《Is This Hell?》The Daughter of Death

When Elena woke up she did her best not to smile and give everything away. She knew she was laying on the ground outside of the witch house and that Stef and Esther was standing in front of her while Elijah, Nik, Finn, Kol and Rebekah where glaring at their mother and Stef.

She knew that Bonnie, Caroline, Damon, Enzo, Jeremy and Mason was hiding in the trees, waiting for their que. In her mind she reached out to Death "Everything ready?"

"It is." Elena could feel Death's amusement. "Have fun, dear daughter."

"You are an abomination, Niklaus! You and your siblings!" Esther sneered at her children. "Monsters like you don't deserve to live."

"And who are you to decide who lives and who dies?" Finn asked with an air of disgust.

"I made you and I can unmake you." Esther declared. "I am the only one who does have the right to decide."

Elena couldn't stop the laughter from slipping out anymore. "Hahaha... Oh my God... Sorry, sorry... that's just fucking hilarious."

"Why are you laughing?" Esther demanded to know.

"Because you are so fucking delusional." Elena got up, the ropes that had been tying her hands and feet rotted and fell off. "And you seem to be arrogant enough to think your more powerful than Mother Nature and Death."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Esther asked haughtily.

"If Mother Nature and Death didn't want vampires to exist then they wouldn't exist, simple as that." Elena shrugged and looked down on her bare feet.

"You're too late to do anything." Esther sneered, ignoring what Elena had said. "I've already bound my children together and when one dies so those the others."

"You don't just mean the rest of your children." Elena pointed out. "You mean 'the rest' as in the rest of the vampire race as a whole."

"They are a scourge on all humans!" Esther screamed.

"They are needed." Elena retorted calmly. "It's population control. Because without them? Humans would have overpopulated the world and destroyed it a long time ago."

Esther didn't say anything she just nodded at Stef who, before anyone could react, sped over and stabbed a white oak stake into Elijah's heart. Rebekah screamed, Kol rushed forward and broke Stef's neck in anger, Finn looked devastated and Nik was by Elijah's side with a hand on his shoulder.

Elijah looked down at the white oak stake protruding from his chest and then he raised his eyes to look at his mother. "Ouch, that stings."

"What?! How?!" Esther looked shocked and scared.

"Do you mean 'How come he isn't dead?' or 'How come my children aren't dying?'." Elena asked with a smirk. "Be more specific please."

"Darling, how come I'm not dead?" Elijah asked slowly as he pulled the stake out.

Everybody turned to a smiling Elena. "It's a combination between your immortality and mine."

"You're not immortal." Esther scoffed in disgust.

"I am Death's chosen daughter and I am the only truly immortal being here." Elena turned towards Esther, eyes black, skin pale and with shadowed smokey wings on her back. "I will be here when this universe ends and the next one begins. I will watch the rise of empires and I will watch as time runs out."

Everybody could feel the power emitting form Elena and some part of the vampires in attendance wanted to kneel. They knew that this being could end them without effort. A thought from her and they would be dust in the wind.

"Nik, could you be a dear and grab Stef for me?" Elena asked, her voice echoing in a strange but somehow pleasant way. "I want my baby brother back now."

That was the sign for everyone hiding in the tree line to come out. They surrounded Esther and Stef, who did his best to get out of Nik's hold but didn't succeed.

"You look really badass right now." Caroline commented as she smiled at Elena.

Elena looked down and saw that she wasn't wearing her ballgown anymore, instead she was wearing a black leather like dress that almost reminded Elena off Morticia Addams, the difference was that Elena was showing a lot more skin.

"If you kill me my children will hate you!" Esther declared, making everyone turn to her.

"Yeah... Not really." Kol spoke up.

"Kol is right." Finn said from beside Mason. "You tried to kill us or at least plotted to kill us. We won't miss you at all."

"You ruined our lives and when it didn't go the way you wanted you blamed us." Rebekah's voice was quiet but strong. "Take responsibility for your own wrongs and stop blaming others."

"I've already killed you once." Nik shrugged.

"You just had a white oak stake shoved into my chest." Elijah looked at Esther with disappointment.

"Even if you do kill me I will come back and finish what I started." Esther sneered again, but Elena could see fear in her eyes.

"Oh, I'm not just going to kill you." Elena gave a tinkling laugh. "I'm going to obliterate your soul."

"What about me?" Stef wanted to know.

"You are going to cease to exist and Stefan will be back." Elena shrugged uncaringly.

"I am a living being! I have thoughts and feelings! You can't just erase me from existence!" Stef screamed at her.

"I can and I am." Elena bent forward to look into Stef's eyes. "You took my little sisters' boyfriend, one of my best friends and used him as a condom. I don't give a flying monkey's shit about you Stef."

"She does remember that I'm older than her right?" Rebekah whispered to Kol who chuckled.

"Elena, it's time." Bonnie called out.

"Well then, let's get this show on the road." Elena smirked darkly.

With Nik's help Elena made Esther stand in a ritualistic circle. The circle was designed to give Bonnie enough power to get rid of Stef without hurting Stefan while also keeping Esther from getting away.

"Athair tha mi gad ghairm. Bheir mi anam a 'bhrath seo dhut a sgrios." Elena's voice echoed out around them. "Athair, le gaol, tha mi gad ghairm, gus cuideachadh le mo charaid fhaighinn air ais." (Father I summon thee. I give this betrayer's soul to you to destroy. Father, with love, I summon thee, to help get my friend back.)

Shadows started to gather outside the circle. It wasn't shadows as much as a bottomless black void that slowly shaped itself into a man. Elena smiled brightly and walked up to hug the man who smiled as he hugged her back.

"Hi dad." Elena greeted as she pulled back.

"Hello, my daughter." Death smiled at her before turning to look as Esther. "So... you're the one who thinks she's more powerful than me and Gaia."

"Gaia?" Esther looked confused.

"Mother Nature." Death raised an unimpressed eyebrow. "You really thought her name was 'Mother Nature'?"

Esther started to splutter and blubber, begging for him not to kill her, but Death ignored her.

"Dad, how is Gaia?" Elena asked a little worried.

"She's feeling okay so far." Death placed a hand on Elena's shoulder. "She has several thousand years left in her."

"Do tell her that she can come to me if she needs help." Elena requested. "She is my aunt now, after all."

"And she loves you already." Death told her before turning serious. "Niklaus and Elijah sons of Mikael, I wish to talk to you."

It wasn't a request, but an order, and Nik and Elijah walked forward to stand in front of Death. Death looked at them, judging and tallying in his mind, before he smirked.

"So, you are the two who think they're worthy of my daughter?" Death asked slowly ignoring Elena's groaned 'Dad'.

"No offence sir, but the only one who can decide who is worthy of Elena is Elena." Elijah spoke up respectfully.

"And she is also the only person who can tell us to leave her alone." Nik informed Death.

Death stood quietly for a while before a smile mixed smirk crawled on to his face. "I have one question for you both."

"Ask and we shall do our best to answer." Elijah inclined his head slightly.

"As you know by now is that my daughter is immortal, truly immortal, this means that when her mortal coil dies, her soul will move on and be placed in another reality to keep living." Death told them. "My question is this; Would either or both of you follow her to another reality to keep being with her?"

"Yes." Nik and Elijah answered strongly, not even having to think about it.

Death smiled before turning back to Esther. "Kol, son of Mikael, could you come here."

"Yes, my lord." Kol walked up to Death with a slight bow of his head.

"Did my daughter give you my proposal?" Death turned to him.

"She did." Kol nodded.

"And your answer?" Death wanted to know.

"It would be an honor." Kol gave a manic smile.

"Good." Death looked pleased. "Your initiation starts now."

"What do I need to do?" Kol asked with determination.

"You're going to sacrifice your mother." Death told him and held out a knife. "You will know what to say as you complete the sacrifice."

Kol took the knife and turned towards Esther. He discreetly looked around at everyone gathered and saw no judgement from any of them. That was something that had never happened before, he had gotten used to people judging him and disliking him because of his love of death and chaos, but not these people.

"You are going to do great." Jeremy whispered as he slid close to him and kissed his cheek.

"You can't do this Kol, I am your mother!" Esther screamed at him.

"You stopped being my mother the second you forced Nik's wolf side down and bound it." Kol declared and heard the sharp intake of breath from Nik.

"This will make you a kinslayer." Esther cried but everyone knew she was just crying because she wanted to live. "They are cursed."

"I disown you, you are no longer my kin." Kol approached her, twirling the knife in his hand.

"You can't!" Esther begged and ordered at the same time.

"Leis an ìobairt seo tha mi a 'gealltainn dhomh gu Bàs, an tagraidhean a dhèanamh agus na laghan aca a leantainn." Kol raised the knife as he spoke. "Coisichidh mi an t-slighe a threòraich iad mi, an t-slighe a tha aotrom agus dorcha. Mar sin tha mi a 'mionnachadh." (With this sacrifice I pledge myself to Death, to do their bidding and follow their laws. I shall walk the path they guide me on, the path that is both light and dark. So do I swear.)

As Kol shoved the knife into Esther's chest, Death spoke up, "Gabhaidh mi do ghealladh agus ainmich mi Àrd-shagart dhut." (I accept your pledge and name you High Priest.)

There was a crescendo of pressure and Elena and Death where the only ones not falling to their knees. Bonnie's chanting had been lost in Kol's pledge but Stef's scream could be heard echoing around them.

When everything was over the sun was peaking over the horizon. Damon was standing with his brother's unconscious body in his arms, looking grateful and scared all at once. Everybody who wasn't an Original just looked bone tired, everybody except Elena, who looked like a caffeinated chipmunk.

Death had disappeared as soon as he had accepted Kol's pledge and Esther was nothing more than a smudge of ash on the grass. Elena looked around happily as she bounced on the spot, this was her family and she would do anything and everything to protect them.

"Come on, Jere, let's get you home." Kol picked Jeremy up and sped off, making Elena laugh as she had caught the pleased and shocked look on her brother's face before he was gone.

Caroline walked over and hugged Elena before telling her that her, Bonnie and Rebekah were going to her place and have a sleep over.

"Have fun!" Elena called after them. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do!"

"That leaves a lot to choose from!" Bonnie laughed before squealing as Rebekah picked her up and ran off.

"I'll go with Damon and Enzo to make sure Stefan is back to himself when he wakes up." Elijah smiled as he kissed Elena gently before he followed Damon and Enzo.

"And then there were four." Elena smiled.

"Not for long, kjære." Finn spoke up. "I'm taking Mason to the grill so he can eat something, he's looking a little peckish." (Dear one.)

"And then there were two." Nik hummed as Finn disappeared with Mason.

"That's not so bad." Elena smiled up at him, before turning nervous.

"What's wrong?" Nik asked quickly.

"I want you, but I'm a little nervous." Elena admitted.

"Are you certain you want this... with me?" Nik looked shocked and humbled.

"Yes." Elena nodded. "I already talked about it with Elijah and I want you to be my first."

Elena didn't know if the original Elena had been a virgin, but she assumed she was. And while Elena, as Alex, had had sex, this was something completely new to her, sex with someone she cared about and that cared about her in return.

"I love you." Nik murmured before kissing her and then whisking her off towards the Mikaelson mansion.

XOXOXOX

Elena woke up with a pleasant soreness in her body. She was laying with her head on Nik's chest and her legs intertwined with his and she couldn't help but smile at the memory of the night before.

You wouldn't think it by looking at him or even meeting him but Nik was a very sweet and attentive lover, always asking her if she was okay, if she liked what he was doing, if she wanted him to do something differently.

She had no idea how many times he had made her come, they all blurred together in a pleasant haze of passion, lust, pleasure and intimacy.

Elena cuddled closer to Nik with a smile. She could feel him in her mind, feel that he was on the verge of waking up. It was an interesting feeling but not a bad one. It was like something she hadn't know she was missing until she had it.

"Good morning, kitten." Nik murmured and kissed her head.

"Morning Nik." Elena hummed back happily, as she leaned up to look at him.

"I can feel you in my head." Nik mumbled out with wonder.

"And I can feel you in mine." Elena smiled and sat up, not feeling embarrassed about her nakedness at all.

Nik grabbed her by the hips and lifted her until she was straddling him and with a smile mixed smirk he lowered her onto his hard cock, making her moan in pleasure. She had no idea sex could feel this... fulfilling?

As Alex she thought sex had been a 'meh' experience. Sure, the orgasms were nice but she could never really understand the hype about sex. Now, after having slept with Nik, she understood those that raved about it.

"Nik..." Elena whined as she swirled her hips.

"God, you are so beautiful." Nik sighed as he looked at her with reverent eyes.

Elena looked down at him as she felt him trace the tattoos between her breasts. He had traced them with his tongue yesterday as Elena told him about them.

"Please..." Elena whined in pleasure as she felt herself getting closer to her peak.

"That's it, love." Nik half moaned, half growled as he rubbed at her clit with his thumb and then sank his teeth into her neck.

"Nik!" Elena screamed as she tipped over and into body shaking pleasure.

Half an hour later, Elena walked into the kitchen with a yawn, ignoring a smirking Kol as she made her way to the fridge and pulled out some juice.

"Someone seems so have had a good morning." Kol's smirk grew.

"Definitely." Elena smirked back from behind her juice glass. "Nik has a very, very, talented tongue."

Kol's smirk quickly changed into a grimace of disgust. "I did not need to know that."

"Then you shouldn't have tried to embarrass me, huh?" Elena raised an eyebrow.

"Something you should know is that if there is one thing Elena isn't embarrassed to talk about it is sex." Jeremy laughed as he walked into the kitchen.

"Sex is one of the most natural things in the whole world, why shouldn't we talk about it?" Elena looked confused. "Why do people act like the subject of sex and kink is a taboo subject?"

"That is actually a very good question." Elijah agreed and walked over to kiss Elena softly.

"So how kinky are you, kitten?" Nik was suddenly standing leaning against the kitchen counter.

"I don't know. I mean, you were my first so..." Elena shrugged. "But I think that I would be up to trying most things at least once before I say either yes or no to it."

"So if I wanted to tie you up?" Nik smirked devilishly at her with heat in his eyes.

"Sure, that could be fun." Elena nodded before she smirked back. "But turn about is fair play, my love, and you would look so very pretty in shibari."

"What is shibari?" Finn asked as he walked in with Mason by his side.

"Shibari is a Japanese style of bondage, it's known as a kink but it's more than that. It's a kind of art, while tying the rope around someone's body you're making different patterns and connecting with that person. The positions you have to be in while being tied aren't usually comfortable but it's more about the journey than about the destination." Elena explained patiently with a kind smile.

"Sounds interesting." Finn hummed as he looked at Mason, running his eye up and down the hybrids body.

"Anyway, not that watching Finn flirting with Mason isn't fun, how are you all feeling?" Elena asked, smirking when she saw Mason blush.

"I'm great." Nik smirked and Elena couldn't help but laugh.

"I'm feeling okay." Elijah interlaced his fingers with hers. "That woman from yesterday wasn't out mother, hadn't been our mother since we were human."

"Lijah is right." Finn agreed. "And I'm feeling fine."

"I'm feeling amazing!" Kol burst out almost bouncing in his seat. "I can feel people's lifeforce and I instinctually know when someone is about to die."

"Do you know how they'll die? And can you see when a person is going to die no matter when it is?" Mason asked intrigued.

"No, not yet at least." Kol looked disappointed before perking up. "But I might get that ability in the future."

"Jeremy?" Elena asked when no one else spoke up.

"Huh?" Jeremy looked up. "Oh, I'm fine."

Elena studied him before she started smirking. "Where you catching again?"

"Lena!" Jeremy blushed and shifted a little in his chair.

"I don't get it." Kol looked between his blushing boyfriend and Elena.

"Well, when two boys really like each other..." Elena began before being interrupted by Elijah kissing her, when he pulled back again she looked at him a little dazed. "Huh?"

"Jeremy asked be to make you stop and that he would owe me one if I did." Elijah smirked before kissing her again.

XOXOXOX

"Where am I?" Elena asked as she looked around.

"Firehouse 51 in Chicago." Death answered as he stepped up beside her.

"Cool." Elena smiled then she shuddered as blond man walked straight through her. "What the actual fuck!"

"Did I forget to mention that we are in an alternate universe?" Death chuckled.
