《The second granger-Harry Potter》•gryffindor vs slytherin•

"Ophelia wake up." Hermione urged casually, tapping Ophelia on the arm.
The morning sun was gleaming through the open window of their dorm room. It was the day of their final quidditch game of the year. The second game was against Ravenclaw and Gryffindor won. The slytherins had tried to prank Harry with dementor costumes, but he wasn't foolish enough to fall for that.
"What time is it?" Ophelia asked in a worried voice as she rolled out of bed.
"1:20!" Hermione replied, rushing through her stuff.
"Shit." Ophelia yelled, rolling out of bed. "Wood is going to lose it on me! The game starts in 10 minutes.
Ophelia quickly hopped into her gryffindor quidditch outfit and tied her hair into a high ponytail.
She rushed out the door, her broom in hand. Each corner she turned was extra sharp and much quicker than usual. She had accidentally slept in and was never this late to anything.
At exactly 1:30, Ophelia rushed into the pitch and ran over to her team at the side.
"Granger where the hell were you!" Wood yelled, though he sounded relieved.
The whistle echoed through the pitch a second later, thankfully leaving Ophelia no time to reply.
"Good luck Ophelia." Harry whispered as they walked into the pitch.
"Good luck to you to Harry." Ophelia replied out of breath. "You'll do great."
Harry smiled at her as they split up and mounted their brooms. Luckily, the sky was clear and bright today. It was the absolute best conditions possible for quidditch.
Slytherin took the air along with gryffindor seconds later.
Gazing up, Ophelia could see Draco and Harry death staring each other. Harry seemed to be a little extra angry at Malfoy. Possibly because of the fight between Ophelia and Pansy.
Snapping back into reality, Ophelia dived forward and reached out to the quaffle. She gripped it in her hand and dove low. Adrian Pucey was trailing shortly behind her, speeding up as he went.
She swearved up and down several times, taking multiple shots at the ring throughout the game. Slytherin was being beyond rough and had nearly knocked Oliver and even Fred off of their brooms.

"Oh fuck off Pucey!" Ophelia yelled over her shoulder as Adrian knocked the back of her broom with his. "Play fair you sore asshats!"
Ophelia shot forward, taking an instant shot at the ring. The quaffle slipped through the slytherin keepers fingers by an inch and went through the hoop.
"Ophelia Granger from gryffindor scores!" Lee exclaimed from the commentary box.
Ophelia circled the hoop, changing her direction. The slytherin keeper flew directly at her and nailed her in the side, making her broom spin.
She caught her grip on her broom as the crowd gasped and whipped around.
"Ref did you not bloody see that!" Ophelia groaned, knowing damn well the ref didn't. "Lucky this time." She scowled at the slytherin keeper.
Ophelia sped forward, intercepting a pass from the slytherins chasers. They both scoffed and shot after her, taking each side and surrounding her.
She attempted to knock them both but could barely shake them because of how small she was. Instead, she sped upwards, tilting her broom upwards steeply.
The two chasers followed as the raised higher and higher. At this point, they were higher up than the seekers.
"You bloody idiots get down!" Draco Malfoy sneered from several feet below as he searched around for the snitch.
Ophelia whipped around, knocking herself against Adrian Pucey and Graham Montague. She dove down and as she did so, Adrian came from her side and pushed her aggressively with his whole body.
Within seconds, many things happened. Harry and Draco were both diving for the snitch now and the crowd was going wild, so everything was chaotic.
From the push, Ophelia was knocked off her broom. The quaffle flew out from her hand as she fell down, gaining speed. Her firebolt was falling next to her, but much too far to reach.
The crowd was cheering loudly now. Somebody had caught the snitch; that didn't change the fact that Ophelia was falling from at least 70 feet in the air.
Harry had caught the snitch. He sat up slowly, rubbing his head with his free hand. He looked up and saw a blurry image falling from the sky, and then he realized.

"Ophelia!" He yelled. Everybody around him whipped their heads around to see Ophelia crash against the ground roughly.
Harry rushed over to her instantly, throwing the snitch closed and into his pocket. He collapsed next to her body and looked at her face.
In her hand, was her wand.
Harry put his head to her chest and listened carefully through all the yelling around them. He heard a heart beat. She had somehow managed to live from such a great fall.
"She's breathing!" He yelled as Hermione and Ron rushed over with Dumbledore.
Harry gripped Ophelias hand as she laid unconscious. His eyes were tearing up and his heart was hammering in his chest.
"Please be alright Ophelia." Harry whispered, his voice breaking. "I need you. Please."
Harry reluctantly let go of her hand as the teachers pulled her away. Is this what she had felt like when he passed out on his broom? Harry really hoped not.
Harry wished he would've noticed she was falling. She had saved him all those months ago and he hadn't even acknowledged she was falling.
Harry collapsed himself into Ron and Hermione arms as he shook uncontrollably.
"Harry she'll be alright." Hermione whispered, rubbing his back.
Ron stepped out of the hug and watched as Harry broke right in front of him. Neither Ron or Hermione knew Harry cared for Ophelia this much. Of course, they both cared for her lots, but Harry just seemed to have a connection with her.
"She'll be okay." Hermione reassured again. "She'll pull through. For you Harry."
~
Harry, Hermione and Ron had been sitting in the hospital wing for hours now. They knew they would have to leave soon, but they didn't want to leave Ophelias side.
"You know she'll be alright mate." Ron reassured Harry.
Harry was standing next to the bed and gripping Ophelias hand softly. He was staring down at her face, admiring each feature. From her freckles to her gorgeous lips. He hated to admit it, but he had fallen for Ophelia Granger.
"I know it's just," Harry began, before Hermione interrupted.
"It's just that you like her?" Hermione interrupted.
Harry rubbed his thumb gently against Ophelias. He knew she wasn't awake yet, but all he wanted was to see her beautiful eyes open.
Her arm was broken and her wrist had completely shattered. Whatever she had done with her wand saved her life, but she was still terribly injured. Her leg from her knee and down was bruised a dark purple and somehow not quite broken.
"I do." Harry said finally, breaking the silence. "Way too much."
He looked her injured body up and down slowly, looking at each potion. He knew she would be in so much pain when she woke up.
"I've seen the way she looks at you." Hermione said softly. "She just doesn't want to admit it."
Harry was blushing now.
"You think she really likes me?" Harry asked.
Ophelia shifted slightly and mumbled something. Harry, Hermione and Ron all looked at her.
"Ha," Ophelia mumbled. "Harry."
Hermione giggled and Ron's mouth dropped open in shock. Harry was blushing non stop as he squeezed her hand.
"I guess that answers your question." Hermione giggled. Ron scoffed and stood up.
The trio was forced to leave the hospital wing shortly after. Eventhough they wanted to stay, they made their way to their dorms. Hermione went to sleep thinking the sooner she wakes up the sooner she can see Ophelia. Ron slept soundly as usual and Harry didn't sleep much.
He was up thinking about Ophelia Granger. His bestfriend and crush, possibly, his soulmate.

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.

Shadow Falls
If you wanted to protect someone you loved, how far would you go, and what would you be willing to sacrifice? This question is at the core of this emotional rollercoaster of the book, Shadow Falls: the Rise and Fall of Erida VanIsle. This book emerged from four years of collaborative storytelling centering on the main character, Erida VanIsle, written by author Myra VanIsle. In this book, VanIsle goes beyond the events that led to Erida's sacrifice and explores forty-five years of the cost she paid to protect the sister she loved more than life itself. Shadow Falls explores the family tragedy which led to the separation of two sisters on completely different paths polar opposite of each other. While Erida set upon a path of darkness and power, Myra set out to be a beacon of light and hope bringing justice and peace to others. Be warned, the story VanIsle tells is dark and not easy, because you can't have the light without the dark.

Their directive, to bring life to this new world. Follow him, as he brings forth the knowledge his efforts awarded him, and pits it against his unprepared competitors, in a bid to be the first to create sentient life. This is my first full on story, and is mostly going to be a learning experience for me. It is going to be a story following the life of Arcius as a Dungeon God, with very few POV swaps, if any. If I make any errors, either in spelling or in grammer, please let me know, and I will endevour to correct them ASAP. I was inspired to create this story after reading the Scale Dungeon, by TheSilverGunner, here on RRL. It is a good story, despite having only a few chapter out at the time of writing this. I highly recommend that you read that story if you find this one interesting.
