"Your love is like a giant pigeon, crapping on my heart." - Phoebe Buffay (F.R.I.E.N.D.S)
((note: wolves from the same pack can mind-link each other wherever they may be))
"Congratulations to team 3! May the other teams and I know how you were victorious?" Alpha Lennon smiled in our direction.
Jordon was quick to respond, eager to tell everyone everything.
"We basically made Vivian the leader who divided us into two groups; sensors and defenders. Then Ron and Ashlee, mostly Ashlee, detected the shoe's scent and located it. Then Vivian decided it would be a good thing to dig our piece of leather to play as a bluff against the other teams so it would buy us time to run back to the training ground. That is how we won!" Jordon cheered. Ron patted his back and AlphaLennon gave our team an appreciative nod.
"Ashlee, may I know how you found the exact location of the shoe?" Alpha Lennon inquired.
"Why not, Alpha? So when I first sniffed the piece of leather, I obviously sensed a smell. Unlike others, I tried to take another good sniff of it. I recognised a human smell at first which was the strongest. But I knew it couldn't be a human since it was an 'item' we were looking for. So I sniffed it again from different sides and then I detected the scent of a shoe. When we were in the forest and had to choose a path between the two sides, most of my team members wanted to choose the other side which other teams also chose since the human scent was the strongest there. But I knew it was a distraction and I could also smell the scent of the shoe from the other path so I asked my team to trust me; which they did. And here we are!" Ashlee grinned.
Everyone was looking at her with mouths wide open; some in shock and some in admiration.
"I think I am in love....," somebody spoke from the other team and everybody started laughing. Ashlee blew that guy a flying kiss.
Wow, we have to give it to her. She is really smart.
"Good job, Ashlee! This is what I wanted to test.... was there anyone else who sensed the shoe?"
"Tyler found the spot where it was hidden," I spoke when I realized no one answered.
"Is it true?" Alpha Lennon faced his son, a proud look on his face.
He just simply nodded, a distraught look on his face.
Tyler was looking tense. Something was definitely wrong. He wasn't like this when he was with me.
"Good job, Tyler. You were slow at detecting but you did it nonetheless. Great job," Alpha Lennon acknowledged, "Alright, now I will just teach you some tips and tricks to enhance your skills, let's begin."
"Hey! Won't we get a prize?" Jordon protested whereas everyone laughed at his response.
Alpha Lennon snickered, "Your victory is your prize."
"Bo hoo. All this for nothing..." he mumbled under his breath.
The remaining Alphas left the training ground as soon as Alpha Carlos started teaching us the tips and tricks. The class ended after half an hour. I was walking back to my room when I was stopped by my dad.
He took me aside and we both sat down on a nearby bench.
"I thought you already left."
"No, the other Alphas and I were just discussing some other problems, nothing which should concern you. Anyway, shall we talk about your room issue and why you arrived late today and that too with Tyler?" he immediately skipped to the matter.

"Father, trust me when I say this, you should have no problem with the fact I am sharing a room with two unmated wolves who are soon to become Alphas of their respective packs," I started, "firstly, I have my own separate room to sleep in. Secondly, I have made it quite clear to both of them that they should stay in their boundaries. Lastly, you and I, as well as both of them, know that I can finish them off quicker than they can blink an eye. Plus point; they are dead scared of you," I grinned.
My father's lips turned into a smile. He relaxed a little before speaking, "I just want you to be safe. I swear if they do something wrong with you, I'll tear them apart."
"I know that and so do they. As for today's incident, I just slept through my alarm like I always do back home. I won't promise but I'll try that it won't happen again," I winked.
He laughed, "Mom told me to give you her love. Zack would be proud when he will find out that the team you lead won today."
"Oh shit, I totally forgot to talk to Zack! He will kill me! Give mom a huge hug and big kiss from me. Tell her that I miss her too! I'll try to mind-link her today as well." I hugged my father and got up.
Please, do not be mad. Please, do not be mad.
"Oh finally the Queen remembered she has a brother!" my brother's teasing voice spoke in the mind-link.
"Brother, you should feel lucky that I am even making time from my busy schedule to talk to you!"
He laughed at my response.
"How are you, anyways?"
"Alive and breathing, sister. How's Academy treating you?" he answered.
"It is great, my team won the first challenge today!" I proudly stated.
"So what? You know who won all the challenges back at my time? Yes, me!" he replied.
"Show-off," I rolled my eyes.
"Nevertheless, congratulations little one. I knew you had it in you."
I grinned, "Thank you."
"Did you see Ethan?" he spoke after a moment of hesitation.
"Yes, he is present."
"I swear, if I was there I would have torn him apart." his anger seeped in the mind-link.
"And his pack members would have torn you apart."
He snorted, "Yeah right."
"Don't be so confident. You're not that strong, Zack. I can still defeat you," I smirked to myself, thinking about the time I crushed him during our dad's sparring classes.
"Whatever, buttface. If he gives you any trouble, do tell me."
"Of course, will do. How's mother?"
"She is sleeping, like you. I swear you both can sleep through a whole war." he joked.
I laughed, "True.....alright I should head back now. I am hungry. Tell mom I'll mind-link her soon. Missing you all very much."
"Take care, kiddo."
I started walking back to my room, my stomach was making weird noises due to hunger. As I was walking, a familiar scent hit my nose. I cocked my head to the side to see Tyler punching trees. What is he up to?
I begin to jog towards him.
"What the hell are you doing?" I grabbed his fist which was now bloodied and bruised, "You out of your mind?! Your hands are bleeding!"
He pulled his hand from my grasp with so much strength that I stumbled backward.

"Do no touch me!" he growled.
I backed away in utter shock.
"Tyler, what happ-"
"When were you going to tell me?"
"Tell what??"
What is he on about? Seriously men have more mood swings than a female.
"THAT YOU ARE ETHAN'S MATE!"
I'm sure all the crows and birds flew away after listening to his outburst like they do in movies. The whole area was dead silent. Although, it felt as if everyone was looking at us.
"Who told you this?"
"That is not the question. The question was when were you going to tell me? When he killed me for being so close to his mate or if you were going to tell me at all?" he shouted, eyes burning with anger.
"Tyler, do not shout! You don't even know what you are talking about!" I shouted back.
"Get away from me, I don't want to talk to you," he turned around and again started punching the tree.
"Just tell me one thing and I will leave; who told you this?"
He kept on punching, not acknowledging my question at all. When he realised I wasn't going to leave, he stopped.
"Alpha Ethan told me this after we came back from the Wolf Senses task. You know what he did? He threatened me!" Tyler moved closer to me and grabbed my shoulders.
"He told me that if I even spent a minute of my time with you, his mate, he would tear me to pieces and throw it in places no one could ever find me. I told him that I didn't know that you were his mate but he just said he did not give two fucks about it," he closed his eyes and sighed, "just leave already."
Ethan called me......his mate?
That fucker.
I swear he is dead, I am going to murder that arrogant-cantankerous-domineering-pompous-son-of-a-bitch!
"Tyler, would you listen to only one side of the story? Would you rather I don't explain?"
"What is there left to explain?" He started walking away from me.
"Ethan is not my mate."
That stopped him. He slowly turned and faced me.
"What do you mean?"
Should I tell him? Would it be a bad idea or not? Oh, fuck it. He will find it out one day.
"We both rejected each other."
Tyler's face paled. His eyes widened and turned black. He stood there for a minute, two, three. Then, quickly rushed to my side and hugged me.
"I......a-am sorry."
I pushed him away slightly.
"I don't need your pity."
He scrunched his nose, "I am so sorry. I don't know what took over me.....I."
"It is alright. Just forget it."
At that moment, my stomach grumbled. The tension was gone and we both started laughing.
"Let's go and feed you, bluff."
A smile tugged across my face. I was happy he didn't question me about the rejection. I was in no mood to reminisce about that awful day. But I was sure in a mood to beat the shit out of a bastard Alpha.
---
"What the fuck?" both Tyler and I spoke together.
"Josh, where is my stuff?!"
"I don't know, I just came back myself!" he answered.
All my stuff was gone. There was nothing in the room, not even my sports bra which was lying on the sofa.
"Did you check my room?"
"You told us specifically not to go inside, so I didn't..um..." Josh hesitantly answered.
Despite the circumstances, a smile formed on my face. "You've earned my trust, Josh. You shall enter my room whenever but let me find my stuff first!"
"Hey, what about me?" Tyler protested.
I ignored him and went inside my room, Josh following me.
"Sucks to be you, Ty Ty," Josh teased.
My room was absolute bare. It looked as if nobody has touched anything. All my belongings were gone. The room was brand new to be used.
"Let's go and talk to the guy who works here," Tyler spoke from the door, trying to peek inside.
"The one who handed out the room sheets?"
"That one."
"Let's. But before, I want to eat something." I answered.
We all sat on the sofa and started munching on sandwiches Josh got from the Academy's cafeteria.
"We have a cafeteria?"
"Yes, and it is fully stocked. Everything is absolutely free."
"Well, now you know where to find me if I'm ever lost," I joked, munching on the sandwich.
After ten minutes, we were out the door and headed towards the office of the Academy caretaker, Lee.
"Oh, you must be here to collect your key." he started before we even introduced ourselves.
He got up from his seat and handed me a key.
"I'm s-sorry? What is this?" I questioned, puzzled.
The old man who looked quite fit for his age replied, "Your new room's key."
"And why am I getting a new room?"
"The Alpha demanded that you should get a separate room so that is what you are getting. He was quite livid with me for making you share a room with two unmated male wolves. But usually, all the male wolves who were Alpha blooded lived together in one room. It has been a very very very long time since we had an Alpha-blooded girl, therefore, I did not know what to do. So, I decided to keep the rule same. I thought you could handle it. But the Alpha was furious with me."
"This must be your dad," Josh spoke, "remember how angry he was when he met us at the bonding party?"
"Yeah, most probably..." Tyler agreed.
But it can't be. Father and I talked about it just now and he was okay with it. Then, why would he lie?
"Oh no, it was not Alpha Alejandro. No, not at all. He just recently told me he was okay with his daughter sharing the room with you both since he believes his daughter is very strong."
"Then, who?" Josh quickly questioned.
The caretaker and I answered together for Josh,
"Alpha Ethan."
"Ethan."
---
We were currently sitting in our room, not my new one, our old room. I decided to tell them the whole story of Ethan and I, from childhood to rejection.
"He used to look like an asshole, I didn't know he got a personality like one too," Josh started, "I want to go and tear him apart, piece by piece, starting with his big grey eyes which look right through your soul. Then I will pull out his thick, luscious black hair, strand by strand. Then, I will repeatedly stab him in different places and makes holes in his body so he can bleed to death!"
"Same," Tyler spoke.
"You need to get in line then," I replied.
"What are you going to do now?" Tyler asked.
To be honest, I had no idea what to do. Should I just accept my new room?
"No way. Show Ethan he can't control our life!" my wolf angrily answered my question.
"I will talk to him. My wolf and I don't want to accept the room."
"Or maybe you just want to stay with us...." Josh winked.
"Yeah... that too," I rolled my eyes.
"Let's forget about him for a while. You don't have to leave this room, we will bring back your stuff. So, do you guys want to go and check out the gaming area of the Academy?"
"We have a bloody gaming area?!" Tyler shrieked.
Josh nodded.
"Let's go then, why the hell did you not tell me before?" he got up, unable to control his excitement.
"Vivian you come too, there must be some girlish activities to keep you occupied." Josh offered.
I threw the nearest pillow to his face, "What do you mean by that, huh? 'Girlish activities'? I bet I can kick both your butt's at video games!"
"You play video games?" They both spoke together in utter shock.
"I don't just 'play', I win." I smirked.
"Y-you, s-she....um plays?!" Josh muttered looking back and forth towards Tyler and I.
I threw another pillow straight to his face, with more strength this time. "What rock are you living under, nincompoop?"
"Nin-whatpoop?" They both shot each other confused looks.
Rolling my eyes, I got up and walked towards the door. "You both coming or not?"
A smile formed on my face when I heard footsteps following me.
Prepare to be crushed, Tyler and Josh.
---
"Rematch! Rematch!" Josh cried out.
It has been two hours since we have been playing the video games. I defeated both of them in every single round.
"I swear she is cheating! There is no way Josh could be defeated even once by anyone and that too a girl!"
"Twice, little Alpha. My team beat your sorry ass in the morning," I smirked.
"Yeah, whatever."
Tyler and I laughed.
Josh wanted another match but I was growing tired now. However, deep down something else was itching me. I felt uneasy. As if something was calling me outside. I wanted to leave the gaming area right that instant.
"I am tired of defeating you guys! I am going outside to catch some fresh air and let my wolf out. See you guys later in our room!" I got up and headed outside.
"Ready for a run?" I asked my wolf.
"When am I not?"
After hiding behind a tree, I stripped my clothes and tied it to my ankle. Soon, I was standing on all fours, relishing how my hair felt against the wind. Slowly, I began to walk my way inside the forest. After walking for some minutes, I increased my pace and started running faster, leaping over logs, loving the feel of the ground under my paws.
I had no sense of direction now, my wolf just kept dashing, the forest a blur. Next thing I know, I crashed into something rock solid. My wolf quickly regained composure and looked at the thing which we hit. It was a wolf. And not any wolf. It was his wolf.
My wolf unconsciously purred at the sight in front of us. It was him, Ethan; standing tall and strong. He was gigantic compared to other wolves I've met in my life. His wolf was the most beautiful gray wolf I've ever laid eyes on. His dark eyes staring deep into they eyes of my wolf.
Then all of a sudden, he pounced on me.
