Explaining everything was not as hard as I imagined. Father took my words well and reprimanded me a bit. I listened to him and apologised for my action.

I didn't think my action will be put us in danger. I didn't think further for the consequences of my action. I was to be blamed for that.

Soon as my father finished lecturing me, I searched for Hans. I wanted to know about those siblings' condition. Before I could reached the servants' quarters, I was stopped by a maid in the hallway. She informed me that the siblings were in the one of the guest rooms.

I asked her to lead me there and could see Hans standing in front of the room. I inquired about them.

"My Lady, the boy has been treated and suffered two broken ribs and left arm. But, the physician informed he will recovered fast since he still young." I let out a thankful sigh and thanked Hans for his work.

"Thank you Hans. But, how about the little girl? Is she with his brother?" I asked about the little girl as I could not see her anywhere near the room.

"She currently with Clarissa, My Lady. Clarissa cleaned her up and fed her as well. Do you want me to bring her to you, My Lady?"

"No, no need for that. Let the child rest. I bet she still in shock after all of that. I won't disturb her." I immediately rejected Hans' offer to meet the child.

The child must still be shaken for that terrible experience. There was not much I could do to comfort her.

I turned around and started walking towards my room. I sat on a couch and leaned my head on it. I thought about today event and frown formed on my face.

I did the right thing, isn't? Conscience took over me on that time. Saving the girl was the only thing on my mind back then.

Thinking about the girl, I still didn't know their names and background. But, I sure Hans will find out about them. Now, I should focus on present. Final exams were just around the corner and I need to study for it.

I dragged myself to a small room located in my bedroom. The small room is my study room. The room consists of a medium study table, a wooden chair and bookshelf. I sat on the chair and started to do my revision.

A week after the incident, I currently in a room with the siblings. According to Hans, they are sold by their parents to pay the family's debt. Someone bought them for human trafficking.

They managed to escape from that person and started to live at that alley which I found them last time. They survived by begging others for food and money.

The boy is named Bevin while the little girl is Elora. They currently 15 and 10 years old.

"Bevin, I want to offer you to be a knight in the House of Forest. If you agree, my father will be responsible for your training." I offered to him what my father agreed with me before.

"As for Elora, you can be one of the maids here. But, you need to undergo training to be one. This is all I can offer to you as I have a little words for it, the Duke has the major words on this. I am just following his order. And of course, if you do not like any of my offers, you are free to go. Do not feel burden and stay here for that. I will not hold you responsible for that."

Bevin and Elora looked at each other before Bevin cleared his throat. He looked at me and spoke.

"My Lady, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving both of us. We forever be indebted to you. I don't know if I'm still alive to this day if not for your help. I'm really grateful for that, My Lady." he thanked me with both of his hands were placed on his heart.

"Your offers, we're gladly to accept that, My Lady. Being here helped us escaped from the hell that trapped us for years. How can we reject your offers? Instead we really thankful because of your offers. I solemnly swear to you I will be a knight that can protect House of Langston and you, My Lady." Bevin and Elora eyes staring at me firmly as they wanted me to knew their feelings.

I nodded at his words and instructed Hans to start the preparation for them. Bevin will left this mansion to go training with the other knights while Elora will be supervised by our housekeeper, Madam Siena Hill.

Exam periods were over and I managed to secure the top 20 for my grades. I managed to place 15th at the final exams and I was satisfied with my result. All my hard work was being paid and I was happy for that.

The mansion at this moment was bustling with preparations. Housemaids could be seen running everywhere in the house. It will be New Year in two weeks and my engagement will be held one week after that.

So, the house was hectic with the preparations for New Year,my engagement and Christmas in the way. Three major day in the upcoming weeks.

My mother busied herself with the orders of new gowns, dress suits, decorations of the house and choices of food for the feast. I hardly saw her these days and it was the same with my father. They worked too hard.

I wanted to help my mother but she declined my offer and asked me to rest because I was too busy with the exams for the past months. She wanted me to rest well and I couldn't not argue her for that.

Emmy and Livia were occupied with the works as well. Mother assigned some for them to help her. Easton was busy with his sword training at the training ground and I was left alone this time around.

I was not disheartened as I was in the same state as them for the past months. I understand them and decided not to bother them anymore.

I was walking towards the library when I saw Clarissa running towards me. She stopped in front of me and caught her breath for a while. She informed me that someone was here for me. When I asked her the identity of the guest, I was left stupefied at my feet. Prince Noah was here for me.
