《SEA GREEN MEETS GOLD (N.M. & P.J.)》Chapter 44: Bets and Dramatics

Rudy laid on the couch beside the daughter of the sea. Percy checked her phone to see that she had a text from the sun god.

'Can I visit?'

She smiled a bit and typed back a yes.

Before she could ask when he wanted to visit, Apollo appeared in the room.

Rudy barked and stood up, his tail wagging.

The sea green eyed girl jumped off the couch with a smile. She moved forward and wrapped her arms around his torso. "Hi, Sunny."

"Hi, Blue." The god replied, the corners of his lips rising, as he hugged her back.

She pulled back with a small chuckle. "I didn't realize you wanted to visit now."

"Of course I meant now," he spoke with a grin. "Miss me?"

She playfully nudged his shoulder. "Maybe a little bit. I haven't seen you in months."

"Well, if I remember correctly you've been 'busy.' And you went on a 'werewolf hunting trip'."

Percy shook her head, "That was months ago! And you're busy with 'god stuff' too."

He flicked his wrist downwards, dismissing her words. "Well, god stuff is boring."

She snorted.

Apollo redirected the conversation. "Which is why we need to do something fun. Does this town have anything interesting?"

"Meh," Percy replied. "There's not much to do around here. There's like one restaurant and it's named after the town."

"Hm." The good looked around. "Well, I say, we go anyways."

Rudy excitedly looked back and forth between the two. Apollo's eyes widened and his jaw dropped slightly. "You got a dog!"

He immediately dropped to the ground to greet the puppy. Rudy's adorable brown eyes seemed to light up.

"Isn't he cute?" Percy asked. "His name is Rudy."

Apollo smiled widely. "He's adorable." The god continued petting the dog.

The god of the sun glanced up at the demigod. "Can we bring Rudy to the restaurant?" He asked hopefully.

The raven haired beauty grinned. "Duh."

Apollo, Percy, and Rudy sat down at the bar of the restaurant.

Despite the puppy's size, the demigod still managed to keep him on her lap.

No one in the restaurant seemed to mind that the dog was sitting at the bar.

Two sodas were placed in front of Apollo and Percy.

"Okay, so what did I miss? Are there any cute people I should know about?" The god questioned.

Percy shrugged with a small smile. "Maybe." She took a sip from her straw.

"Spill. Are you with someone?"

The demigod paused. "Well...technically we haven't had the discussion of what we are so..."

Apollo raised his eyebrows. "But there is a 'someone'?"

"Maybe." She responded simply as she tried to stop a smile from spreading on her face. The demigod kept her focus on the soda.

The sun god smoothly asked, "And this person wouldn't happen to be that hybrid that your father met, right?"

Oof.

Percy's head snapped to him, "What would make you ask that?"

"Oh myself! It is him, isn't it?" Apollo exclaimed. Instead of using the common phrase, 'oh my gods,' he referred to himself.

The demigod pressed her lips into a line.

How do you lie to the god of truth?

As if reading her mind he continued, "Don't even try to lie about it."

Avoiding the question, she asked him, "How do you even know about him?"

Apollo sipped his drink. "People have been talking." He glanced over at her. "And by people, I mean your dad. Your boyfriend is toast."

Well...at least toast is yummy.

"Why would he be talking about Nik?" Percy's eyebrows furrowed, not even reacting to Apollo referring to Klaus as her boyfriend.

The god shrugged. "I think he's just being protective over you. When he finds out that there might be something going on between you two, he may... make some bold threats. So, you may want to warn your little boyfriend-who's-not-your-boyfriend."

The sea green eyed girl looked over at him. "Can you not tell him?"

Apollo shook his head. "I won't spread your gossip. But, your aqua-man of a father will find out eventually."

Dang.

Percy gently ran her fingers through Rudy's fur.

Maybe, it won't be so bad. A few threats never killed anyone.

A familiar British accent sounded from behind her. "Hello, love."

The sea green eyed girl spun around in her seat. Her face automatically lit up at the sight of him.

She tried to get up to greet him, but realized a puppy was still on her lap.

Instead, Percy sent him a smile. "Hi." She outstretched her arm out towards him.

Klaus chuckled and moved closer to her.

As their hands intertwined, Apollo spoke up, "So this the boyfriend who's technically not your boyfriend?"

The demigod kicked his leg lightly.

The god mocked immense pain. He dramatically slid to the floor. "I've been shot. I'm bleeding out."

Rudy seemed confused as he watched Apollo's dramatics.

The raven haired beauty regarded him in amusement. "Get up, Sunny."

"I can't. I've been attacked." He put the back of his hand to his forehead. "Tell my poems I love them."

Percy laughed, "Apollo, I will you pick you up off the ground."

The god shook his head. "No! Let me die in peace. The world is fading to black. Thou kick has inflicted such misery. I must say goodbye to the world."

He closed his eyes and pretended to be dead. The demigod let go of the hybrid's hand to gently set Rudy down on top of Apollo.

Rudy licked the god's face happily.

Cutie.

The god smiled and opened his eyes to pet the dog. Glancing back up at Percy, he questioned, "How am I supposed to stay in character for my performance when there's a puppy?"

"You can't. That's the point," the demigod pointed out with a grin.

Apollo sighed, before standing back up the dog in his arms. "Fine. But you're missing out. That performance deserved an Oscar."

"No, it deserves 10 Oscars." Percy argued.

The sun god smiled widely and they fist bumped.

The god looked back at Klaus who didn't seem to know how to join the conversation. "He's cute." Apollo turned his attention back to Percy. "Does he have any twins?"

"No," Percy laughed. "He does have siblings though."

Apollo smiled and looked at the hybrid. "Do you think your siblings would be interested in-"

The sea green eyed girl kicked him again. It still wasn't hard enough to inflict any pain.

"This is abuse!" He placed his hand on his own chest. "Thy kick shalt stop kicking me, for I am too incredible to face such scrutiny."

The sea green eyed girl raised an amused eyebrow, "Why are you trying to be Shakespeare?"

Apollo shrugged. "Maybe Shakespeare is the one trying to be me. I came first."

"Meh." Percy changed the topic. She realized she should probably introduce them. "Nickelodeon this is Apollo."

Before Percy could say it the other way around, and Klaus could question the name 'Apollo,' the god questioned the hybrid's name.

"Your name is Nickelodeon?" Apollo asked.

The hybrid shook his head. "No, no, that just something Percy calls me. You can call me Klaus."

The god nodded with a smile. "Nickelodeon is a nice name though. I'm Apollo."

The hybrid opened his mouth, but closed it and turned to Percy. "As in the god?"

The god of the sun stood from his seat. With Rudy still in his arms, he bowed dramatically. "Yes. You're welcome for that free performance. Praise is allowed."

Intertwining her hand with the hybrid's, the raven haired beauty playfully smiled. "Nah."

Apollo scoffed slightly, mocking offense. "How rude."

The daughter of the sea added, "If the goal was to be dramatic, I think you executed it perfectly."

The sun god grinned happily. "Finally! My work is appreciated."

Rudy licked his face again.

How cute.

After Apollo left, Percy, Klaus and Rudy went back to the Mikaelson house.

The hybrid looked at her in confusion. "So, you're friends with a god?"

"Yeah," the demigod responded like it was the most normal thing in the world. They walked further into the mansion.

His eyes held a look of amazement. "Are you friends with other gods too?"

Percy nodded. "Yeah, but I'm closest with Apollo."

Klaus paused in his steps. "When you say close, you mean in a friend way, right?" He attempted to smoothly slide the question into the conversation in a nonchalant way.

The demigod didn't pick up on his demeanor. "Yeah, why?"

He looked away. "Nothing, love."

Her face scrunched up slightly. "Are you worried I have romantic feelings for him?"

Klaus' eyes widened. "I just- well, I didn't know if-"

The raven haired beauty wrapped her arms around the back of his neck, pulling him close. With a teasing smirk, she questioned, "Did I just make you nervous?"

The original pressed his lips in a line. He looked away momentarily, before bringing his gaze back to her striking green eyes. Hesitantly, he admitted, "I'm normally an impressive speaker, but... sometimes I forget how to form a sentence in your presence."

Percy's hand moved to hold his cheek gently. "And why is that?"

Klaus' gaze remained on her eyes. "I get so lost in thoughts of you, that I suddenly can't think straight." His voice became softer. "You consume me."

Her lips met his. The kiss was gentle and sweet.

Pulling back slightly, she muttered against his lips, "You consume me too."

His arm wrapped around her waist, gently pulling her closer.

Her thumb caressed his cheek. "I don't like Apollo in that way. Never have and never will. Besides, why would I even look at another person in a romantic way, when I get to kiss you?"

Klaus' face softened and his blue eyes stared into hers intensely.

She proceeded to press her lips against his. He pulled her in closer and lifted her up.

Her legs wrapped around his torso, and her arms held him close.

The kiss deepened as their lips crashed against each other.

They clung to each other tightly, in an attempt to pull each other impossibly closer.

"Look at you two lovebirds. Get a room." A teasing voice spoke.

Their lips broke apart, but their faces remained close for a few seconds.

Percy glanced over to where the voice came from. Kol, who had wandered into the room, wore a smirk on his features.

The hybrid looked over as well. "Go away, Kol. Or I'll put you back in a box with a dagger in your heart."

"Honestly, Nik, again with the dagger threats?" He shook his head and walked further into the room. Raising a glass of soda up in a 'cheers' motion, he continued, "Besides, this, is cause for celebration." Kol gestured to the pair who were still holding each other.

Celebration? Will there be a piñata?

Percy smoothly removed her legs from Klaus' torso, so that she was standing. "You celebrate people kissing?"

Kol chuckled and shook his head. He raised his glass to his lips to take a sip. "Oh I'm not opposed to love. Especially, in the case where I won a bet."

A bet?

"You had a bet on us?" The demigod raised both of her eyebrows in slight amusement.

The original's smirk widened. "Yes. Rebekah, Elijah, and I made bets on when you two would get together. And it seems I won."

The sea green eyed girl turned her attention back to Klaus. "Did you know about this?"

The hybrid shook his head. "Of course not. My siblings are idiots." He glanced at Kol. "And, what, brother, did each of our siblings wage in this bet?"

The original simply grinned in response.

Elijah entered the room. "Kol, what shenanigans are you up to now?"

"What makes you think I'm up to something, Elijah?"

The brown eyed original raised an eyebrow. "It is of my understanding that you are always up to something, Kol. And you look far too smug to not have some evil plot or scheme."

"Oh, there's no scheming." Kol pointed at the hybrid and demigod. "But, Percy and Nik are together."

Elijah looked mildly surprised. "Interesting. I was under the impression that it would take much longer."

Oh my gods.

The daughter of the sea cleared her throat. She intertwined her hand with hybrid's. "Uh, I gotta go give my ceiling fan swimming lessons. Bye."

Smooth, Percy. Smooth. Very clever.

She proceeded to pull the hybrid with her towards the kitchen.

Rudy followed behind them.

As the pair walked toward the kitchen, Kol called out, "That doesn't make any sense."

"No, you don't make any sense," Percy replied as she briefly turned around to stick her tongue out at him.

And with that, she vapor traveled Klaus and the puppy away.

The demigod brought them to a small beach. It was pretty close to Mystic Falls.

With a devilish smirk, Klaus spoke, "So, are we here to give your ceiling fan swimming lessons?"

Percy laughed. "I have to admit I'm pretty brilliant at coming up with excuses."

Chuckling, he regarded her fondly, "Remarkably brilliant." The hybrid's arm pulled her into him. He pressed a gentle kiss against her lips.

He pulled away with a small happy smile.

The demigod admired the dimples that appeared on his cheeks.

Klaus and Percy laid on the sand, their bodies facing each other. Rudy was laying in between them.

The hybrid's eyes scanned over her face. "You know, love, you don't talk much about your past," he pointed out.

The demigod shrugged. "Do you want to hear some stories?"

He responded, "Only if you want to share them." Klaus didn't want her to feel pressured to open up to him.

The raven haired beauty nodded, as her fingers gently ran through Rudy's fur. "I first learned I was a demigod when I was twelve. I got kicked out of schools constantly. There were so many unexplainable events that happened when I got emotional."

"I struggled to make friends, growing up and I was bullied pretty often. The only friend I had was a student named Grover. One day, on a field trip in sixth grade, I got into an argument with a bully. Her name was Nancy Bobofit and she was bullying Grover. We were standing next to a large fountain and I jumped to his defense. At the same moment, the water in the fountain grabbed her and pulled her into the water."

Percy continued, "Nancy thought that I had pushed her in, and made accusations against me to our pre-algebra teacher, Mrs. Dodds. Mrs. Dodds separated me from the rest of the class to scold me. It turned out that she was a Greek monster. She transformed into a furie and attacked me."

"My favorite teacher at the time, Mr. Brunner, entered the room and tossed me a pen. When I uncapped it, the pen turned into a sword. I ended up killing my pre-algebra teacher that day. And when I returned to the rest of my class, no one seemed to remember her."

Her eyes glanced back up at the hybrid. Klaus' eyes were widened in shock. "You killed your teacher when you were only twelve?"

Percy nodded with a half smile. "Well, she was trying to kill me too and she turned into a greek monster so..."

And I never liked pre-algebra much anyways.

"You amaze me more each day, love." He spoke with a fond smile.

The demigod playfully rolled her eyes. With a soft, barely there smile, she continued telling more stories.

It would take forever to tell him everything. But, she managed to describe several more of her experiences with monsters and quests.

✧✧✧

I haven't made any decisions of what to have Percy become. One person brought up simply having her be blessed with immortality without having the titles or responsibilities of a goddess. I guess, we'll see.

Thoughts or suggestions?
