《The Alpha Academy》chapter 03

"Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend" - Martin Luther King, Jr.
As soon as we reached the West Pack House, Zack looked at me.
"Stay with me all the time."
I looked at him, confused. What is he going to do?
The event had ended a few hours ago, the whole place was astonishingly clean. There was no sign which could tell that an event took place here. Everything looked organised and in their right place.
"ETHAN! GET OUT RIGHT THIS INSTANT!" My eyes widened as I looked at my brother.
Is he out of his mind?! Challenging an Alpha? And that too when everyone was sleeping!
"What are you trying to do? Let's go from here!" I hissed, grabbing his arm and pulling it.
"Stay behind me!" He growled, his eyes completely black now. His wolf was taking over.
I instantly stepped back and hid behind his back. I couldn't anger him any further otherwise he would shift.
Please, Moon Goddess, let Ethan be out. Please anywhere, but here. I cannot face this. Pl-
I felt his presence before I saw him. His earthy and musky scent making my wolf and I wild from inside.
Why do I still feel the pull? Don't the bonds break when both of the mates reject each other? So why do I feel as if our bond is still the same?
"What are you doing here, outside my pack, without asking my permission to enter my territory, at this point of the night, with her, shouting for me, Zack Alejandro?" Ethan said through gritted teeth. He referred to me as if I was poisonous. As if my name was the last thing he would ever want to say.
I noticed he was wearing pyjamas which lay dangerously low on his hips and a white tank top which was....inside out? His black hair pointing up from every direction, a complete mess. He looked as if he just had......sex.

My wolf cried out in pain from inside. Now we both know as to why I had vomited. The thought of her mate with someone else further broke her heart.
"Why?" Zack hissed, stepping dangerously close to Ethan. I saw people coming out, gathering around the commotion. I couldn't look at their faces. I was too embarrassed. Furthermore, I knew Elliot would be there.
This is absolutely humiliating.
First I get rejected by my mate and now my brother is ready to announce it to the world?
"Why what?"
"Why did you reje-" I didn't let Zack complete the sentence. I growled. Louder than I thought I ever could.
All eyes were on me. They were surprised to hear such a ferocious growl from a she-wolf.
I couldn't bear the thought that my wolf will have to hear that word again. I didn't want to increase her pain.
"STOP IT, ZACK!" I used my Alpha tone, hoping it would somehow do some good and he would listen to me. I wasn't counting on it since he was an Alpha too and much stronger than me but he looked back, eyebrows raised.
"Don't you dare say another word, Zack," I warned. "If you dont leave with me right this instant, I swear I'll never come back." I continued, my body shaking now.
I could feel Ethan's powerful gaze on me. Hell, I felt everyone's gaze on me! My wolf felt it too. But I couldn't look in his eyes. Or in anyone else's! I felt ashamed. I felt angered. I felt revengeful.
Zack knew I was telling the truth about me leaving so he backed off and dashed out of the door. But not before glaring at Ethan and throwing a handful of profanities at him.
I finally gained courage and looked around. Half of the pack was standing there, including Ethan's parents and.....Elliot. To say they were shocked was an understatement.

I lowered my head, absolutely embarrassed.
"I apologize on behalf of my brother. Please, don't report this event to our Alpha. I have no idea what took over him. I am deeply ashamed. I hope you find it in your heart to forget what happened and forgive us," I directly spoke to Chris and Anna, my head still lowered.
"What is taking you so long!
I felt my brother's booming voice. I knew I had to leave now or Zack will come in any second and tear everything apart.
As I was about to head out, I gave one last glance to Ethan.
I narrowed my eyes at him and shook my head disapprovingly in his direction.
"Coward." I mouthed the nickname I used for him in high school.
Something flashed past his eyes. I didn't understand what, but I didn't care either. With that, I bolted out the door.
---
The next morning, I was completely exhausted. Last night's events kept me up for majority of the night.
Zack didn't approve of my behaviour at the West Pack House so he completely ignored me last night. I was glad since that meant less questions from him.
I groaned as I climbed out of the bed, not wanting to leave the warmth of my bed.
After five minutes of procrastinating, I started preparing for the day. I took a shower, brushed my teeth (yes, I brush before breakfast) and wore a white top with blue ripped jeans. I brushed my black hair and let them stay open so they could dry naturally.
Wearing my flip flops, I headed down to eat breakfast.
"She is alive!" Jonathan playfully said, earning a smile from me.
Everyone was already seated at the table. Alpha, Luna, Beta, Female Beta and my brother.
As soon as I saw my brother, last night's events flashed through my eyes. I was doing so good at ignoring them and now, back at square 1.
Thankfully, the atmosphere confirmed that my parents didnt know anything about last night's commotion. Yet.
I walked and sat next to the other side of Zack, beside my mother. Zack looked tired, he had sleeping bags under his eyes. He wasn't making eye contact with me either.
"Must you ignore me, brother? Please, I cant handle this."
I mind-linked my brother, hoping to earn a response from him. All I got was - nothing. Ignored.
My dad started talking to Jonathan about some routines when suddenly, he looked at me.
"I totally forgot!" he started, joy overtaking his face, "do you know what day it is?"
"Tenth of July....?" Jonathan deadpanned.
"No! In our calendar!" He mentioned, his excitement reaching new heights.
"When did we have a calender?" Jonathan answered and looked at Ella, her mate, confused just like everyone else.
I felt Zack tense beside me before he lowly growled.
"Vivian is not participating." He answered firmly.
My entire body shivered at the deadly tone of his voice.
"Participating in wh-" but before I could continue, I relaised what he meant. My breathing quickened, my hands started trembling so I hid them under the table.
", what else?" My father confirmed. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
He kept talking but I couldn't hear him anymore. My head was spinning. It felt as if somebody had tied my head with a thread and was swinging it round and around at full speed.
In the last one and a quarter of a day, I have realised something.
The Moon Goddess definitely has a grudge against me.

Now he must spend every waking and sleeping moment getting stronger to fight off the [Instance Dungeons] opening on both Vera, and Earth. Prepare for an RPG fiction full of magic, action, a touch of romance, and the author's own dry humor. When the modern technology of Earth meets the medieval magic of Vera, which culture will invade the other world first? When the army rangers of the United States collide with the members of the Hunter's Guild, who will win? Updates on Wednesdays/Thursdays Cover is my own creation. Tips to reading: This is my first book, so cliches and tropes are used as the base and then expanded upon. My intention is to make it a casual read but deep if you decide to look closer. I'm not a people person, so my focus and purpose for writing this is to explore the world building and magic system, not necessarily the characters. There won't be a villian until the postgame ;) Author's philosophy: I took an professional personality inventory (through a community college back in 2018) and was categorized as a "double-checker." I'm never satisfied with the work that I complete, and never want to share it with anyone. But this book is a challenge to myself! As a rule of thumb, I will only add to the story. I can't remove elements I've already included (unless absolutely, absolutely necessary). PS, I'm a native English speaker.
