《Our Eternity : Emmett Cullen x Reader》J. Jenks

That night Emmett and I took Emalie home. I put her in her new bed, seeing as she was the size of a near six year old now. Her crib was gone, replaced with a large twin sized bed. I laid her down and climbed in next to her, opening up the Shakespeare book we'd started and I read to her. Slowly her eyes closed.
"There's sweet music here that softer falls than petals from blown roses on the grass. Or night dews on still waters between walls of shadowy granite in a gleaming pass. Music that brings sweet sleep down from the blissful skies." I finished the reading and looked down seeing her asleep.
I smiled and tucked her hair behind her ear, picked up the book and turned her light off climbing off the bed.
"Mom?" She said as I tried to leave her bed. I hummed back to her in response. "Did Aunt Alice and Uncle Jasper run away because we're gonna die?" She asked looking up to me with a worried face. Tears threatening to spill. It broke my heart. We had tried so hard to keep her at a safe distance from the adult information, but she's much to smart for her own good.
"No, baby. I-I think they left to keep us safer. That's what all these other people are here for, too. I will never let anyone hurt you." I leaned forward and kissed her forehead as she smiled at me. I pulled her close and cuddled her shushing her back to sleep.
When she was fully out, I snuck from her bed and made my way into the living room. When Alice left I had smelled her scent in my home. I followed the very faint lingering scent to the bookshelf and I searched for the book I knew she had taken the page from. Emmett walked into the room and I stopped what I was doing. I walked to the couch and sat down, him following and coming over next to me.
"You know, after today. It's strange I feel like I could demolish a tank. Mentally? I feel drained." I sighed and leaned into his arms.
He stroked his fingers up and down my arm and moved my hair from my face.
"How about a relaxing bath?" Emmett said and began kissing my body and slowly tried to unbutton my shirt. I think our versions of a relaxing bath at this minute were very different. I chuckled.
"I do know how to undress myself you know."
"Yeah, but I just do it so much better." He chuckled and pecked my lips. "You know." He sat back and looked at me seriously. "You really did amazing today. You surprise me more and more everyday, and I've never thanked you for giving me something to fight for. Our family."
He pressed his lips to mine and we kissed for a minute before he pulled away to go start the water.
I quickly got up and walked to the book shelf finding the Merchant of Venice and pulling it out.

Destroy this. The book said. J. Jenk's, Seattle.
Alice made sure only I would get the message since my mind was safe from Aro. I tossed the book in the fire just as Emmett walked back into the room. Luckily he hadn't noticed. I walked to him so we could enjoy our bath.
The next day, I gave Bella a knowing look and she tilted her head at me. I told her we were going to drop Jacob and Emalie off at Dad's and I needed her to come with me.
"I'm honestly surprised, you took a break from Jedi training." Jacob said sitting the the passenger seat of my own Jeep that Emmett insisted on getting for me.
"Well, Dad's been wanting to see Emalie, and I knew if we didn't go soon he'd come to the house. And he can't do that." I explained. "28 Vampires, one human. Not so great." I whispered.
"I know that's what you told Emmett..." Jacob looked between Bella and I. "I know you, (Y/n)." He said softly. I didn't answer only watched the road as I drove. Jacob huffed slightly and crossed his arms. "Whatever. I'm just glad to be away from all those reeking bloodsuckers." He caught himself at the last second, Bella and I both glaring at him. Emalie in the back seat frowned. "I'm sorry. I know. They're the good guys. But come on, Dracula one and two are... creepy." Jacob's eyes widened with a smile and we all began to laugh.
I pulled up to Dad's house and stopped the car. Emalie quickly unbuckled herself as she saw Dad and Sue jogging down the stairs with big happy smiles to greet us. She jumped out of the car and ran to him jumping into his arms.
"There she is! Come here." He told her happily. He spun her around and placed her back on the ground. "Wow! Look at you. You've grown half a foot." Dad said as Bella, climbed out the back, Jacob got out of the passenger seat and I climbed out of the drivers seat. "Seriously. Like six inches." He looked to Sue, and then back at me and I simply smiled at him.
"Come on inside, lunch is on the table." Sue told us happily.
"We got a tree to decorate, huh?" Dad said looking at Emalie.
"I've actually got a few errands to run, Bella's gonna help me." I called out to them. Jacob looked at me curiously.
"Behind on your Christmas shopping, (Y/n/n)? You only have a few days, you know?" Dad commented with a chuckle.
"Uh, yeah. Christmas shopping." I agreed with a nod. He bent down to Emalie's height.
"Don't worry kiddo, Grandpa's got you covered in case your mom drops the ball." The two giggled together and I shook my head.
"Okay, Bye Dad." I called out and swiftly jumped back into my vehicle.
As we drove along toward's town. Bella finally spoke.

"Okay, why are you being all secretive. Please tell me we aren't actually going Christmas shopping." She groaned.
"Well, it wouldn't hurt if we do find something... But that's not what this trip is about. Alice ripped her note from one of my book's. I found it last night and it had instructions in it specifically for me. I'm telling you because our mind's are the only safe place for it. I destroyed her note and followed the instructions which led to this appointment today. It's someone name J. Jenks and there's an order I have to pick up, made by Jasper."
Bella's eyes widened and we drove to the restaurant.
"You staying in the car?" I asked her.
"Yeah, I don't think it takes two people to pick up an order." She chuckled and I nodded.
I walked inside and met the hostess telling her who I was meeting. She brought me over to a table where a dark man was sitting in a nice suit, patiently waiting for me.
"Mrs. Cullen." He smiled at me and shook my hand.
"Hi."
"I'm so happy you called." He said gesturing to the open seat across from his own. I went to sit down and he pushed in the chair for me like any gentleman would. "I always meet my private clients here." Mr. Jenk's said quietly taking his seat. "It's more comfortable than the office."
"And it's more public." I noted with a soft smile.
"Ah." He chuckled.
"So, what type of work do you do, J.?" I asked seriously.
"Oh, you know, this and that." He said bashfully. "It's always different, which keeps it interesting."
I nodded in agreement.
"Have you known Alice and Jasper long?"
"I've been working with them for more than twenty years. And my late partner knew Jasper fifteen years before that." He explained with a raised eyebrow. "He is, uh, unusually well preserved."
I kept my face neutral to hide my surprise that he obviously had some sort of weird idea about what we were.
"Yes, he is." I say simply.
"I trust that Mr. Jasper is enjoying his vacation."
"He didn't tell you where he was going, did he?" I asked curiously.
"No, no, no, just mentioned that he was leaving when he came by to place his order."
"I assume his order is ready?"
"Of course. I've never been late with a delivery." He said quietly and slid a yellow envelope over to me which I grabbed and checked out the contents. I was certainly surprised to see a birth certificate for Emalie and only two passports. One for Jacob and one for Emalie. Both read Jacob Wolfe and Emalie Wolfe. Along with a driver's license for Jacob. My face obviously showed the surprise.
"Is there a problem?" He asked.
"No." I said quickly. "My husband and I thought that we'd all be traveling together."
"Jasper said only two were traveling." He sounded very serious. "His instructions were very clear."
"I understand, it was my mistake." I nodded. I tucked the new documents into the envelope once again. "Apparently that's not going to happen." I said more to myself than to Mr. Jenks.
I left the restaurant with a slight huff and climbed into my car showing Bella the documents. I was taken aback by the sudden realization of Alice's vision. It was clear, Emalie would have a future. But, Emmett and I wouldn't get to be apart of it. Bella's face dawned of realization and she reached over hugging me. I would have cried if I could have.
We drove back to Charlie's and on the way I spotted a golden locket very similar to my silver locket that I never took off, in an antique window. I bought it for her and it was the perfect gift. It even had the words inscribed on the back of it in French that meant, more than my own life. Which was truly fitting. I planned on putting a picture of the three of us in it for her and a picture of Emalie, me and Bella.
We got to Dad's and I picked them up driving back home to the Cullen household. When we got there Emalie ran into the living room jumping into her Dad's arms and began spouting off everything fun she did today. He watched her so lovingly and listened intently to everything she said. He was the best possible Dad in the entire universe. I leaned against the doorway with crossed arms and a soft smile coming along my face. Emmett and Emalie started to laugh about something and Emmett caught my gaze smiling back to me.
I sped back to our house and went into our closet grabbing a duffle bag, packing clothing and anything else they'd need. Including money from our large saved stack of it. I sat down at my desk and decided to write Emalie a note.
My Dearest Emalie, I thought we would have forever together. But forever isn't as long as I'd hoped. I know now why Alice left me clues. It was to keep you safe. Everything you and Jacob will need is in this pack. Jacob will protect you. And he'll help you learn about the Ticuna Legends. Never forget my sweetest little love. Mommy and Daddy love you for all eternity.
I looked up from my pack to see Alistair in my house gazing at the bag I was packing along with the notes in my hand.
"It's a romantic notion, isn't it? That a righteous few can defy a great evil. I must admit, you even had me believing, for a moment." He said slowly nodding his head to the bag. He chuckled and turned to exit. "Well, good luck. You're going to need it."

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
