《The second granger-Harry Potter》•the second task•

A week after New Years, classes were back in. It had been awhile since then, and everybody could evidently tell that the work was becoming more chaotic each day. Ophelia spent hours studying for several different units while also trying to balance her relationship with Harry. Luckily, they had no issue staying healthy through all the stress.

Harry himself had even more stress than everyone else. He had figured out the song of the egg, but couldn't find a way to breath under water. Since it was the day of the second task, everyone, including Hermione and Ron was panicking.

Ophelia leaned back in her chair in the library, watching Harry flip through the books in a terrifying pattern. He was clearly worried he would drown; he wasn't the best swimmer either.

"Harry you'll be alright." Ophelia whispered, rubbing his back and glaring back at Ron, who was going on about how Harry was bound to die in the black lake.

Ophelia seemed to be the only one calm at the moment. Harry was more concentrated than panicked, but he was still evidently worried; though, Ron and Hermione bickering in the background didn't help.

"I'm running out of time." Harry sighed, clearly losing hope. He turned to Ophelia and gripped her hand lightly. "There's no way I can figure it out."

"Harry you'll figure it out." Hermione encouraged him. "I just can't remember where I read the charm to breathe underwater!"

"Great time to forget Hermione." Ron scoffed, flipping through a book angrily.

"Well I am the one who remembers most of the time am I not?" Hermione snapped back, slamming her book shut.

Ophelia glanced up from Harry's hand and looked at Hermione and Ron. She sat there silently as the two bickered on and on. She wanted to say something, for Harry's sake of course, but she also felt like ignoring it would be the smart thing to do.

Ophelia turned her head to Harry and gave him a weak smile. He gave her one back before looking up as McGonagall entered the room.

"I need the Grangers in my office now please." McGonagall announced, looking to both Hermione and Ophelia.

"Now?" Hermione said in disbelief. Ophelia just sat there with her mouth parted open. She couldn't leave Harry NOW.

"Yes right now." McGonagall repeated, staring at Hermione and Ophelia.

Hermione glanced at Harry once before walking out of the library with professor McGonagall.

"Ophelia!" Hermione yelled, causing Ophelia to jump up from her seat.

Ophelia looked down at Harry and kissed him gently before leaning to his ear.

"You've got this Harry." Ophelia whispered. "You're the best wizard I know."

Ophelia leaned away and walked to the exit of the library. She gave Harry one more smile and walked out with Hermione at her side. The two followed McGonagall a short distance behind, talking in a whisper as they did.

"Why does she need us?" Ophelia whispered, glancing down at her feet as she walked.

"No idea." Hermione replied in a whisper. "I bet it has something to do with the task though.

The two stepped into the office to see Cho and what seemed to be Fleur Delacours little sister. They were both sitting at the desk in a row of 4 chairs.

Ophelia and Cho looked at each other quickly, both unsure of what was going on.

"I will be back in a moment. Take a seat in the remaining chairs please." McGonagall said, shutting her office door after she walked out.

Hermione and Ophelia took a seat quickly. Ophelia sat next to Cho in one of the middle 4 chairs and glanced around the room.

"Do you know why we're here?" Cho asked, looking to Ophelia.

"No bloody idea." Ophelia laughed lightly. She wasn't nervous, just very confused and angry since she couldn't stay and help Harry.

"I reckon it has something to do with the 4 champions." Cho sighed, looking from fleurs sister to Hermione.

Ophelia looked at the others aswell, realizing they all had something in common.

"I get it." Ophelia began, still thinking. "Each champions favourite person maybe?"

Cho smiled brightly, realizing Ophelia could very well be right. Hermione raised her eyebrows, clearly approving of Ophelia's theory.

"Well let's hope we don't get killed today then." Cho giggled, looking at Ophelia again. Ophelia and Cho were really close friends; they were both really close with Cedric, just one was dating home and one was just his bestfriend.

The 4 sat in silence for awhile longer, before McGonagall entered the room again. She shut the door, locked it, and cast a silencing charm on it before walking over to the other side of the desk they were all sitting at. She began to explain how each girl was going to be put into a deep sleep, in which makes them able to breathe under water; they will be asleep until they are brought to the surface, preferably by their champion.

Hermione's champion was Viktor Krum, Fleurs sister was obviously Fleur, Cho's was Cedric and Ophelia's was Harry.

Ophelia was heart warmed by the fact that Harry's favourite person was her. McGonagall described each person as "somebody each champion holds closer than their own life."

Once she was done explaining, she pulled out her wand and smiled.

"Ready girls?" McGonagall asked, receiving nods, some unsure, some confident and some nervous, from each girl.

Ophelia had faith in Harry, eventhough he hadn't even figured out a way to breath underwater. She believed in him, and he knew that.

She nodded confidently, resulting in McGonagall waving her wand.

Everything went blurry. Then it went dark. Then it went quiet. Then it went numb. Then it went to nothing.

She didn't know how he did it, but he did. She knew he would.

Things were cold. For a long time they were. As she regained her consciousness, everything began to feel even worse. She didn't care though, because she knew she was above the surface.

Ophelia's ears rang as the cold air hit them. Everything became bright again, too bright it seemed. She instantly opened her eyes, realizing she was still in the water. She swam up lightly, holding herself above the water as the sound of the crowd filled her ears.

"Ophelia!" Harry urged, staring at her. She looked to the side, finally able to hear him properly. She swung herself around his neck, intertwining her fingers behind his neck.

"You did it Harry!" Ophelia grinned. "I knew you could."

Harry grinned widely as he held Ophelia in the water. Fleurs sister had swam to the land to see her sister; he had helped her come up.

"I guess I did." Harry huffed, slowly pulling them both onto the land.

"You're brilliant Harry." Ophelia repeated, sitting down as Ron ran over with towels for the both of them. They were both shivering like crazy as he laid the towels around them.

Harry wrapped his arm around Ophelia, attempting to warm her up when he noticed she was shivering much more than him. She was much smaller than him too. Ophelia leaned her head on Harry's shoulder as everybody ran over to him and congratulated him. Hermiones was wrapped in a towel as she sat in front of the two, next to Ron. Her hair was also soaked, but she was shaking it dry with a towel.

"And you're alright Ophelia?" Hermione asked again, drying her hair still.

"Of course." Ophelia grinned. "I had Harry around, why wouldn't I be?"

Harry blushed slightly, kissing Ophelia's temple as they all stood up.

"Why don't we get some warmth?" Harry asked, guiding them all to the castle.

Harry James Potter truly was incredible.

Hey! So this chapter is really messy but I have so many ideas for 5th and 6th year Harry and Ophelia so the end of 4th year is going to be very fast. I really wanna make it slow burn but I also want to be able to make 5th and 6th year so.
