

She outstretched her arm toward Rudy. The puppy happily moved forward and allowed her to run her fingers through his fur. "Who's a good boy?"

Rudy barked happily as if saying, 'Me!'

"Yeah, you are."

Rudy sat down beside her and she wrapped her arm around him, hugging him. He leaned against her.

He's the bestest doggo.

Klaus entered the demigod's bedroom with a slight smile on his face. She and Rudy were laying on her bed.

When the dog heard him come in, he jumped off the bed to greet him. The hybrid lightly scratched the fur behind Rudy's ears.

The demigod propped herself up on the bed. "You good, homie?"

Klaus' eyebrows furrowed. "You're calling me, 'homie'?"

"Yup. Do you not like it, Homie?" Percy asked with the corners of her lips drawing up.

The hybrid shook his head. "Not particularly, no."

"Hm." She fully sat up on the bed. "So what happened, Homie?"

Klaus shrugged, before responding with, "We just talked, love, that's all."

Percy raised her eyebrows. "Nothing...bad happened?"

He chuckled. "No, I'd say it went well." Then he paused. "Well, as well as it could have gone."

The demigod got off the bed. "Did he hurt you? If he did, I'll go full karate kid on him. I'll-" She did hand movements and karate chops in the air.

Klaus smiled softly at her karate chops. "I'm fine, love."

She walked forward, until she was right in front of him. "So, what did you talk about?"

He shrugged and gently picked up her hand. The original placed a soft kiss on the back of it.

"I don't think that's an answer." Percy pointed out.

He kissed her hand again.

"Are you distracting me with kisses?"

A tiny smirk appeared on his face. "That depends, love. Is it working?"

Percy had a hint of a smile across her lips. The demigod wasn't opposed to kisses, but she was still curious.

She moved closer and loosely wrapped her arms around the back of his neck. Her adorable eyes seemed to look into his soul. "Can I at least know a little bit?"

Klaus stayed silent for a moment. "Love...I don't like hiding things from you. And I tell you a lot of thoughts that I wouldn't share with most people. But...I would prefer not to discuss this recent event...at least for now."

His eyes stared deeply into hers. "But I can tell you that it was not as bad as you may imagine. And I believe I actually got him to warm up to me—at least a tiny bit."

Percy seemed happy, but in a confused way. "Really?"

The orignal nodded. "I promise you, it actually went pretty well."

Her eyes sparkled slightly. Then she lightly pushed his arm. "Dam you! I wanna know what happened."

He smirked. "I know. You've made that quite clear."

"Tell meeee." She requested in a very Percy-like way.

He pressed his lips together to hide his amusement. Then he leaned in close to her ear. His voice washed over her. "I still have so many kisses to distract you with."

He followed up with that by placing a soft kiss on her cheek.

The sea green eyed being tried to glance up at him with a mean look, but it didn't quite work. Her whole expression had softened when he gave her a kiss.

Klaus picked up her hand and placed another kiss on the back of it, before looking up at her with a teasing half smile.

"You're annoyingly good at making me want more kisses." She practically pouted.

The hybrid chuckled and placed a kiss on her forehead.

Klaus leaned in closer to her face. "And, you know, the reason I'm not giving you the exact details of what was said, has nothing to do with trust." His words came out softly as he gazed into her eyes. "I-" He faltered slightly, finding it difficult to continue. "I do trust you."

"I trust you too." Her soft words seemed to wrap around him like a hug.

Klaus felt...different. He felt warm inside. He felt loved.

It was something he didn't know how to describe. It was obvious he struggled with trusting others, but people usually didn't trust him either.

Yet, here she was, proclaiming to trust him.

And he felt like the luckiest person in the world.

Klaus didn't know if he could admit it, but something within him felt certain that he loved her.

Klaus Mikaelson loved her.
