"Very strange rumors ..."
Rosemary decided to find out the source of these rumors, so she called William, the butler of the Marquis family.
She gave him the order to speak the truth, and was speechless when the butler confirmed the rumors she had heard.
"... So are you really sure that Antares has a relationship with Luna Pales, and he even left her to her father, our lawyer?"
"Yes. At least according to Ron, he was with Royer at the baron's house."
"Rona?
"This is a servant whom the Marquis assigned exclusively for Royer."
"Can you call him to me?"
"Yes, he's already here, I'll go down after him."
When the butler came down for him and beckoned him, Ron, who was waiting a little further, hurried to approach, Ron bowed respectfully, greeting him.
"Long time no see. How are you?"
"Good. How are you, William? "
However, William's expression was not particularly happy. Now the situation seemed uncomfortable to him, because he might have to betray his master.
Thus, the butler, who quickly grasped the essence of the matter, said.
"It seems you have to go back. I'll tell the marquis so you can work for him again. Of course, you will have to wait a bit ..."
"...!"
Ron was surprised to hear the unexpected offer.
When he was sent to work for a lawyer, it hurt his pride. Although he was not an important person, he preferred to work for the Marquis.
Hearing the possibility that he might return to the mansion. He spoke sincerely.
"I will tell you everything I saw."
After a little understanding of the situation, Ron and the butler went to Rosemary's room.
"Mrs. Rosemary. I brought Ron, the servant of Royer's lawyer. Looks like he saw everything that happened at the baron's mansion."
Rosemary dropped the book she was reading and asked about the most important topic that worried her.
"So is it true that my brother and Lady Pales have a relationship?" Or not? Is this all a lie, or is it true?"
"This is true."
"Do not joke so! Are you kidding right now? You guys just decided to play a trick on me?"
"No."
Hearing a confident answer to all her questions, Rosemary turned pale. She hoped to the end that these were all empty rumors.

"They even had a party about it."
"...What? What you said!? Party ...?"
She only heard the first part of the story, but she was already dizzy.
"Wait a minute. Maybe you got it all wrong? There were no threats, no strangulation of people or beatings ...?"
"No. They were pretty friendly with each other. It seemed to me that Antares was the initiator of their relationship."
"... Antares?"
Rosemary couldn't believe it was Antares.
"Yes, besides Luna, he seems to have made friends with her father as well."
"Oh my God..."
Rosemary pinched her cheek, trying to figure out if she was dreaming of all this. She felt pain. This was not a dream.
But even after that, she did not believe in what she heard, so, just in case, she pinched the butler behind her on the thigh. She realized that this was happening in reality, seeing the frowning butler.
"Is he nuts?"
"... "
Ron closed his mouth at the sudden comment.
Rosemary thought he was a little crazy anyway, but now it didn't fit into her head at all.
The butler, who was watching the conversation, quietly intervened.
"Do you want to go and study the mental state of Mr. Antares?"
"Ah ... I don't think there is a need for that ..."
Rosemary and the butler had never faced such a situation before, so they considered their next steps.
"So he really went crazy."
"No. He was quite friendly with those around him."
"Do you think it will be easy for me to deal with my brother?"
Have you ever worked as a predator tamer? Or maybe a monster hunter trying to tame Antares was like one of those professions.
Ron, who had been silently listening to Rosemary and William, suggested.
"Would you like to meet in person?"
"... What? I?"
Rosemary panicked a little. The rumors weren't good, but she was curious to see Antares's girlfriend.
"Yes, would you like to meet in public? No matter how crazy a person is, he will not hit people in public."
"What are you talking about. My brother publicly hit Fersen Rodrian on the head. So much so that he lost consciousness ..
When she thought about it again, she got goosebumps and her resolve swayed slightly. The butler also recalled this incident, but tried to ignore it and spoke.

"They say Lady Pales wants to buy the mansion. Why don't you help her with this and meet her at the same time?"
"Do you want me to help her with the mansion?" But how can I meet her?"
This did not mean that she personally had to ransack all the suitable mansions. It was a sensible question.
"Do not worry about it. Antares told Royer to help her buy a new mansion."
"... Good. Then let's get ready. Ask them to find time for tea. I will find them the best mansion they could only dream of."
"Good."
"Get the knights ready."
Of course, she had no intention of meeting them without security. She thought about the greatest possible protection.
"Okay, about twenty people will be enough?"
"..."
"Do you want thirty people?"
"..."
"Fourty...? Do you want to declare war on someone?"
Rosemary, considered and rolling her eyes at the butler's cold question, came to a suitable compromise.
"Then collect fifteen of the best warriors."
"If you're so worried, just don't date him."
The butler, who could not say these words out loud, sighed from Rosemary's room.
***
The very next day, thanks to Royer's swift action, a man suitable to work with her father visited the Baron. He was a man who had worked in the mine for over twenty years.
After changing his clothes and tidying himself up, he sat tensely, drinking the tea Laura had brought.
"Although this is a dilapidated mansion, the nobles are nobles."
He was nervous, because all his life he worked in the field, he was offered the post of secretary for the first time.
Between managerial and field positions, there was a wall of insurmountable proportions and a river of status.
"How can I overcome it?"
Shortly thereafter, Luna and the Baron entered the living room.
"I'm sorry to have kept you waiting."
Luna said embarrassedly.
"No. It didn't take long. My name is Thane. Very grateful."
Thane hastily got up from his chair and bowed in courtesy. Luna and Baron responded by introducing themselves, and they began interviewing.
"I heard that you worked in the mine for over twenty years, is that true?"
"I have worked for a total of twenty years. It's been about a year since I quit."
After that, the path to employment was closed. This was not due to a lack of ability or experience. Rather, because of his aching ankle.
Employers had little faith in its benefits for their enterprise. Even with his vast experience.
"I want you to go to the Palais estate with my father."
"No problem."
"I wonder how you are with your documents?
"I was responsible for all documents that were processed locally."
After asking three questions, Luna and Baron began talking to each other. Thane tensed slightly.
It had been less than five minutes since the interview began, so he was a little nervous waiting to hear the final answer.
"They are good people. If you can confidently answer all the questions, then you will definitely get this job. So be sure to come for an interview."
He soothed himself by remembering Royer's words. He trusted him, because he was a respected lawyer and knew his business.
He himself would never have gone to get a job as a secretary, having worked twenty years in the field. It was a pipe dream for him.
"Good. Can you start from today?"
"...Yes?"
Hearing an unexpected answer, Thane opened his eyes wide and stared at Luna as if he had heard.
Luna smiled brightly and said.
"Since you will have to be with my father for a long time, we should pay you 10 gold."
10 gold !? This was three times the salary he received at the mine. Even for the position of secretary, this was a lot. Many people have never dreamed of such a salary.
He thought just getting this job would be a miracle. When Thane couldn't answer, wondering if he had heard, the Baron tilted his head and said.
"It seems too few. This is my first time working with a secretary, so ..."
"No! It's a lot! No, I'm just wondering why you chose me, and even for such a salary ... asking just a few questions."
Luna smiled softly and explained.
"In fact, we got an explanation from Royer beforehand. He has enough experience and ability. We heard that you are a very good employee."
As a result, Thane's gaze turned to Royer, standing behind Luna. Smiling Royer winked at him soothing him.
"This is my first time working as a secretary, so I'm sure this is not enough, but I will do my best to help the Baron."
Thane got up from his chair and bowed deeply. He had a great desire not to disappoint Luna and the Baron, who provided him with such an unexpected opportunity.
Luna answered him with a smile and encouragement.
"Then go ahead!"
The Baron also smiled encouragingly at Thane, a good-natured smile.

The Simulacrum
"He who fights with harem tropes should see to it that he himself does not become a harem protagonist. And if you gaze for long into a narrative, the narrative gazes also into you." --- Friedrich Nietzsche (probably?) How would you react if one day you woke up inside an environment running on tropes and clichés? For allegedly average high-schooler Leonard Dunning, this question became quite relevant when one day he woke up in a pristine city on a strange island in the middle of the Atlantic, without any memories, surrounded by classmates who are barely more than characterless placeholders, and with a classic indecisive harem protagonist and his impossibly beautiful love interests for friends. That would be hard to deal with already, yet his investigation into the tropes governing the world, trying to avoid harem shenanigans, and his odd blend of outside-context knowledge, unique abilities, and a penchant for causing trouble wherever he goes ends up dragging him into the center of the action anyway. Disclaimer: This is a tongue-in-cheek, slice of life romantic comedy, with occasional sprinkles of combat and mystery to spice things up. Please do not expect a straight up deconstruction beyond some in-universe meta-commentary by the characters.
