The hybrid didn't want to let go of Percy. His arms continued to hold her and she didn't try to pull away.
"Nik?" The raven haired beauty spoke into his chest.
"Yes, love?"
Percy replied, "I still can't stay."
He moved back slightly to see her face, but didn't let go. Klaus' eyes seemed a bit confused.
"The reason I left in the first place was because my mom was in the hospital. Her and Paul were in a car accident."
Before she could further her explanation, Klaus' eyebrows furrowed in worry. "Are they okay?"
The sea green eyed girl nodded a bit. "Yeah. They were discharged from the hospital, but my mom is still healing, so I have to go back to help out and stuff."
"Okay." The original gazed into her sea green eyes. "I'm going with you."
Percy shook her head slightly. "Nik, it's not going to be some fun adventure or anything. And we're not staying at some fancy mansion, it's one tiny apartment. I can't expect you to just pack up your stuff and go to New York with me."
"Love, I may prefer mansions, but I honestly don't care where I am if you're there with me." His infamous smirk appeared in his face. "I want to be with you through the good times and the bad, through sickness and in health."
The demigod had a small amused smile on her face and raised an eyebrow. "First you kneel in front of me, and now you're reciting lines from wedding vows?"
He chuckled and his smirk grew. "Yes, love. I'm clearly trying to woo you."
"Is that what this is?" She spoke with a teasing smile. "I don't know if it's working."
His arrogant expression didn't fade. "Well, love, just give it some time. I'm sure it'll work."
Eh. Kinda doubt it.
"So, can I go with you to New York?" He gave her pleading puppy dog eyes.
Percy playfully rolled her eyes with a small smile. "Sure."
Klaus grinned and stepped back slightly. "I'm going to go pack a bag." He looked down at his shirt, before looking back up at her. "Is there enough time for me to take a quick shower?"
The demigod laughed, "Yeah, okay. Go get ready."
The original's dimples appeared as he admired the small smile on her face.
You'd think someone with vampire speed could move faster than that.
"Run, Forest, Run."
Klaus chuckled and moved forward once more to press a quick kiss on her cheek, before going upstairs.
Percy sighed slightly.
He's such a dork.

About fifteen minutes later, the demigod realized there was a few items she wanted to pick up from her house as well.

She went upstairs to let Klaus know that she'd be back in a few minutes. She heard the water turn off from the bathroom in the hallway.
The demigod walked towards it to tell him through the door. "Hey, Nik?"
She expected to just quickly say what she wanted to say through her side of the door. What she wasn't expecting, however, was for the hybrid to open the door. But, of course, that is exactly what he did.
The door opened and Percy caught a glimpse of a bare chest. Her hand flew to her eyes.
I do not have eyes. She thought to herself.
A deep chuckle sounded from in front of her. "Hello, love."
Percy wanted to lightly wack him with a shovel. But, she realized she might need to see for that.
Then she remembered she had pretty good aim with or without her sight.
"You're naked!" She whisper shouted, her hand still covering her eyes, stopping her from seeing anything.
The hybrid shook his head in amusement. "I'm not naked, love. I have a towel wrapped around my waist."
"But you're shirtless!"
Klaus laughed. "Yes, people tend to wear less clothing when they shower."
She could feel her face go red. "But, you shouldn't have opened the door until you got changed."
He pressed his lips together to stop himself from chuckling again. "Well, love, I didn't bring a change of clothes with me. I was planning on going back to my room to get changed."
Momentarily forgetting why her hand was covering her eyes, Percy moved her hand to look at him in confusion. "You have a bathroom adjoining your room," she pointed out. Once again realizing he was shirtless, she smacked her hand back over her eyes forcefully.
"Ow."
Klaus replied while shrugging, "I prefer this one." He added to his response. "And please try not to hurt yourself."
The demigod couldn't decide if she wanted to punch him or kiss him.
"You suck," she accused.
The original chuckled again.
Her eyebrow rose behind her hand that was covering her eyes. "Why haven't you left to get changed yet?"
The hybrid replied, "Well, love, you're blocking my path by standing in the doorway. Besides, you're the one who started this conversation in the first place. I'm simply being a gentleman."
Percy moved the hand that wasn't covering her eyes towards him in an attempt to flick him.
He easily leaned back to avoid her hand. Klaus smirked when she moved her arm around wildly.
Huffing, she brought her hand back to her side. "Rude."
The curly haired original watched her in amusement. "Love, you don't have to cover your eyes. I'm just shirtless, it's not a big deal."

"Fine." She huffed and pulled her hand away from her eyes. She kept her gaze on his eyes completely, refusing to look down. "I'm not looking anywhere but your eyes."
Klaus smirked and took a step forward. "You're adorable."
"Well, my adorable self can kick your ass." She retorted.
The hybrid's dimples appeared. "I know."
Why does he have to have dimples? It's not fair.
Percy took a step back. "Go get changed."
He stepped forward again. "But it's so much fun to tease you."
The demigod raised a challenging eyebrow. "I can just cover my eyes again and it'll be like you're not even here."
It seemed like he was about to move again, so she covered her eyes with her hand.
"Really, love?" Klaus asked in amusement.
Keeping her hand over her eyes, she took several steps backwards. "Byeee."
She was nearing a wall.
"Love, stop. You're going to hurt yourself."
Percy stuck her tongue out at him.
"If you're close to tripping or crashing into a wall, I'll be forced to speed over there to stop you. Then, you might have to see me extra close up." The hybrid spoke teasingly.
The demigod stopped moving backwards.
He chuckled, "Okay, love. I'm going to go back to my room to get changed. Try to be careful."
"Being careful is boring!" Percy argued.
Klaus smiled again as he opened the door to his room.
At the sound of the door opening, the demigod opened her eyes. "Wait," she called out.
The hybrid turned around and looked at her. "What is it, love?"
She walked towards him, and his eyebrows rose slightly.
Once Percy was in arms length of him, she reached out her hand to poke his chest. "Boop."
The demigod smiled cutely. "Okay, I'm good now."
He was struggling to stop himself from bursting out into laughter.
With a teasing smirk, he spoke, "Are you sure you don't want to touch me again?"
"Nah, I'm good."
Her eyes accidentally trailed down his chest.
There were a few small drops of water dripping down his skin.
Does he not know how to use a towel?
Percy wondered if the water tasted good.
I should lick it-
She immediately shut that thought down.
What the fudge? Ew. Shut up, Brain.
"Well, I'm going to get changed." She could hear the arrogance seeping into his tone.
Dam him!
The door closed behind him, which stopped her from seeing his annoyingly attractive smirk.
Percy stood in the hallway and began looking around. She had forgotten her reason for coming upstairs in the first place.
There wasn't anything too exciting about the hallway. A few paintings were hung on the walls.
The door to hybrid's room opened again and Klaus was revealed. He was wearing actual clothes.
He gestured to his room. "Would you like to come in while I pack?"
She nodded and entered the room. She immediately threw herself backwards on the bed.
"I missed your bed," the demigod commented.
Klaus smiled a bit. "What's so special about it?"
Percy replied, "It's very comfy. It's also your bed, which just makes it better."
The hybrid shook his head in amusement. He placed a duffel bag at the end of the bed. Klaus started putting some clothes in the bag.
"Okay, get ready to take some mental notes. I'm gonna describe the members of my family, so you have a cheat-sheet."
The original had a small smile on his lips. "Alright, love."
"Okay, so, Paul is my stepdad. He's an English teacher at a place called Goode High school. A few years ago, he and my mom got married and had Estelle. Paul is a really sweet guy and despite the fact that I'm not his biological child, he considers me his daughter just as much as Estelle."
Klaus looked over at her. "Does that mean I'm going to receive more threats?"
Smiling, Percy replied, "Maybe."
The hybrid sighed. "Well, at least I've been given a warning."
Percy's smile widened as she continued. "My mom's name is Sally. She is the kindest and most loving person on the planet, but she's also a badass. She raised me as a single mom and would do anything for her children. She makes the best cookies and cakes in the whole universe."
"Estelle is two years old. She is absolutely adorable. She's like a ray of sunshine, she's pretty much always smiling. She likes elephants and her favorite color is sky blue."
A small smile was painted across the hybrid's face. "They sound great, love." He zipped up the bag.
"Do you think they'll like me?" He questioned.
Percy nodded, "Yeah." She sent him an encouraging smile.

Beyond the Bridge
There are many worlds, many multiverses, and you can move between them via the Federation's Bridge network - magical gateways to other worlds. The world dubbed "C'thon" by its inhabitants - or Gamma-Theta-Nu-649, if you ask the Federation's bureaucracy - was deserted when the Federation found it. The "civilized" races had all died out centuries prior, and the wilderness had grown downright feral in their absence. Now, the lonely Federation outpost of Bridgetown is under constant threat from the hungry wildlife, malicious fey, territorial goblins, and wandering undead that surround it. The town's distance from the Federation's centers of power means that it gets precious few of the resources that it needs to stay safe and afloat. Enter the Guild of Adventurers, a plucky and disparate crew who do the Federation's dirty work in exchange for coin. One team, the first of many, crosses the Bridge to C'thon looking for fame, fortune, and (if they're lucky) the answer to a newly-discovered Prophecy. They'll get much more than they bargained for, although first they need to avoid being eaten by the local wildlife. Updates weekly on Wednesday. Chapters will be as long as they need to be for them to work, which means they can vary. If anything drops below 2500 words, I'll post an extra chapter if I have one ready. [PS: This is not a litRPG, but I do borrow heavily from TTRPGs for inspiration, and the general setting and storyline is from a TTRPG campaign I'm running.] [PPS: This is my first attempt at writing long-form fiction. I'm not trying to make a great piece of literature or have a multi-novel overarching plot, but hopefully it'll still be a fun story - let me know what you think in the comments.] [PPPS: Cover image is from a free-download wallpaper by Tyler Edlin; I do not own it, and will take it down immediately if requested.]
