《Our Eternity : Emmett Cullen x Reader》The Mountain

"Knock, knock..." Bella whispered against the doorway. She slowly pushed the door open to see Emmett cuddled up on the bed with me asleep.
"How'd it go?" She whispered. Emmett lifted up my hand that had the ring on and he smiled brightly at her. Bella squealed happily. "Is it okay for me to wake her?" Bella chuckled. "I hope you guys didn't have to late of a night last night." She winked at him. Emmett tried hard to stifle his laughter.
"No. I mean, we did stay up talking, Bella, but that's it and I'm sure she'd be happy to have you wake her. She was hoping to talk to you as soon as we got home."
"Okay... you may want to move." Bella chuckled. Emmett slowly unwrapped my tangled body from his and climbed off the bed. Bella ran and jumped up on top of me.
"Oof! Ugh, Bella..." I groaned.
"Good morning, my gorgeous sister! Tell me, tell me how it went!" Bella screamed in my ear, jumping up and down on me.
I simply held up my hand and the biggest grin came across my face. Both of us squealed and hugged while bouncing up and down on our knees on the bed. Bella stopped and grinned herself showing me her ring and we started up again. Emmett walked out of the room and met Edward in the hall.
"Apparently there's a squealing fest in my bedroom. If you were wondering where your fiancé is, just follow the squeal's." Emmett laughed as he walked by Edward.
"I had a feeling." Edward chuckled and entered the room. "Alright you two. You have all day and night to talk about this. We've got to get going."
"All right, we're going." Bella told him.
We got ready for our trek up the mountain. Wearing hat's, gloves, and layers of clothing. Bella and I had to walk through the woods to lead a trail of our scent right to the field. We also thought it would be best to poke our fingers and leave small blood trails on trees, leaves, and anything else we possibly could.
"What are you doing?" Emmett chuckled as I exited the forest back into the clearing.
"Hey, if this is all we can contribute, we wanted to be thorough." I smiled at him.
"Those newborns will be frantic." Emmett lightly grabbed my hand and inspected my bleeding finger.
"It's fine. Don't make yourself uncomfortable." I tried to pull away but he held my wrist a little tighter and chuckled.
"It doesn't bother me anymore. After the first incident, and then when I thought you were dead for about 12 hours... Sort of fixed that... Hey, your not wearing your ring." He told me softly.
"I really didn't want to lose it..."
"You sure it's not because you didn't want to risk Jacob seeing it?" Emmett smirked at me and lightly stroked my cheek.
"I'm sorry... I just think we should wait to tell him... At least until after the fight. I want him to have a clear head." I explained.
"Okay." He whispered with a smile and kissed my forehead.
"Who's head is unclear?" Jacob came walking up at that moment. Both of us turned to look at him. Embry walked up behind him.
"Nobody's I hope." I said quickly. He looked at me a little strange.
"Alice said there's a storm coming." Edward said and he and Bella walk over toward us.

"Yeah, I can feel it. We should get going." Jacob looked to me and I nodded. Edward and Bella said goodbye and she was picked up by Embry.
"I'll see you in a couple hours okay." Emmett kissed my forehead and lingered for a moment before turning and walking away with Edward to head up the mountain. They were going to set up the campsite for our arrival.
"Something up?" Jacob looked to me curiously. I shook my head and smiled softly.
"Just a bunch of vampires trying to kill me and my sister." I shrugged and he picked me up bridal style.
"So same old, same old." He laughed. "Alright let's go." He looked towards Embry who nodded at him and off we were carried to our spot on the mountain.
Jacob carried me while Embry carried Bella up the long rocky trail up the side of the mountain. Once we reached the top they put us down and we were met with Emmett and Edward ready to take us into their arms. I ran to Emmett and he lifted me off the ground hugging me closely to him. My feet touched back down once more and Emmett turned, looking at Jake gratefully.
"Thank you." He said.
Jake looked at him and nodded lightly.
"You should go back before the storm hits." I looked to Jacob and smiled weakly at him. I didn't want him to have to leave, but knowing he wouldn't stay out of the fight it was better for him to just go now. His face contorted slightly and a small speck of a smile showed on his lips.
"No, I'm staying. You'll need my connection to the pack to keep tabs on what's going on."
"You're not going to fight?" I asked him surprised.
"Embry will go now, and Seth will join us here later. I'll leave in the morning. Seth's not happy about missing the action, but it'll keep him out of trouble." Jacob shrugged.
"Come on, let's get you guys inside." Emmett said. He led me away into the tent.
Bella and I talked for a while, trying to keep busy. It wasn't exactly fun being stuck on a mountain side in the cold. Couldn't walk anywhere or leave the tent much in order to minimize our scents being tracked. Later on in the evening as it was time to sleep. Bella clung to Edward bundled in her blankets. I did the same with Emmett. But there was a roaring, howling, wind outside the tent. The storm had started and the temperature dropped significantly. Being that our boyfriend's were just as cold as it was outside they both had moved away from us on the other side of the tent.
We tried laying together to hopefully stay warm but both of us were frozen to the bone. Shivering, teeth chattering. Emmett and Edward looked on at us with worried, sympathetic faces. We could easily read them and knew they felt guilty.
"I should have chosen a site lower down..." Edward looked at us as we shivered violently.
"N-no, it's f-fine. I'm o-okay. You're okay r-right, (Y/n/n)?" Bella managed to chatter through her teeth. All I could do was nod.
I held my blanket and sleeping bag close to my body, pulling it up under my chin.
"What can we do?" Emmett looked at me worriedly.
Neither Bella nor I spoke, being that we had no ideas on how to possibly make it any better. About another hour went by when the tent was zipped open. Jacob climbed through the opening and zipped it back up.

"I can't sleep with all that teeth chattering going on." He looked at me and our eyes met. Jacob saw how bitterly cold we both were when obviously an idea had come to mind. Before he could say anything Edward spoke.
"Forget it." Edward snapped at him. Emmett looked at Edward curiously to find out what exactly was going on. "He want's to lay with her. Keep her warm and have Seth come in for Bella."
"Absolutely not." Emmett said firmly.
"They might needs their toes someday. And let's face it, I am hotter than you." Jacob attempted to move towards me but Emmett grabbed his arm angrily. "Get your hand off me." Jacob snarled.
"Keep your hands off her." Emmett growled back.
"D-don't f-fight..." I tried to speak up but it came out as a stuttered whisper.
"If she get's sick then that's on you." Jacob glared at Emmett.
Emmett, stuck in a positioned he didnt want to be in was distraught. He looked to me and saw just how cold I was. He looked to Bella, and then to Edward. It was like they had a silent conversation and eventually, Edward reluctantly nodded at him.
They both knew we needed help and if this was the only way then so be it. Jacob whistled outside the tent and made little Seth come inside. Jacob came to my side and laid up against me from behind. I turned towards him and put my hands up on his chest and cuddled as closely as I could. His warm body and arms wrapped around me making me so much warmer within seconds. Seth sat respectfully around Bella, letting her curl into him, keeping her warm.
"Wow, you are freezing, (Y/n)." I shivered violently again. "Relax. You'll warm up soon." He cooed before I could feel his head lean ontop of mine. Jacob looked directly at Emmett. "Faster if you took your clothes off." He said quietly with a large smirk. Emmett was furious, but helpless to do anything.
"J-Jake..." I said in a scolding tone. I shivered against his body.
"Survival 101." He pointed out and I rolled my eyes.
He cuddled me closer if that was even possible and laid his head gently against mine closing his eyes and relishing in the moment. Within an hour both Bella and I had managed to finally fall asleep. Seth and Edward had their own little conversation and the two definitely liked each other. Emmett grumbled quietly to himself. Joining in on their convo every so often. Emmett came to really like Seth, he was bearable for a wolf. Sweet kid, who held no grudges against the Cullen's unlike the rest of the pack.
I stirred slightly, only becoming half awake but I kept my eyes closed to try to fall back asleep. At least another two hours had passed by now and I was warm. Comfortable. I couldn't help but think about how uncomfortable it was for Emmett and I hated that he was being made to go through this. There really was no other way though. I felt Jacob's arm hold me better after I had shifted and that's when the boy's started talking again.
"Could you at least attempt to not look so happy while you're over there." Emmett grumbled angrily at Jacob.
"I really get under that ice cold skin of yours, don't I?" Jacob remarked with a smirk. Emmett huffed in annoyance. "What? Are you doubting her feelings for you?" Emmett didn't respond to him being annoyed and fed up with the situation and the question. "Look, I know she's in love with you."
"Oh, good." Emmett said seriously.
"But she's in love with me, too. She just won't admit it to herself." Jacob paused and watched Emmett's reaction. He looked down at (Y/n)'s sleeping figure and sighed ever so quietly.
"I can't tell if your right..." Emmett admitted quietly. Each of the boys looked to him surprised, except maybe Edward being that he could read his brother's thoughts. But the fact that he admitted it out loud was a bit of a shock. Emmett glanced around to them all and sighed.
"Then let me ask you something. If she chooses me..."
"She won't." Emmett cut in quickly. He knew she'd agreed to marry him and that had to stand for something.
"IF she did." He reiterated again. "Would you try to kill me?" Jake asked curious to know his response.
Emmett chuckled softly.
"That's certainly an intriguing idea. But, no. I couldn't hurt her like that."
"So you'd just turn her into a blood-sucking demon like you?" Jacob glared at Emmett.
"It's her choice. Beside's, I left in an attempt to give her a normal life." Emmett argued quietly.
"But you gave up to quickly." Jacob was quick to point out. "If you'd stayed away another six months, I could have made her happy...Trust me...You have to consider that I might be better for her than you are."
"I have considered that. I know you can protect her. You have been her whole life. But I am never going to force her into doing anything ever again. The last time I tried I nearly got her killed." Emmett said solemnly.
"Yeah. That I remember." Jacob rolled his eyes.
Both boys remembered the cliff jumping incident. How (Y/n) was so willing to keep her sister safe, it nearly cost them both of their lives. How Emmett thought for a total of about 12 hours that she was gone for good and he had to see for himself. He had been so worried about the fact that he pushed her away, thinking he was doing the right thing for his family as they had so told him. But he was crushed to leave her behind. He'd was afraid he'd never get to tell her how much he absolutely loved her and needed her again. That all of his words were a lie. He never wanted her to die believing anything he had told her that day. And that was a mistake he wasn't willing to make again, for anybody.
Jacob thought for sure for a few moment's that (Y/n) was dead. It crushed his insides to think his best friend of his entire life was gone. When that wave crushed the both of the girls under the water and neither of them reappeared. He was devastated that he never had the chance to fight harder for her love and affection that he so desperately wanted. He knew he had begun to repair her broken heart. She had opened up to him almost as it was before she met Emmett. He had been so close and yet still so far.
"When you thought she was gone," Jacob asked out after a minute of reminiscing. "That you'd lost her...how did you cope?"
"There are no words... But I wouldn't wish it on anyone, Jacob." Emmett thought for a minute about his question. He knew they were best friends before him and how badly (Y/n) didn't want to give that up. It brought her happiness having him in her life and if there was anything he could to make that a reality for her... he was willing. "You know... This might sound odd, but I am glad that you're here."
Jacob grinned and chuckled slightly.
"Meaning, as much as I'd love to kill you, I'm glad she's warm."
Emmett laughed quietly.
"Yeah, there is that. You know, if we weren't natural enemies and you weren't trying to steal my reason for existing, I might actually like you."
"Well, if you weren't planning on sucking the life out of the girl I've always loved, I might..." Jacob looked down at his best friend and chuckled before returning his attention back to Emmett. "No. Not even then... But she could still change her mind, you know."
Emmett thought to himself. Selfishly, He wanted to tell him that (Y/n) already accepted his marriage proposal and how excited she seemed for it. But he knew there was that small, minuscule chance that he was right.
"Then I'd let her go." Emmett answered plainly.
