《Our Eternity : Emmett Cullen x Reader》Gathering Witness's

That night, Emmett and I, took Emalie home and we spent as much time with her as possible till she was ready for sleep, putting her to bed. We spent all night discussing the plans that would begin the very next morning and what was to come. Both of our fears and how we were in this absolutely together until the very end, always. We discussed Emalie's future and how we should handle these visits with the utmost care. We couldn't put her in anymore of harm's way then she already was.
We got ready to go the next day. Jacob, Emalie, myself and Emmett were to travel together. As we got ready Jacob noticed Sam outside in the forest. We all walked out to him.
"Alice asked me to give you that. She and Jasper crossed our lands to the ocean last night." Sam said giving the note to Carlisle.
"Carlisle?" Esme looked at her husband with a worried expression.
"They left us." Carlisle said quietly.
"Why?" Rosalie wondered.
"She didn't say." He looked sadly down at the note in his hands.
"Can I see that?" I stepped forward and held out my hand. Carlisle handed me the note.
"Gather as many witness's as you can before the snow sticks to the ground. That's when they'll come." I flipped the paper over and noticed it was written on a torn out book page, from a Shakespeare book in my home.
Alice's instructions were clear. But the question remained. Why would she and Jasper leave at the moment we needed them the most? A month's time was all we had to get our affairs in order. What did they know? Our search for witnesses began with a trip north to our closest relatives. We climbed into the Jeep and drove off. When we pulled into their driveway hours later they all sped outside to greet us curiously.
"Stay here." Emmett said and he climbed out of the car first.
"Emmett? Is everything alright?" Tanya asked him. "Why didn't you tell us you were coming?"
"Is it Irina?" Carmen asked. Emmett continued walking towards them. "Have you heard from her?"
"Not directly." Emmett grunted. Noticeably upset at the mention of the woman who'd sentenced our entire family to death.
"Why is your bride waiting in the car?" Eleazar noticed.
"And why have you brought a wolf with you? I can smell him from here." Kate noted with a scrunched look.
"My family is in danger and I need your help." He explained.
"What's happened?" Carmen gasped.
"It's hard to explain... But I need you to be open minded. Can you do that?" Emmett begged.
"Of course." Tanya stepped forward. Emmett turned and looked at me. I turned back and looked at my daughter in the back seat.
"Okay. Time to meet some new people." I smiled softly at her.
"What if they don't like me?" Emalie asked scrunching up her little nose.
"They'll love you." Jacob smiled at her.
"He's right. They will, baby. Once they understand you."

"They just haven't met anyone like you before." Jake explained. I looked back at him grateful to have him here.
Jacob and I climbed out of the car. I took a deep breath trying to calm myself. Emalie climbed out of her car seat and crossed the car to Jacob's door way and climbed out. We closed the doors and each took one of her hands. She hid behind me slightly as we walked. The Denali family jumped back in surprise and gasped. We immediately stopped walking.
"The Volturi will come for us all." Kate hissed.
"You get that thing out of here." Tanya growled looking directly at my daughter. I growled, a low snarl in my throat as a warning.
"She's not what she looks like." Emmett quickly intervened.
"This is a crime!" Tanya yelled. She lunged forward for Emmett, who quickly deflected her advance, pushing her into the snowy ground with a thud.
Kate stepped forward and grabbed Emmett's hand as he tried to do the same maneuver with her. She sent her electrical shock gift through his body. I stepped away from Emalie and Jacob shielded her from seeing her daddy getting hurt. I walked forward towards them ready to defend my husband. I sped over and put my hand on her arm shoving her off. She tried to grab me with her other hand and shock me but I felt nothing. I easily threw her across the yard.
Both women got up and charged forward again but I stood protectively in front of Emmett and snarled.
"Stay back!"
"She has blood in her veins." Emmett said quickly recovering from the pain. "You can feel her warmth."
"I can feel it." Carmen said stepping towards us. My stern expression softened looking to her. I knew, I liked her.
"I'm her biological father." Emmett announced. "(Y/n)'s her mother."
"Impossible." Kate shook her head in denial.
"It's really true. She was born while I was still human." I explained.
"I've never heard of such a thing..." Eleazar said cautiously.
"She can show you, if you let her." Emmett said softly. We turned to look at Jacob and Emalie. He picked her up in his arms and carried her over towards us. "Tanya you owe us this much. We are all under a death sentence because your sister didn't let us explain."
They all looked at each other with worried eyes. Jacob walked over an stood between me and Emmett. He brought her forward slightly and Emalie reached out her hand towards Tanya's face. She took a small step backwards weary of what was happening.
"Don't be afraid." I assured her. "This is how she communicates sometimes. It's her gift." I stepped slightly closer to Jacob and my daughter.
Emalie's hand finally laid on her cheek and her eyes widened. She looked amazed up at my daughter and a smiled crossed her face.
"It's true." She whispered looking back to her family. "She's not immortal."
Carmen immediately stepped forward with a smiled and Emalie touched her face next getting the same experience. One by one Emalie showed them and they all became enchanted by her as well.

"What is her name?" Carmen asked.
"It's Emalie." I told her.
"Beautiful, just like you my dear." She looked at Emalie, making her smile.
After a while of explaining the rest of the situation to them, they came back home with us. I knew the rest of our family would face this fear as well as the Denali's had. Fear of the unknown. Fear of the Volturi.
When we made it home, we were soon joined by Amun, his wife, Benjamin, and his girlfriend. Benjamin was a true site to behold. He had the gift to control the elements. He was very intrigued right away by Emalie and the two became good friends. He made a tiny twister of sand in her hand and we all marveled at it together.
"Benjamin can influence the Element's." Edward explained to Bella.
"And here I just get super self control." She laughed.
We heard a running sound coming from the trees and soon two women from the Amazon showed.
"Who are they?" I asked taking Emmett's hand.
"Senna and Zafrina. From the Amazon." Emmett explained.
I reached out for Emalie's hand and we walked closer to them allowing her to do the same thing once again. Showing them everything.
The arrival of Senna and Zafrina meant that our plea was being heard in even the utmost corners of the world, while others searched for witnesses closer to home. A patriot Carlisle first met on the battlefield at Yorktown would become our most unlikely ally. Garrett.
Each person was won over by Emalie's gift and natural charm. Each was made to see. Carlisle had convinced his Irish friends to make the trip to Forks. Although we were grateful for their help, their thirst for human blood complicated the situation. The nomads Rosalie and Henry sent to get were even more unpredictable. Especially Peter, who'd fought along side Jasper as a newborn.
"There's a lot of red eyes around here." Jacob whispered to me as we leaned against one of the wall's. Emalie was showing Garrett her gift.
"They agreed not to hunt in the area." I told him.
"But they'll feed somewhere." Jake said with a hint of disgust in his voice.
As more vampires set foot in their territory, more Quileutes turned. Their nature compelling them to join the pack. Jacob was off a lot more often then he wanted to be, finding and helping the young kids that were turning. Finally Carlisle and Esme returned with our last witness.
"How may came?" Carlisle asked as they got out of the car. Emmett and I had walked outside to greet the newcomer.
"Eighteen." Emmett smiled. "You have some good friends."
"And Alice?" Esme asked with a sad expression. I shook my head at her just as equally sad seeing that one of my best friends had gone missing on us. Esme hugged me tightly with a frown on her face.
"We'll all be on Aro's list now. Centuries on the run. That's what you've brought me. Some friend Carlisle." Alastair said not getting very close after climbing out of the vehicle.
"Alastair, come meet everyone." Carlisle chuckled and waved him over.
"I already told you, if it comes down to a fight, I won't stand against the Volturi."
"It won't come to a fight." He assured him only to earn an eye roll.
"I'll be in the attic." Alastair jumped off the ground, to the roof of the house and disappeared.
"He's not a people person." Esme shook her head.
We opened our home to eighteen vampires. Many with gifts of their own. We all stood outside one day viewing what everyone could do. Zafrina had power over the mind. She could make anyone see what she wanted them to see.
I held Emmett's hand and braced for whatever was to come. Though I could see it in his eyes he was experiencing something. I saw nothing. I looked over to Bella and it appeared she was having the same issue.
"If you weren't holding my hand right now, I could swear this was real." Emmett said looking around himself in awe. I looked around some more, only with a furrowed expression.
"I don't see anything." I huffed.
"Me either." Bella nodded.
"Emmett, Edward you didn't tell me your wives were shields." Eleazar said walking up to us. He had a gift to be able to detect gifts in mortals and immortal beings. "That must be why I couldn't sense it properly, their blocking me now as we speak. Though..." He turned towards me. "You have something else. Carlisle had called a while back and I'd almost forgotten. Compulsion correct?" I nodded curiously.
"But what's a shield?" I asked. Bella and Edward came and stood next to us.
"The one's i've met are so different." Edward shook his head.
"It's a defensive talent." Eleazar explained. "Your compulsion is also defensive and offensive. You can do both, prevent attacks, and attack."
"So that's why I couldn't read either of your mind's before. Why Aro couldn't." Edward said.
"You have very powerful gifts. Specially your's (Y/n)." Eleazar smiled.
"What do you mean Eleazar?" I asked stepping toward him.
"Well, just like you will yourself, you should be able to project that onto others." He explained slightly.
Kate came up and grabbed both our hands and began trying to shock us. Bella and I turned towards her confused.
"They're definitely shields. That should have put them on their asses." Kate smirked.
"Or your voltage has been exaggerated." Garrett stepped forward.
"Maybe it only works on the weak." She wiggled her fingers in the air towards him with a taunting look. He reached forward towards her curiously.
"Garrett, I wouldn't." Carlisle smirked warning him.
Garrett reached Kate's hand and poked it with one finger. A shockwave sent him hurtling to the forest floor groaning.
"You are an amazing woman." Garrett said in awe of her. Kate smiled back.
